The crowd quieted, eager to hear the questions and answers. Cindy took a deep breath, her heart beating a little faster as she focused on the host.
He looked down at his notecards before raising his eyes to meet hers. "Let's start with something simple," he began. "What's Alexander's favorite color?"
Cindy's lips quirked into a smile. That was an easy one. "Blue," she answered confidently. "The shade of the ocean right after sunrise."
Alexander grinned, nodding in agreement. "She's right," he confirmed, his voice warm with affection.
The crowd clapped, and the host chuckled. "Alright, a solid start! Let's move on to something a bit trickier. Cindy, what's Alexander's go-to comfort food when he's had a rough day?"
Cindy thought for a moment before answering, "Tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich."
Alexander laughed, a sound that made Cindy's heart flutter. "She knows me too well."
