The cost of crossing him
When they got home, Alexander took out Cindy's bandages and replaced them with new ones. Her wounds were slightly opened so his face was full of worry as he attended to her injuries, his touch gentle yet firm as he cleaned and dressed the wounds with care. Cindy winced slightly at the stinging sensation, but she endured it, knowing that Alexander was doing his best to help her heal.
As Alexander worked, Cindy couldn't help but admire his dedication and skill. He was always so calm and collected, even in the face of danger, and she felt grateful to have him by her side.
Once he finished bandaging her wounds, Alexander leaned back and studied her with a furrowed brow. "You need to rest and let your body heal," he said softly. "No more adventures for a while."
