Chapter 22

“You’re really coming?” Haru’s excitement could be heard through the phone.

“Yeah, my girl convinced me to make time, I’m glad she did. I miss you guys.” Kenji really was happy that he was going, but he still didn’t want to leave Dani for so long.

“Well she is amazing for that. I’ll let my mom know. Thank you bro, we really miss you.” Their phone call ended and Kenji tossed his phone to the side.

Kenji laid in his empty bed with the trip stuck in his head. Dani had gotten called into work after they had breakfast so now he was alone on his day off and stressed about his trip. He knew his cousin wanted him to stay at least a month and that made him nervous. A lot can happen in a month. What if she didn’t want to wait for him? What if she found someone better while he was away?

Worries and questions like this flooded his brain while he stared up at his bedroom ceiling.
