Chapter 2: Repulsive flames pt.2

It took him a long time until he stopped sobbing and lowered his sword.

Suddenly, his ears perked up and heard a collection of crunching noises.

He turned around to face the cause of it and took a stance, indicating that he was prepared to strike down everything, as well as to relieve stress.

A beast emerged from the tall bushes of the forest, A canine creature twice the length of his body.

His face expressed a vague confusion as he looked at the beast.

Compared to a wolf's sleek fur, This creature had a significant portion of its head bald. It also had a lot of fat on its body as it stood on all fours, it was clearly different from wolves who usually looked agile and capable.

He decided to use his sword, despite it being basically broken.

He then quickly glanced at his surroundings, and at his horse.

He didn't notice it earlier, so he made the conclusion that this beast just recently found him and wasn't lying in wait.

He considered using some kind of flashy magic attack against it, but he rejected it as the horse he took with him would run away. The horse looked scared as it already did.

Both characters stood in the forest's opening, patiently waiting for who would go first.

The beast decided to go ahead and rushed towards him with full aggression.

He raised his sword and sheath to receive the beasts attack and tried to hold his ground as the beast rammed into him.

He didn't know why it didn't choose to bite him, but he brushed it off.

As he was getting pushed back, he decided that he needed to do something.

He slid onto the beast's side and immediately slashed the side of the beast's neck and torso.

The beast cried at the intense pain that was inflicted onto it.

A massive bleeding was revealed along with the beast's wound.

The sword definitely cut quite a deep one and proved that it was a good blade, despite already decaying.

The beast recovered quickly and faced him, filled to the brim with aggression.

He was preparing for it to immediately attack and heightened his senses.

However, the beast simply howled and roared at him and then at the sky.

He was annoyed by this and stuck his sword deeply into the ground and then proceeded to scoop all the debris he can onto the beast.

He was achieve this by augmenting his physical strength with magic, although it hurt quite a bit. He wasn't used to doing this at all.

The beast had to take a huge chunk of soil, stones and roots at him until it stopped and rushed at him, intending to crush him with its fangs.

Its enemy, now being having a body augmented with magic, moved slowly and readied his sword sideways and went for a full powered swing.

The timing of this swing was a bit late, however, it only helped to bring everything out.

The beast's muzzle was torn all the way down to its very neck and crushed everything below, ribs and all due to the kinetic energy left over.

All the beast's organs and blood flew all over the air, lengthy organs were stuck on along the branches of trees and blood stained and soaked the surrondings.

It was disgusting.

Despite that, however, He managed to get only quite a minimal amount of blood splattered onto him.

Rather than marvel at himself in victory, he contorted his face in disgust.

"Absolutely Disgustin- what!?"

However, before he could do anymore of that, he heard and felt dozens of gigantic footsteps approaching towards him, albeit at a far distance away.

He was horrified. His face was pale as the moon on its full form.

He was powerful. Powerful enough to be a serious threat. However, when it comes to dealing with monsters that were far more numerous and bigger than the one he had fought, he would rather stay out of it all.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! God damn it!"

The dog he killed had called for reinforcements, and a lot of them at that.

The horse he had with him was panicking and didn't know where to go. Most horses would have already gone away and escaped.

However, he thought of this as a very good thing.

He then gathered a massive amount of magic and made every tree , except for the ones in the direction his horse was in, heat up and explode in an attempt to release the water vaper within them!

Everything burst up in flames, and he ran to get up on his horse.
