Always and forever
Alexander carried Cindy to the waiting car. She still had on her hospital robes and from the scuffle earlier, the wound at her hand was open and the blood was seeping through her bandages.
Alexander immediately panicked. He put Cindy in her seat before taking out a first aid kit from the car's glove compartment. With practised efficiency, he carefully removed the blood-soaked bandages from Cindy's hand, revealing the extent of the wound beneath.
Cindy winced as Alexander examined the injury, his brows furrowed in concern. Despite his composed exterior, she could sense the underlying worry in his demeanour. She reached out and gently touched his arm, offering him a reassuring smile.
"It's okay, Alexander," she said softly. "I'll be fine."
But Alexander's expression remained grave as he cleaned the wound with antiseptic wipes from the first aid kit. He knew all too well the risks of infection and complications, especially considering Cindy's recent ordeal.
