Chapter 4- Will Inheritance

Being in a hospital is more of a struggle than I thought. I can't even train my powers because of the cameras in my recovery room all I have been doing is circulating my mana all week pretending to be asleep. But who cares about that I have been thinking about the hero who left my parents to die, and I'm not super sad about it, but he ruined a perfectly good life I could've lived. "And I was just starting to warm up to them" what a shame it is living my second life by myself once again.

"What were you saying young man?" I opened my eyes to see an old man sitting on a stool. Who is this man? Was this dude watching me "sleep"? Haha, well who cares.

"I'm sorry but do I know you old man?" The old man was holding what I can see was a card and some pieces of paper.

"Well this old man is the Hero Association CEO, and I am here to give you a little something. This card here is your money that you inherited from your mother's will and the Hero Association also added some money as well…sorry for your loss, but the rest of your mother's will is inside your apartment that the Hero Association has provided for you." He said while given me the card- well multiple cards about 5 of them and also the papers. Why am I inheriting my mothers will at the age of 14? But what about my father? Why is he not mentioning my father? And also this man is the Hero Association CEO? So much is happening right now.

"Well thank you for this, but what are these papers and what about my father?" I said looking through the papers.

"Those papers are just proof you live in the apartment building and your father's will is with Kate Kuare because your mother and father had separate will. And I'm guessing they planned out their separate will since you and your sister is separated" he said while looking down. So, basically mother gave me her will and father gave Kate his will… I feel as if that's unnecessary considering the fact that she is living in luxury with grandma, and I'm 100% sure she is going to inherit grandma's will. Why couldn't I live with the rich grandma…mother told me stories about how nice and rich her mother is.

"And by the way, your sister was already informed of everything that happened, but she can't come because the streets are closed off currently." When he finished talking, he raised a suitcase and laid it on my lap and glared at me. "The hero who saved you is Cold Ice and his powers will be sealed for 2 years" that's all he said, and I understood what he meant. I watched too many movies and read too many manga and novels to not understand. I looked at him and put on a serious face…obviously I can't beat him in a fight just being the CEO of the Hero Association is already telling me he is strong. I sit up and open the suitcase…there was money in a bag and on the bag wrote big words in marker 10,000 dollars, and there was a phone.

"What is the point of bribing me if I have no one to tell? Did you think I will tell the police? Or maybe post something on the internet about it? There is no point in bribing me old man I wasn't going to tell anyone to begin with... I mean who is going to believe me?" I said as I just smiled at him.

"Well either way keep the money those cards don't activate until next week, and that phone has my personal phone number. I want you to call me in four years since I heard you want to become a hero, and someone will come to take you to your apartment tomorrow" he said then got up ready to leave.

"Hey old man can you do me a favor and not tell people everything going on with me? I'll like to do those things myself if you know what I mean?" I said and closed the suitcase.

"Yeah whatever kid I know what you mean that's only if you promise to call me in four years" He looked at me and I nodded.

Now that he's gone I can finally think about this.

A mission to fight another power user? For what? And how would I even get the chance to do that?. But I'm curious about the reward I will get if I was to complete the mission, but how do I get out of this place? Well the mission doesn't have an expiration date so I can take my time to figure something out. The best time to go picking a fight would be at night, and the best time to leave the hospital without getting noticed is at night. I guess I have to sit here and wait- can't I just ask to walk outside? Well I could, but why would I fight someone with powers in day time? So I guess everything is better at night. I just hope I don't get my ass beat.

(Some Time Later)

It's pretty dark out, so I guess it's time to go out. I got up from the bed and walked towards the window in my room. I opened the window and looked down. I was on the third floor which is pretty high but since I'm a superhuman I could survive at least this much without using powers right? well, I hope so. I vaulted out of the window, leaving the window open for me to return later.

*puff*

I landed softly on the concrete and shot out a gust of wind for dramatic effects. Now all I have to do is find someone with powers and fight. "Do I kill them as well?".

"What's this city's name again? Something like Light City which explains all the bright billboards and signs". Ash was wearing a black hoodie that looked a little too big on him and black sweatpants with dark purple slippers. It was a comfortable outfit for him and was the way he always wanted to dress in his past life, but he couldn't spend money on unnecessary clothes.

"How do I find someone with powers? Do I just sense their-" Ash seen three middle schoolers talking, but he knew they weren't just talking because he could feel mana where they were standing? It's like smelling something and immediately knowing where it is. They were at the park behind the convenient store, 'how should I approach them? Ask them for a training session mixed with a quick talk or…" Ash slicked his hair back and put on his hood. He walked through the alleyway next to the store to access the park. He saw the three kids standing on the mulch near the swings, and one of the kids was moving some kind of blue energy around his hands. Ash smiled and started walking towards them which became a jog then a full on sprint "I have to return to the hospital quickly, so I should make this quick" Ash said before jumping into the air.

*boom!*

Ash's landing startled the kids, and he took advantage of that and rushed at the first kid he saw, grabbing the kid's face and covered the boy's head with flames and tossing him aside while he screamed. Ash then stood still and looked at the other two boys who stuck the together and smiled. He let his arms hang loose and swung his arms back and forth "Flow Art#3: Clash" He ran towards the boys letting his arms sway, but he noticed the boy with the powers was trying to form a ball, but Ash used pressure wind to push him towards them. Ash grabbed the boys heads and slammed them together, knocking them both out.

Ash looked around and noticed a phone recording on the swings, and he had an idea.

{GOOD MORNING, THIS IS MORNING NEWS LIVE AND TODAY IM GOING TO SHARE SOME VERY TRAGIC NEWS. YESTERDAY NIGHT A KID WAS FOUND DEAD WITH BURN MARKS COVERING HIS ENTIRE HEAD. THOUGH WE DON'T KNOW WHO EXACTLY DID IT BUT THERE WAS A RECORDING THAT WAS FOUND ON TOP OF THE BOY'S CHEST REVEALING THE CULPRIT, THOUGH IT WAS DARK SO THEY COULDN'T ENTIRELY MAKE OUT THE KILLER. BUT IT SEEMS IT WAS A POWER USER AS HIS BODY WAS COVERED IN SOME TYPE OF DARK FLOWING ENERGY. PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE, AND DON'T LEAVE YOUR KIDS OUTSIDE WHEN ITS PAST 10 PM}

"It hasn't even been 3 hours yet…maybe killing him was too much". Ash sat on the hospital bed and continued watching TV with a massive grin on his face. Seeing himself on the news and showing off the new skill he got to make him look cool and also project fear in people's heart that a killer is somewhere in the city was an immaculate feeling to him. The thought of people being scared of a power user being a killer and thinking he might kill another time amused Ash.

'This new skill <Aura> is definitely going to be beneficial. It could be a whole power on its on!' Ash manipulated the dark aura around in his hand, trying to make it into different shapes. Though he couldn't detach from his body, it still could do wonderful things just like fire manipulation. But manipulating it was way harder as Ash's face showed immense struggle, and he couldn't even breathe when trying to control it.

"I think I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to use this power keke"
