Cindy stared at the screen, her eyes wide with disbelief. "He's a Sterling?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she reread the message on the screen. The man on the other side confirmed it with a simple, "Yes."
Cindy's mind buzzed with a whirlwind of thoughts. Why would someone from the same family want to harm Alexander? It made no sense. Family was supposed to protect each other, not turn against one another. She felt a knot tighten in her stomach as she considered the possibility that there was more to this than she initially thought.
