The nineteen year old duke of Gradenhill flung the expensive fox fur coat over his shoulders leaving the chains to dangle. He motioned for his maids to leave for their job here was done. He was all dressed. All he did now was pick up his pure white gloves as he elegantly wore them. He picked up his hair brush and brushed his hair taking time with each stroke. When he was done, his silver eyes swept easily to stare at his breathtakingly beautiful reflection. He was tall and broad shouldered, his skin was pale and shiny. Even smooth to both the touch and sight. To add to his beauty was his envied silver hair and eyes.
He was the young master and duke Nathaniel Wilkinson of Gradenhill.
"Nathan,your class mates are arriving."
A female voice spoke from the door. It was graceful and pure. Speaking to him with so much carefulness and love. It was his mother. Who else would have spoken to the very very quiet and unpredictable young duke in such a comfortable manner.
Sighing deeply he turned to look at her. His gaze was cold and never changing as always. But this mother of his only saw her beautiful little son anyway. The gazes never bothered her because she could stare deeply into his eyes without even a hint of fear.
"Did you have to host the summer classes?." he asked her. She walked quietly into the room and stood by him, turning his face to her.
"Didn't you want me to?. Your classmate and teacher's seemed okay with it. Besides it would be fun to attend classes right here at home don't you think? Even Vivian is coming over after such a long while. Isn't that nice?." she asked him but got no answer all he did was focus on arranging his looks for the so called classes he was attending that day.
"Vivian is attending here?."He asked her.
"Yes. Apparently, she didn't want to attend where her classmates where going and since she's still your mate i requested she came here." She replied stating her reasons. "You don't want that either?."
"I'd rather she had attended else where." He said. Jane's face puzzled up.
"Why is that?." She asked.
"Because my baby cousin Vivian,is the biggest distraction the world could offer." He said as he walked out of the room and down the hall.
He heard a gasp in front of him.Coming from the younger children in the mansion. "Its duke Nathaniel. His coming this way hide!!." One of the youngsters said as they all scrammed. Leaving a brown haired girl as she stood. The look on her face confused and wondering where all her friends had run off to.
"Huh?."She said aloud.
"Aren't you going to hide Ava?."her friend asked from behind the jar she hid.
"Hide? Why would i be hiding?."She tilted her head at her friend.
"Because he's coming."The girl answered in a whisper.
"He? Who is he?."She asked yet again.
"Young duke Nathaniel. The young and scary lord of our mansion. He's very scary and silver haired. You should hide Ava. I think he's coming closer."The girl squeaked.
"Well let that duke of yours come and pass. For i have no business with him."The girl said as loudly as she could.
Nathan, arriving closer to where she stood stopped in his tracks on reaching her
He stared down at the girl who was no older than nine years of age as she looked up at him as well. Just with a look into her big brown eyes he could tell she was naughty. One of the naughtiest children around he guessed. The thing was that she was new around thats why she had that gut.
"Its lord Nathaniel for you." He said walking past her. The girl shivered immediately after. She stood for a while like as though she'd been traumatized. Her hands and legs where shaking. She'd turned as pale as plain paper. Her friends immediately rushed out of their hiding places, probably to say they'd warned her.....
Nathan finally arrived the ground floor of his mansion. Where the summer classes where taking place. Usually, every summer holiday, his school had a student volunteer in hosting their summer classes at his or her home. All of Nathan's classmates had hosted at least once or twice and he attended although personally he just wished they'd have the classes at school. He'd never for once even spoken about hosting,at least not until Vivian spoke about it to the hearing of his classmates and teacher.
As he walked by the windows heading toward the hosting area, a feminine voice yelled his name from outside. He turned knowing fully well that voice and who it belonged to. Staring out the window to where that voice had called was a girl who's hand was held elegantly by the chaffeur as he bowed. She was standing on the stool in which was placed for her. She was dressed in a simple but highly made knee length dress. Her brown and shoulder length hair held with two flower hairpins in front. Her eyes were large and reddish brown. Staring towards him with a smile as she waved. Slowly, she stepped down.
"Thank you Sherman." She smiled at the chaffeur.
"Oh my,my lady. No need to thank me. For it is my job."he said sharply and she giggled slightly.
"Alright then park the carriage. Also you wouldn't have a need to come by later. I'll have my aunt send me home with one her carriages. You might as well as be free for the day Sherman." She smiled again.
"My lady, you are so kind."The chaffeur said as she smiled waving him off jokingly.
Vivian turned to see if her impatient cousin was still waiting for her. Lucky enough,he still stood there. She smiled brighter as she walked towards him and the entrance of the mansion.
"Nathan." She said his name sweetly as she stepped into the mansion. "You have missed me haven't you? Well I'm here now and you don't need to any more." She flashed him a smile as she now went ahead to stand in front of him. He stared lazily at her. He had no expression and one couldn't tell what he was thinking even if they tried.
"What brings you by?." he finally asked. He no longer wanted to ruin her day with by him scolding her because she had the classes hosted at his home.
"Are you kidding? Today we will be....."
"I know Vivian."He cut through her sentence and she immediately frowned. Blinking at him at least once twice or thrice even.
"Tch."She clicked her tounge as he walked past her. "Alright then let's..talk about something else. Hmm,aha!! Your birthday seems to be coming up fast right? You seem too small to be twenty any way. I mean....."
Nathan stopped as she then bumped into him. Falling back wards he turned and grabbed her wrist. Her small and glossed up lips formed an O shape probably at the incredible save. She blinked again as he pulled her up. She stared down a bit before adjusting and looking up at him. He was glaring at her knowing fully well her thoughts already shifted to the part of her falling and ruining her dress. Made him wish he'd let her fall.
"Don't look at me like that! Sometimes i wonder if you grow younger every day!!! Even I'm turning seventeen a week after you and i don't look any younger than you!!!." She immediately changed the topic.
"The class is up ahead. Everyone's arriving already. You should go." He said.
"Auntie Jane said you wanted your birthday to be just as simple as her being your only guest. Is that true? You don't want me at your party?." She asked.
"You can come if you want. I just don't want my baby cousin being bored to death. Murder isn't really my thing now." He said without turning back to look at her.
"Oh really? Then prepare to have me buried."She laughed even if he said or did nothing in particular.
The noise only could let one tell there was a bunch of teenagers down the hall. But as Nathan arrived with Vivian trailing behind everything stopped. All the noise and every other thing. The room was filled with tension and a deadly kind of silence. Vivian wondered why that was so. Sometimes she wished for Nathan to have a normal life, the kind she was living,he had loving parents right? She wished he could just open up,at least say more words in a day, laugh more often and be normal, have friends at school and more. But instead, her cousin wasn't that way,he was cold and unpredictable,in all the years she'd lived she never knew anyone as introverted as him. Not even in her school or class. Everyone feared him and wanted to stay as far away as possible, the cold feeling that came from him was so much that even she feared him sometimes. It was just in her nature to hide it and be joyful as always around him.
Nathan walked straight to the shelve,he picked up a book examined it and headed straight for an empty seat. He acted as though there was no one there. At least the only person visible was Vivian.
Vivian then went straight for the seat next to his. Shewas sure no one was gonna take it but still rushed it anyway. You never knew when someone would be willing to talk to Nathan for a change.
"What are you reading?."She asked almost in hushed tunes although he didn't answer her. She just tried to look into the book and read what he was reading as well.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't mr posh snub."
Vivian heard a mocking voice just in front of her and Nathan. Slowly she looked up to see who it was. And just as thought,it was Clinton. A kings son and the class bully. He was huge and black haired. He wore an annoying grin and had two other boys as backup. It was clear he got annoyed when Nathan ignored him.It was like a habit for Clinton to disturb Nathan while he ignored him. That was one of Nathan's best way to annoy or avoid trouble,to ignore. He was so good at it that Vivian gave up and believed it was more than just a habit.
Clinton slammed his hand on the desk, causing Vivian to shake.
"Move! You're in my seat." He said arrogantly. Nathan then closed his book he stared lazily up at Clinton before standing quietly to leave.
Vivian stared confused at him. Wondering why he was leaving. She then immediately grabbed his wrist. Stopping him in his tracks.
"With all due respect,we arrived here first. Chasing him from the seats he provided for us in his own home while speaking with such arrogance is no way a kings son should behave." Vivian spoke with all seriousness. She watched as Clinton chuckled and turned to his backups.
"And who are you speaking to that way you brat?!!."
And with these words, Vivian's grip on Nathan's wrist loosened, only for Nathan to turn and watch Vivian fall. Clinton had pushed her. So hard she got a bruise on her arm. She was bleeding.
Without a second thought,he sent his fist flying into Clinton's face. The boy was pushed to the ground with Nathan atop him. He didn't stop as he landed one then another as he continued. He seemed unstoppable because not even his classmates or Clinton's back up could stop him.
"Nathan!!." Vivian yelled as she tried to stop him. Even her efforts were a waste as she tried stopping him. He pushed her to a side and kept going. She immediately ran out the class to an unknown destination.
"Never mistake my silence for weakness!!!."
These where the words he said raising his hand higher to land another punch...
"Nathaniel!!!!!!!."
Another feminine voice called as his hand immediately froze in mid air. He turned slowly to stare at the two females by the door one of which was his mother. Standing beside her was Vivian.
Jane rushed in as she grabbed Nathan making him stand. His hands and white inner robes where all stained with blood. She cupped his cheeks in her palms as tears rolled down her eyes. She almost couldn't believe. Slowly, she grabbed his wrist,a little distance from the blood dragging him out of the room.
"Get his highness home for proper treatment." Vivian said as she stepped out and followed behind Jane and Nathan.....
"What has come over you?! Why would you act in such an unspeakable manner?! Have i raised you to be such? I understand he hurt Vivian but you should have warned him never to instead acting in such a manner!!." Jane spoke as tears left he eyes. She was upset, and most of all hurt. She was hurt by his actions.
Nathan said nothing. There was nothing he could say,his beloved mother was already hurt so much by him.
"Vivi, bring me some warm water and a towel. Your brother seems a little hurt you see." She said as Vivian immediately left...
Jane was sitted on a stool with a bowl of warm water next to her. Infront of Nathan. She dipped a towel in it,squeezed it as she wiped the blood of off his hands. The classes had ended for the day since they'd been chaos. Vivian had refused to leave and was receiving treatment too. While humming,Jane wiped off the blood. She then turned and dipped a towel in the water turning back to Nathan. She held his hand in hers as she looked up at him with a smile. She looked over at his palm. There was a cut there. She now frowned deeply at the cut. She dropped the towel and trailed a finger over the injury. She stared a bit at it...
However, her eyes widened in confusion as the injury slowly vanished, leaving her son with a clear and uninjured palm. No trace or scar was seen....
