Chapter 72 - Kiri's War 01.

The Land of Water.

The forest quickly swayed as numerous shadows began to emerge, passing through the trees and a vision of a puddle reflecting the sky with clouds and the bluish atmosphere disappearing with the rain of shadows covering the entire view.

Thousands of ninjas continued running through the forest as they headed to a specific area in the center of the country where the rebel headquarters were located. There were genins, chuunins, jonins, and even two of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist among the groups moving in every direction to execute the Mizukage's orders.

They traveled for hours until finally the two mountains surrounded by mist were spotted in the middle of nowhere in a very isolated place.

The Kiri ninjas continued advancing through the forest, staying alert to any sign of movement in the region. The leader, one of the Mist swordsmen, his name was Raiga Kurosuki, wielding swords that commanded lightning. "Let's analyze the situation first," he said.

"Why should we do that? They're just some idiots waiting to be slaughtered," Ameyuri Ringo, another of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, mocked beside him.

"We shouldn't be so hasty..." The leader, Kurosuki, said and looked at the ninjas. "Tell the platoons to stop and check the area. I want a full reconnaissance," he commanded.

"What a bother..." Ringo said and moved to another place.

A group of ninjas was dispatched as they began to circle the area. They moved around the two mountains until they returned 30 minutes later.

"Report: We found nothing..." one said.

"Really? That's quite strange," Kurosuki remarked.

"Yes, commander..." commented the sensor. "There are no recent signs of activity here. Could we be walking into a trap?"

"It doesn't matter. Our mission is to find and eliminate the rebels. Did any sensor detect anything?" Kurosuki asked.

"No... it seems they've set up a barrier or something, right in the middle of the place..." the scout reported.

"Understood... Well, prepare for combat. Do not underestimate the mist. It is our ally but can easily turn against us if the rebels know how to use it to their advantage," he ordered.

"What are your orders for penetrating the mist, sir?" one of the men approached.

"We will first remove it. I want all Suiton users ready to launch a combined jutsu," he said.

"Finally some fun!! Let's finish off those cowards!!!" Ringo exclaimed, the woman finally having some kind of excitement returning to the place.

"Just take your position and let's start destroying the rebels," Kurosuki said and everyone began to move.

All the ninjas began positioning themselves in the northern part of the two mountains, with a view of the mist between the two mountains.

"Prepare the jutsus!!!" one of the ninjas exclaimed.

"Let's finish off those freaks."

"Let's crush them right from the start!!"

"Death to the rebels!!"

The exclamations began as they prepared to perform the jutsu, there were more than 4000 ninjas at this moment getting ready, the commander looked at this and quickly raised his hand, before lowering it.

"Launch the jutsus!!" he exclaimed and everyone quickly began forming hand seals. They all quickly completed the jutsu and in the next moment, they exploded water by spitting it out.

If a ninja can launch a water jutsu several meters in size, thousands of ninjas have a range of kilometers. And that's exactly what happened here, because the next moment, an explosion of water shot from the mouth of each of the thousands of ninjas, advancing through the forest and destroying everything. This was enough to devastate a hidden village.

The water moved towards its target, dragging land and trees along the way like a tsunami, advancing towards the mist, but as it was about to reach it, something happened. An explosion arose with an earth tremor, and in front of the mist, the ground began to rise, creating a massive Earth Barrier.

All the Kiri ninjas saw that, but it wasn't a simple barrier, as it had bones around it that seemed to reinforce it. "So they wouldn't be that easy to bring down..." Kurosuki murmured, looking at it.

"But those bones, they belong to those freaks from the Kaguya clan..." another ninja said there.

"Strange, I heard one was alive, but the others were supposed to be dead..." Kurosuki commented. "Anyway... let's see if they can withstand our jutsu..." he said in the end amidst all that explosive sound as the entire tsunami advanced towards the enemy.

It was at that moment that the water hit the earth barrier, and the impact between the two elements began generating a strong wind to the sides, with the water trying to penetrate the earth with bones. It stayed like that for a while, with the water advancing but being hindered, and it started climbing the barrier, while the entire area was devastated, with water splashing that way, creating a heavy rain on all sides, covering the sun, making it seem as if everyone there was in the Land of Rain.

The explosion continued until the water finally lost its impact power, unable to penetrate the barrier, though it had left it quite cracked. It began to recede, creating a wave through the still-intact forest on the sides, and a part of it returned to the ninjas, covering the area destroyed by the jutsu.

This somewhat frightened the Kiri ninjas since a part of their combined jutsu was practically returning to them, though not as strong as when it was launched.

"Prepare to avoid getting hurt!! Just jump over the water!!" Kurosuki was shouting orders, so they wouldn't waste chakra protecting themselves from the enormous wave.

Meanwhile, inside the mist, many thousands of ninjas were making seals with their hands, as they were the ones who created that large-scale jutsu, there were only 1000 ninjas who had created that jutsu. Much fewer than the 4 thousand enemies, but with the bone part to further reinforce the barrier, they managed to repel that attack.

Kimimaro was the sole author, but since he couldn't create colossal bones to help with the large-scale jutsu, he had help. There was a special clan among the refugees, the Darin clan, who could donate chakra to a person by connecting them with several fuuinjutsu lines.

There were more than 200 people around Kimimaro donating chakra to him, while everyone seemed exhausted.

Mei watched that satisfied, while Ao was by her side, with his Byakugan without the eyepatch, to see the entire battle and report any situation. "Commander Mei, we managed to repeat the jutsu together with them. What should we do?" Ao asked, while Choujuurou seemed nervous beside Mei.

"We will trust him," she said, while looking ahead where there was a person standing in front of the entire army with the white cape swaying with the wind. He wore the same style as before: black pants with boots, the white cloak with the word 'justice' and no shirt, always leaving his chest exposed, with a necklace he received from Tsunade.

Naruto looked into the middle of the mist, while sensing everything that happened on the other side, he remained silent for a moment and finally nodded. "Everyone, follow me!!" He then advanced, leading the rebel army.

"Let's follow him!" Mei exclaimed, and everyone advanced, beginning to enter the mist that separated them, passing the barrier that hundreds of ninjas maintained around the camp. They couldn't quite sense what was happening outside, but Naruto could, so he gave the order to create the earth jutsu earlier.

Thousands of rebel ninjas moved, leaving only a few ninjas to protect the civilians and children who remained at the location. Naruto kept the white flower he got from Lola, and quickly, he exited the mist and jumped over the earth barrier with just one leap, while the others had to climb, running.

"They're coming!" the Kiri sensor quickly noticed, as the top of the barrier began to fill with rebel soldiers. Naruto advanced without fear the next moment, jumping into the water flowing below them.

"Prepare for battle!!" Kurosuki exclaimed, seeing the situation, while his soldiers were still trying to dodge the giant water waves, the rebel ninjas were running through the water. Naruto used Geppo in the air, still leading the entire group.

"Let's destroy the rebels!!!" The Kiri ninjas continued shouting, while Ringo and Kurosuki grabbed their swords, preparing for the fight.

"Everyone, get ready to attack as soon as I launch the first strike!!!" Naruto shouted while Akame, Mei, Ao, Utakata, and all the others prepared, running through the water. Everyone suddenly noticed Naruto advancing at high speed, leaving them behind.

"Why is he attacking alone?!" Mei murmured, looking at Naruto seriously, as he was approaching the rebel army.

"Can he fly?!" Kurosuki noticed Naruto's feet not touching the water.

And as Naruto was close to them, an explosion quickly emanated from him, spreading in all directions while the water itself seemed to respond to nature, retreating from him.

This surprised both enemies and even allies. "What is this?" The Kiri ninja murmured before Haki passed over him, and immediately, his eyes turned white, making him fall unconscious.

"Hm?!" Kurosuki also felt that pressure, raising his hand in front as he saw yellow lightning circling the entire area. "Is this a jutsu?! Or is he making his chakra explode... what is this business?!" He was utterly confused by that vortex of electricity being emitted. He looked to the side and suddenly saw two of the men accompanying him fallen on the ground.

"What the hell is this?" Kurosuki murmured, and suddenly, half of the Kiri ninjas began to faint, some even falling into the water, being pushed by it with the large amount still spreading through the city.

"They're falling?!" Another ninja murmured.

"How is this possible?!" Someone trembled at the sight of unconscious men being dragged by the water.

"This is a genjutsu, it must be!!" Another accused, trying to quickly break free from this genjutsu.

Kurosuki couldn't believe what was happening; one by one, the number grew from dozens to hundreds and reached thousands. At least more than 3,000 of the 6,000 ninjas had fallen.

"What is happening? How did he knock down 3,000 Kiri ninjas all at once?" Kiri's supporters couldn't believe what they were seeing, as they had never heard of anyone doing this in an instant.

Even Mei seemed shocked along with her companions, looking at Naruto with even fear in their eyes. "So that's what he meant the whole time, that numbers didn't matter to him..." she murmured.

The enemies lost half their army. The rebel ninjas were equally confused and stunned, looking at the battlefield in front of them, seeing that the enemies, who were slightly larger than them, simply fell to the ground. The tide had turned, and the one leading them had turned a difficult war into something unfair for the enemy.

"Prepare for battle!!! Let's defeat the enemy!! But don't touch anyone unconscious or who doesn't pose a threat; we are the ones who liberated this country, not make an unfair massacre!!" Naruto exclaimed to everyone.

"Damn it!! Prepare to defend against the enemy!!" Kurosuki exclaimed. They had no choice now, with their numbers significantly reduced, they had no choice but to try to defend against the larger group of rebels coming at them, and chaos began the next moment.
