Chapter Four Hundred and Fifty-four

Steve POV

Tomorrow is the last day Anna gave George to comply with our demands, I hope he will do that and not try to complicate things for us. Also, there is a limit to me holding Anna back from doing what is on her mind, I can tell that she wants to hurt Sarah but I have not given her the liberty to do so. I have been arguing with Victor ever since I brought him here, he has not agreed to leave the country with me and I am afraid of what George and his mother are going to do to him if I left him behind. With the money that George is going to pay, we have enough to start afresh elsewhere, I am sure when George heard that I demanded one hundred million dollars, he will be wondering what I need such an amount for, cause he is aware that I am more than that. What they did not know is that I lost the majority of my money in a failed investment and I have been trying to recover my money all these years but it was difficult since am just the vice president of the company.

The money I invested in the casino is not generating what will be enough for the kind of life I want to live. I headed to the room where I kept Victor to try to convince him to leave with me, I walked past the room where Sarah is staying but my step was halted by the voice I heard inside there. I came closer to the door and I can make out Sarah and Anna's voices talking more like arguing, and it has to do with Sarah's pregnancy. Cause Sarah is telling Anna that a psycho like her will not raise her child. Wait a minute, does that mean that Anna wants to take Sarah's child, but that is not in the plan? Does she think that George Will sit back and allow her to roam around this country free while knowing that she is with his child? Did she think that I am a coward and that is why I am leaving the country, she is not aware that George Will double the heat on her after his wife is back? I am afraid that Anna will decide to do something to Sarah, that is why I abandoned going to see Victor and walked inside the room, whatever Anna wanted to say was cut short by my entrance.

I made sure that Anna leave the room before exiting the room, not sparing Sarah a glance cause I don't want to face her accusing stares. Outside the room, Anna told me that she will not be around tonight, that she has somewhere she need to be but she will be around when George Will brings our demands, I did not give a damn about what she do with herself. In her absence, I can sleep comfortably knowing that she will not sneak into that room to do something to Sarah. I wonder where she told her husband that she went to, poor guy he married a devil and call her a wife. I walked into Victor's room, that's what I call it and was met with his cold voice. If you are here to convince me to leave the country with you, the answer is still the same am not going anywhere with you, is better you kill me, He said to me. He can say such words casually cause he knows that I will never hurt him. Yeah, I am here to convince you but there is something else I want to tell you, I told him. What could that be? He asked me using a cold voice.

You are right about Anna, she has another agenda apart from kidnapping Sarah to have George's company, I don't know why I did not see through her, especially when she insisted that we are only to make our move when Sarah is in her ninth month, I told him what I overheard. How did you know this? He asked me but he doesn't look one bit surprised. I guess he already knows about this and if he knows that means George knows as well, here I am thinking that this one will be successful. I don't know what else to do but to laugh at my ill fate, I have never seen anyone as unsuccessful as me. I overheard Anna telling Sarah what she intend to do, I answered him. You are that if Anna succeeds with this and takes away George's child, even if we run to the desert, he will find us cause he has been given enough reason to let loose, so I will advise you to do everything in your power to make sure that Anna will not succeed with her crazy plan, Victor told me. I know that what he said is nothing but pure truth but I still need that money, even if Victor is not coming with me.

I have an idea of what I am going to do, but you have to play your part, the moment I got the signal that George already sent the money, I will distract Anna that will allow you to take Sarah and leave this place, Kyle will escort you out so that others will not stop you, I have this feeling that Anna has people working for her somewhere, I told him my plan. He agreed with it, and without questioning me, I can see that he genuinely care about Sarah. Does that mean that you will not disturb me about coming with you? He asked me. You are an adult, I can't force you against your will and I don't think they will hold you accountable seeing that you brought Sarah back, I answered him smiling. He will be safe even if he is here, it is a win-win situation for everybody involved.
