Chapter 23: The Experiment

[Eichi's P.O.V.]

It's been a while now since we managed to rid the world of Madara and Zetsu. On our way back, Mikoto and Ryo told me about what happenend inside the cave.

After sealing Zetsu and killing Madara, they decided to burn down all the white Zetsu's that were hidden underground and Mikoto placed his strongest seals around the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.

With Zetsu out of the way, the world seemed to have regained balance. The war offically ended with Iwa and Kiri asking for a truce. Of course, not everybody was pleased with this as many had lost their family and friends in this senseless war and thus held dep grudges against the other villages.

Mikoto was able to get both Madara's and Hashirama's cells from Madara's body and was studying them for the past 6 months.

Our aim was to not simply combine their cells with ours but we wanted them to perfectly merge. Mikoto needed to pefectly understand the structure of all the involved people and thus it took him a long time to succeed.

He was now ready to test his results on himself. He was the only human among the three of us, Ryo and I had very special DNA due to one being a dragon and I being a mix of three different beings. Mikoto needed a lot more researching and experimenting for the both of us.

We gathered in his basement, which he had expanded to be his personal lab, so if something would go wrong we could help. We were joined by Tsunade, Orochimaru and Ichika. Tsunade was important for her healing abilities, Orochimaru had become Mikoto's lab assistant. Turns out without Danzo's influence on him, he was much more grounded.

He was still a rather cold person but at least he didn't seem to be as heartless and cruel as he was in the show.

Lastly Ichika was there because she wouldn't leave my side, no matter what. When she first came with us to Konoha, I asked Tobirama-sensei to loan her a house where she could live in but she strongly refused saying she would much rather live with me.

Well, she wasn't really an unpleasant person to be around so I didn't mind but I did have to teach her about respecting each others privacy as she would suddenly burst into my room or into the bathroom demanding a battle with me.

As I was thinking about the past months experiences, Mikoto told the group:

"Alright, everythings ready. I don't think anything will go wrong but just in case, Tsunade be ready."

"Do you really have to do this?", Tsunade had a worries look on her.

"No need to worry, I have the best medical-nin here to heal me if something goes wrong and one of the brightest minds in world to assist me in process! Hahaha", Mikoto declared happily making Tsunade blush a little and Orochimaru had small smile on his face.

He laid down on a medical bed an began the process. He didn't need much as all he needes was in his memory.

The plan was to integrate both Madara and Hashirama's cells in such a way that the brain would think that they were his own. In this way the body would adapt and gradually change his DNA into the new one he created and replacing the old one.

He couldn't simply change it with his ability in one go because first the body could reject them and second the cells he created would disappear after a while as a consequence of his ability so he needed to trick the brain and make sure it would recreate the right cells itself and thus being permament.

His skin glowed a bit starting the whole process. After a couple minutes he openes his eyes and sat up.

"Alright, I did it. Now we have wait for my body to do the work and make sure everything goes as planned."

At first glance nothing had really changed, he looked the same as always.

After three hours he started spasming and he was clearly in great pain. Tsunade used a healing jutsu to try and alleviate it as much as she could while laying him down on the prepared bed.

It seemed to help as his body gradually stopped the spasms, once his body return to a calm state he opened his eyes and revealed a purple pair of eyes. Several cocentric circles could be seen with 7 tomoe arranged in the form of a triangle with the seventh tomoe in the middle of it.

His body was covered in sweat as he lazily stood back up.He lookes around and started laughing like crazy.

"It worked! We did it! Hahahaha. Woa this is really strange, I'll have to get used to this first." he happily said.

Seing him in his usual joyful self made it clear that nothing went wrong. Ryo then decided to ask the question that everybody had in mind:

"Soo what does it do? What is it's special ability?"

Mikoto closed his eyes deep in thought as he suddenly took one of the vials he had lying around. He openes his eyes again and the vial started to break apart, splitting itseld into it's purest components, a silverish stone.

He looked at us and then again at the stone, and surprisingly the stone transformed back into the transparent glass vial.

"My right eye gives me the ability to seperate inorganic objects around me into their purest elements while my left eye's ability allows me to freely combine elements at will."

Orochimaru had stars in his eyes imagining all the different experiments that were possible with such an ability.

Mikoto was dead tired after the 'operation' and send everybody home except for Tsunade, as he really needed some sleep to recuperate.

[Mikoto's P.O.V.]

It didn't take long for me to fall in love with my new ability. I have to thank Eichi for this, i would have never thought of something as crazy as using my ability to create a Rinnegan this easily.

There were so many ways to experiment with my new eyes, all the technology in my past life could be recreated with this!

Orochimaru was already making a huge list of possible worthwhile tests and theories where it could be implemented. He might just be even more excited than me.

I had to focus now, I was faraway from being able to the sams with Eichi and Ryo. Their cells were just way too different, I had to come up with something they were countin on me.

Unlike Eichi, I became a lot more fond of researching and discovering new things. Fighting was never my strong suit I'd much rather explore the unknown, so this was the perfect job for me.
