Nova's outburst hung in the air, and Cindy's eyes widened in shock before she burst out laughing, the sound filling the room. The laughter was so infectious that it momentarily broke the tension in the air.
Nova blinked at her, dumbfounded by Cindy's reaction. Her big eyes were still wide with frustration and confusion. "What? Why are you laughing?" she asked, her voice carrying a mix of disbelief and a touch of embarrassment.
Cindy struggled to catch her breath between laughs. "I just… I can't believe you said that! And the look on your face!" She continued to chuckle, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.
