Because of how clustered everyone was hardly any arrow missed, the poison did work but it wasn't much since the people from behind kept pushing the others sometimes making them fall and get trampled by others.

The front line had shields with them to defend against the attack. Haru and others were behind this defensive line.

This would've been fatal to their group as they can slip while defending just like the others, but…

"I got it covered," Alea conjured tree roots from the ground to tie everyone down so that they don't slip.

"Great, now I can't move as well," Hee-won laughed, she saw the people running at them were already slipping on the ice and falling down like dominos.

Some of them were able to avoid it but these people were on the sides so they had more room to move, unlike the people in the center.
