...........Chapter 55: Will You Join Us? II
...........
"Isaac?" Suddenly, as if she had remembered something, Tsunade stopped, turning around and eyeing him with a frown.
"You've heard of me?" Isaac raised a brow.
"No, that name just reminded me of someone," Tsunade shook her head, "Someone dead." By the tone of her voice, the death of that individual appeared to be a very unfortunate thing for her.
"That would definitely be me," Isaac smiled before continuing, "But let's not talk here. I saw a nice diner on my way here, let's talk there."
Soon, they arrived at the diner, Tsunade somewhat regaining her clarity upon his words, as she eyed him with curiosity.
"Assuming that you are indeed Isaac, why would you fake your death?" Tsunade questioned, still doubtful.
"It wasn't so much so that I faked my death as it was being saved from the darkness of Konoha," Isaac shook his head before getting to the point, "I'm here to invite you to join me in building a better world."
"Oh?" Tsunade couldn't help but chuckle as if she had heard something funny, "What do you expect me to do? And what can you do considering you are known to be dead?"
"I want you to oversee the Healthcare system of my land," Isaac stated.
"What land are we talking about?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes, realizing something.
"Land of Rain," Isaac was strangely honest and straightforward.
"I don't know what kind of adventure you stumbled upon after your disappearance, but I have to disappoint you because I can not help you." Tsunade refused outright.
"I have heard about your fear of blood, is that what you mean by saying you can't?" Isaac questioned.
"Not many people know about that. How did you?" Tsunade questioned with a frown, eyeing Isaac warily. Blood is her weakness as seeing even a speck of it can leave her completely vulnerable.
It's her trauma that came to be due to the death of her little brother, followed shortly after by the death of her fiance.
"I did investigate you before this," Said Isaac, "I will still invite you again. You'll oversee the healthcare system, so you can minimize how much you can come in contact with blood. Moreover, you will be helping people, not killing them. I do need your power of destruction, only healing."
"So you want me to betray my village and join yours?" Tsunade raised a question of her own.
"Last I heard, you left Konoha," Isaac pointed out.
"Doesn't mean I'm willing to go against Konoha," Tsunade retorted.
"Who said I would go against Konoha? Who said I would go against any other village?" Isaac questioned.
"Am I supposed to trust your words?" Tsunade simply wouldn't budge.
"You are supposed to trust your actions. There is a reason you left Konoha after all, and there is a reason Konoha chose to give up on me," Isaac retorted.
"You..." Tsunade frowned, "You're right. There is a reason I left Konoha, so why would your village be any different?"
"Because of me," Isaac smiled as he proclaimed, "From your previous reaction, you must've known of me, so all I ask you first is to take a look at the village, then make a decision, and you can leave at any time.
I have heard that Konoha wasn't very supportive of your healthcare reforms. Here I am now promising you the utmost support I can possibly provide, and asking you not to fight, but to just do your passion... Is this an offer you can refuse?"
Tsunade frowned and remained silent, rubbing her temples as if she had a headache, "I..." She really wasn't sure of what to say. That should be something she wanted, but she was afraid and uncertain.
"This will be your salary," Isaac added as he pushed a piece of paper to her side of the table.
Talking about money would've been a very bad idea only if it was the first thing he brought out. Tsunade, despite her gambling addiction, isn't someone who would throw away her values for money.
Therefore, he spoke of the primary reasons why she should join, then added the temptation of money, successfully so from the looks of Tsunade's reaction as her eyes constricted and her mouth twitched.
"I'm awaiting your arrival," Isaac didn't push too much as took off his mask only for a second before putting it on again. He had to assure them that he was indeed Isaac.
He then stood up and walked away. Tsunade's passion for healing will definitely be helpful, but it's not necessary, so even if she doesn't join, it still wouldn't be a big problem.
"They're itchy again," Isaac murmured after walking far, taking off his mask again and scratching his eyes, "Am I about to awaken Eternal Mangekyo?" Isaac wondered.
Usage of the Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities can cause a great strain on the user.
It drains a considerable amount of chakra when simply activating and maintaining the advanced dōjutsu, and even more through each technique used.
Even more, it can cause considerable damage to their being, leaving the body in agonizing pain and causing deterioration to their vision until eventually over-usage leaves them blind.
Their vision can be restored by transplanting the eyes of a Uchiha with strong blood ties, ideally, a sibling, thus awakening the so-called Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Unlike with other transplants, this second evolution will allow the user to retain their original techniques in addition to obtaining the techniques of the new eyes.
However, Isaac didn't transplant any new eyes. Eternal Refinement just did its things, his eyes continuously being perfected until they eventually turn into Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
Isaac moved on to his next target, a village not far from here, a village named Kusagakure.
During the Third Shinobi World War, the country was invaded by Iwagakure and served as an important front between Iwa and Konoha.
However, even though not much time has passed, they have already got things back together, an element that was very helpful to their reorganization was a woman by the last name of Uzumaki.
The woman and her daughter were allowed to take refuge in Kusagakure, on the condition that the mother healed the village's wounded, something she was able to do due to the Uzumaki blood within her.
She is able to heal others by letting them bite her, transferring her life force to them. If that sounds harmful to her, it's because it is.
The proof was right before Isaac as he traced the mother to the village's hospital. There, she was resting for god knows just how much she needs rest.
The mother's body was extremely frail, and there were numerous bite marks on her arms.
She was asleep, but the girl beside her wasn't. It was her daughter with the same brilliant red hair, resting her chin on her hands with a face full of worry and anxiety.
She was only a child after all, put on so much pressure by the sight of her frail mother, and monitored by the cold Shinobi standing to the side.
The Shinobi was assigned to watch over the mother and daughter, just to make sure they didn't mess around.
The Shinobi's expression was indifferent. He had grey pupilless eyes which were quite scary for the young girl, a girl by the name of Karin.
"Do you want to save your mother? Do you want to leave this place? Do you want me to kill him? If so, just nod," Suddenly, Karin heard such words in her ears, as if someone was standing right by her side.
Her eyes couldn't help but widen, but she quickly nodded nonetheless.
The Shinobi by the side didn't hear the voice, but he witnessed her expression and strange behavior, making him extremely wary as he frowned.
Just as he opened his mouth to either question her or yell for backup, he felt something by his side, then he felt something brush by his throat.
The Shinobi's eyes moved as he looked sideways, realizing that at some point, someone clad in white stood beside him.
He then realized that the man was either rising in the air, or he himself was falling to the ground... Until he discovered much to his horror... It was his head that was falling to the ground.
The Shinobi's headless body fell first, followed by his head as Isaac gently placed it on the body.
Karin was stunned by what occurred before her as she eyed Isaac's hand released a glow of brilliance, making the room turn cold in an instant.
The dead beheaded Shinobi suffered the most as his body parts froze, ice crystallizing on them, and then it all broke into tiny pieces that soon melted into mist by a wave of heat released by Isaac.
Isaac stood up with a gentle smile, and walked up to the bewildered Karin, crouching before her as he said, "You don't know me, and you can't trust me, so I may be guiding you to the unknown, but surely the unknown is better than watching your mother die slowly... So, will you follow in the hope of a better future?"
"P-Please," Karin didn't hesitate much as she begged, the luster of hope clear in her eyes, "Please take us away!"
