NATHANIEL:INTO THE DARK VERSES

"It's a boy!!!."

The mid wives cried out as the duke immediately shut his terrified eyes open. He turned to watch as they held up the baby. It or rather he was crying. He gulped immediately rushing over to his wife. She was panting so much. Even her hair was wet from all the sweat.

"Jane!!."He said in out must panic and fear. "Are you okay?!." he was shivering as he spoke to her. Slowly she turned to face him. Smiling faintly as tears streamed from her eyes. He immediately heaved a sigh of relief staring at his beautiful wife. He couldn't just imagine.

"Can i hold him?." her voice shook as they brought the baby closer. Jane held him in her hands. So he was finally out. So much had previously happened because of this little duke and now he was out. She couldn't help but smile. She had awaited his arrival way too long.....

Alfred sat back. Watching as she held close his newborn child. So, it was finally happening. Just some minutes ago, the tension in the air was so much that one could sense it. Alfred's face had even grown pale from all the fear. The fear of losing his beloved wife through the birthing of this baby. All the stories he'd heard seemed to would have manifested all at once. He could swear he had never been that afraid in his life.

"Wouldn't you like to hold him?." Jane's voice brought him back as she stretched the boy towards him. Was he willing to hold the boy? Well of course. That was his son right? And with that thought. He moved closer. Stretching out his extremely shaking hands to his wife's direction. She gave him an assuring smile. Placing the boy in his hands.

Alfred's eyes went a little wide as he held the boy. His heartbeat accelerated to a point he felt uneasy and his breath heavy. He never held a newborn baby in his life. What if he dropped the boy? His very own son. The man swallowed looking up at his wife whose assuring smile seemed to stay. He then turned to stare at the boy who suddenly stopped to stare at his father.

"Oh my. He has silver hair." The mid wife spoke as she came closer to the boy. Now Alfred stared back at this son of his who had silver hair. Reminding himself of the creation of his own son.

Would he really believe the boy was his own? It was a deal that brought him to life after all. What would his wife believe if she knew. If only she knew where and how...

"Is that bad? A defect maybe?." Jane asked the mid wife as Alfred thoughts got disturbed. Causing him to stop and listen.

"No my lady. It only seems rare." she bowed slightly.

Jane turned to smile at her son.

Alfred only thought more in where he'd seen that silver color. In the dark. Where it lay brushed on the back of that creature.....
