"We will protect you, Azriel. Mom and Dad are always here," Geo said, his voice breaking. I felt his tears on my face.
"I'm scared," I whispered. "I don't want to lose you both. If it comes to that, remember I love you so much." Geo's quiet response made me tear up.
"I-I love you too," I said, my voice trembling with fear.
"We'll be away for a long time," Ariela said. "Please take care of yourself while we're gone." Her words made me even more worried.
I looked up at Ariela. "Can't I come with you? I'm strong now. You can rely on me."
Ariela smiled sadly and stroked my hair. "I'm sorry, baby," she said softly.
I looked down, feeling a lump in my throat. "Don't worry, Mom and Dad will come back safe," Geo said. I nodded.
"Can you ask Dr. Will to make communicators so we can stay in touch?" I asked.
"Of course," Ariela said. "He's working on it. Now let's get some sleep." I nodded, and soon they both fell asleep.
