...........Chapter 56: The Overseer
...........
"Why are you working so hard on this?" Black Zetsu couldn't help but question, somewhat confused and doubtful, "Wouldn't all of this hard work become obsolete after the Eye of the Moon Plan?"
Beside him was Isaac, seated behind his desk, with numerous stacks of papers before him, paperwork he has to go through every single day.
With the amount of reforms Isaac was implementing, it was no surprise that it would come with a lot of hard work and difficulties, changing the world isn't easy.
"Just an experiment, really," Isaac shrugged, not too concerned at all about Black Zetsu's doubts.
After all, his actions are bound to make Black Zetsu suspicious and wonder if Isaac is truly committed to the Plan.
"Most importantly, look at this," Isaac brought out a scroll and showed it to Black Zetsu, "Do you see any way we can improve it."
Black Zetsu had a frown on his face due to Isaac's lack of reaction, but he still looked. Written on the scroll was a technique, Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation.
Black Zetsu's eyes couldn't help but constrict as he glanced at Isaac, "How did you get it?" He definitely heard of the technique, the Second Hokage's most prized and dangerous creation.
"Orochimaru," Isaac naturally responded, "If we improve the technique, we should be able to summon Madara much quicker. I'm trying, but it's extremely difficult to improve, and would take many years to fix."
"Why? Why take this route instead of the one Madara planned? Nagato is Madara's assurance of ressurection. That's why he left him the Rinnegan, so he can resurrect him." Black Zetsu reasoned.
"That's not a reason not to have a backup plan, especially since Nagato isn't too committed to the plan... I can see the wariness in his eyes," Isaac argued, "Moreover, my little experiment here... I will get bored of it soon, then I will want to end it all, the help of the technique would be very valuable in that case, not just for summoning Madara."
"Oh? You want to summon other souls?" Black Zetsu narrowed his eyes, slowly but surely finding the plan to be very appealing.
"Yes, like Hashirama. However, we have to be in control, thus why we need to improve the technique and fix its flaws. Keep that copy with you and study it, see if you can improve it in any way. I will contact Orochimaru to cooperate with him as well," Said Isaac.
"I will take a look at it," Black Zetsu finally agreed to Isaac's plan though he still warned before sinking into the floor, "Be careful of Orochimaru."
Isaac nodded and continued to look through the paperwork, and it wasn't long before Konan joined him, bringing him a few more stacks of paperwork.
"Do you not find it tiring?" Konan asked curiously. The amount of paperwork formed mountains by his side, yet he never complained.
"Tiring? It's, sometimes," Isaac let out a genuine smile as he responded, "Then I remember that I'm working, I'm doing better, working towards a better future, and I simply become the happiest I've ever been."
Konan was stunned as she eyed his genuine smile, then his cosmic eyes. They seemed to have become even more beautiful recently, near perfection.
She had never realized just how inspiring he was, maybe because she never truly let out her guard when by his side, even if she didn't show it.
The genuineness in his tone finally made her relax a bit as she sat by his desk, "I want to help more. I don't feel like I'm doing enough."
"Hmm, pick up the finished paperwork to the left and document them all on that computer, make sure to upload them to our network. I want a backup of all these papers in digital and physical form," Isaac certainly welcomed her help.
Konan's mouth twitched as she eyed the mountains of finished paperwork, but was still determined as she started her work.
"Don't worry, I will make the process much easier and void of errors soon, a week at the most," Isaac added.
Konan nodded before saying, "Is research what you told me. The distribution of land worked as intended. Most people are using their land efficiently to grow crops, taking the guides and advice of Eternal News, thus our food production is predicted to triple, and it will continue to grow with time."
"I see... Then we might have an overproduction of food soon, producing more food than the demand can take... Unless we form a trade alliance with the adjacent nations," Isaac commented.
"I can take care of that when the time comes?" Konan wanted the responsibility.
"Not yet, you still have a lot to learn. I will take care of the first few negotiations, and you can learn from me, then you can take care of the rest," Isaac denied her request.
"I understand," Konan nodded seriously.
Isaac then put his full focus on the paperwork, his mind free after fully uploading today's memories to the main body.
Speaking of the real Isaac, he was in an environment where everything looks gray, all shades of gray, the Gray or Mirror Dimension.
Within the dimension, he built himself his grandest base yet, right under the Tower of Eternal City.
He was there in the labs while he left his clone going through all the paperwork though he wasn't doing it to avoid work but to be responsible for the most difficult work himself.
Thus the dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn't slept in days, leaving him drained despite his astonishing physique, yet he was joyful, the most joyful.
"It's finally ready!" The wide smile, showing his teeth, said as much, "Initiate The Overseer." Isaac ordered as he stood before a giant machine, a work of art.
He was in a contained chamber that had numerous pipes linked to a globe structure in the middle, as well as numerous other spheres attached to the wall.
The Artificial Intelligence named the Overseer was Isaac's greatest work. The Chamber Utilizes an advanced liquid cooling system, specifically, Using a cryogenic fluid to achieve extremely low temperatures, liquid nitrogen.
The cooling system includes many other things to the point that it's overkill, but Isaac did it on purpose for he was preparing the Overseer for future upgrades, including the Quantum Computers he's currently researching, still far away, but Isaac believes he can make them.
Furthermore, it also uses Electromagnetic Shielding, Vibration Isolation, and a Redundant Power Supply to ensure security and stability.
Hell, the Overseer resides in an entirely different dimension, the Mirror Dimension, ensuring the best possible protection.
The only flaw would be the fact that the Overseer is connected to the real World through several stable portals that allow passage from and to the dimension, extremely minuscule and well protected, but still a flaw.
[Initiating... The Overseer has been initiated... Starting the predetermined Algorithms by the Creator... All Algorithms have been initiated... Connecting to the Network...]
It took a while, but eventually, the cold voice of the Overseer resounded again.
[Connection Suceesful... Connection Stable... Minor Delay... Connecting to all linked devices in Eternal City... Connection Sucessful... Initiating the Eternal Network in Full Capacity... Initiation Sucessful]
"Review all the happenings and my actions for the last few months. Make corrections and provide guidance when necessary," Isaac instructed.
"Most importantly, start research on the Virtual World Project and seek to launch it in at most ten years." Isaac's vision is finally coming along.
