Chapter 21

“Do you want breakfast?” Kenji asked from his spot next to Dani.

“Sure, but we’re gonna talk about this trip to Japan.” Dani said while getting out of her side of the bed.

“Dani, we don't need to talk about it, I’m not going.” Kenji sighed, walking to the kitchen with her.

“Grab the cereal, ink.” Dani said while grabbing bowls and spoons from Kenji’s cabinet. Kenji grabbed the cereal from the top of the refrigerator and placed it on the table.

“We are talking about this, Kenji.” She said while taking a seat at the table.

“Blondie…” Kenji huffed while taking his own seat.

“Kenji, you should see your family! They miss you! I know it’s in Japan but it’s not like we can’t call or text while you’re gone.” Dani tried her best to convince him.

“Baby, if I do go, and that’s a big if, it’s going to be like a thirteen hour time difference.” Kenji was starting to get upset.
