Chapter 36: The Perfect Counter

~Alex POV~

Oh man humiliating that guy was funny as hell!

HA!

As we all walked away we enter the building preparing our next fighter Geir saw me as she talked to me, "U-Uh… excuse me mister armored warrior but are you really human?"

Smirking at the kid as I shake her hair in amusement I reply to her, "Oh so you're the newest sister of the Valkyries Geir right? It's a pleasure to meet you kid the names Alex Smith but call me Alex ok?"

Geir seems to calm down as Brunhild sighs in relief as she approaches me with a calm voice as we walk to the private room, "Good grief Alex you sure are an eccentric person and arrogant ever since I met you but you have freakishly strong strength to back it up."

I laughed at that as I reply to Brunhild about our first meeting a few 100 years ago, "Yeah that was when I met some of your sisters and as well as call upon your help against those frost giants."

Geir just looks confused as Brunhild just places her hand at her head as she comments on my actions, "Yes I remember that day clearly the dark elves and demons allied themselves in the mortal realm and when I was expecting a hard battle but instead it was you killing them like flies that was truly an interesting meeting."

Nodding my head to her yeah it was an interesting meeting…

As we finally enter the room we finally arrived at the terminal in a special room as Geir asks what the terminal is, "Uh… sister Brunhild what is that terminal it's not one of ours is it?"

Brunhild just shook her head to indicate no as I reply to Geir in a kind tone, "Nope this here is created to search for the strongest and most incredible humans in other worlds."

Geir looked in clear surprise as she looks at Brunhild as she nods her head in agreement as she says to her sister, "Yes young Alex here has provided us a means to defeat those hardy assholes to a ticket to hell and I have to say these people and humans are strong already than the ones we have but that what makes this interesting."

Geir then took her moment as she innocently asked us in an innocent tone, "Uh… guys isn't that cheating what were doing here?"

We both laughed at Geir as she looked annoyed as I began to explain to her, "HA HA HA HA!!! Hell no! Technically speaking we haven't broken anything only that the fight required humans to fight never said where to get them not our problem that they placed these rules now."

Brunhild also added on another comment about the rules, "Ha ha ha ha! Oh, youngest sister you have a lot to learn. We haven't broken any rules and technically we can have Gods fight for the humans it's just that those arrogant assholes won't risk their life on the line for them, but we have our trump card! Alex and the terminal!"

Nodding my head at this Geir just looks surprised as we both began to search for the right person for the job.

Brunhild took this moment as she asked me while we searched for the right person for this fight against Thor, "Say Alex I have to say thanks for you know giving humanity a real fighting chance here and I mean it since we Valkyries hold close ties to humanity."

Taking a short glance towards her I smirked as I reply with kindness as I told her, "No problem you guys are risking your life on the line for this it's only fair that humanity does the same to their allies."

Brunhild nodded in satisfaction from my words.

As we began to search for the person for the job, I type the exact person we need for this job.

We need someone strong and very resistant to blunt attacks.

Someone who will stand up after being knocked down after another never to admit surrendering.

Someone that is completely useless against the likes of Thor strength where it will be meaningless against him.

That was till I typed the right name as an iconic figure appears in front of the two Valkyries sisters as they began to read his profile on him as I say to them, "For the first round we need a human with the freest spirit the likes that the Gods have never seen so this one!"

Brunhild was the first to read his profile as she grinned wickedly at this as she comments of this fighter, "This!!! He will absolutely destroy our Thor in a fight! … this is… Perfect…."

Geir also read the profile as she read the adventures and the trials of this person as she reels in shock commenting this person, "That human is insane! Able to come back from impossible odds against the world his from… and to never let his will waver against such monsters…."

Smirking at this it was time to send in our first fighter after explaining it to him…

Also, I already have something planned against that Shiva although I can summon him to fight against him so long as it entertains him.

~Third POV~

Currently in the Valhalla arena where all kinds of Gods have been assembled to this momentous day of reckoning of Ragnarok.

Humans and gods bear witness to this once and a lifetime moment to see who wins?

Gods or Humanity?

Heimdall is a Norse god and the so-called 'Watchman of the Apocalypse' as he oversees and comments on the fights of Ragnarok.

Heimdall is a short man with a robot-like face and a green hooded cloak that covers the rest of his head, though some black, slicked-back hair is visible from the front, he sorts a pair of protective goggles, similar to those worn by airplane pilots in World War 1 and he wears medieval fur pants and striped shoes.

In the middle of the arena Heimdall, he begins to the announcements with clear joy in his voice, "This is the moment that I've been waiting for ages! The moment to blow this Gjallanhorn!!! Are you ready for this?!"

The whole crowd screams in cheer for the death of the humans as Alex with the Valkyries Geir and Brunhild listen in to the rules from Heimdall, "The rules are simple! Fight to 'Death'. That's it! The winner is decided by the complete annihilation of the other side!"

While the two Valkyries were confident in their choice of human, they couldn't help but be nervous as Alex as well since this fight might be over to humanity doesn't mean he could gauge their strength.

Abilities alone won't be enough to win in a fight.

Sitting in a stone throne Thor awaited till her heard the announcement coming from Heimdall as Thor began to move, "The first bout! Introducing the Vanguard from God's side! This Man! Everybody knows of this God. Everybody wants to see his maximum power!!! His Mjollnir can even tear apart the seas and lands!"

Thor then begins to go towards the arena as Heimdall introduces Thor as he tries to hype up the Gods, "If he's not going to fight, then who else will!?" Live by fighting die by fighting! The Nordic's strongest! The berserker of thunder!!! God Thor!!"

As the crowd was hyped up for Thor but Odin glances at Thor and gave him a single order for him to follow in a cold tone, "Crush and annihilate them."

Thor nodded but looked around to see that Alex was in the stands as he furrows his eyes at him then disappointment as he thought to himself, 'Does this human truly think he that strong to not face me then this being first was pointless if his not fighting at all…'

Brunhild couldn't contain her thoughts calmly as she thought to herself but reassures herself of his opponent, 'As expected, Thor-sama is their Vanguard…. But against this human from his world, it won't be enough to beat him after all he has defeated a flawed claim god before without a Volund.'

Next Heimdall brought out a tablet to begin to hype up the human side as the tablet was given to him by Alex to get the correct information, "And then his challenger!!! The vanguard from the Mankind's side… is this man!!!!"

Next, the doors to the human side open up to reveal a young man wears an open, long-sleeved red cardigan with four buttons which shows the X-shaped scar covering most of his chest, with a yellow sash tied around his waist being seen as his slightly thicker neck, more pronounced deltoids, and better-defined chest and a straw hat shadowing his eyes.

Heimdall then begins to announce the human fighter side as he yells from his horn, "Is it going to end here!? The dream that he has sought after only to be erased to be the test of time! The man that has faced countless foes a being made of sand, a being made of lighting, a cat, a magma man, Yokos, a soul eater, a corrupt system, corrupt nobles, a dragon, or a God? Ney!"

The young man in question begins to walk towards the arena as he smiles through this as he casually walks to the arena earning God's attention as they hold no info on this human to them.

Heimdall then begins to yell out more about the human in question as humankind was surprised to see him exist, "This man is challenging! The will of Mankind!! Hear them out!! Who else could do this if not him!? He is the Freest man since he left his island, Romance Dawn! Does anyone have any objection!?"

Heimdall continues on his words as he introduces the fighters, "And Now! We bring you the tournament for the fate of humanity! Ragnarok and right from the start we've got one hell of a match! Representing the Gods is Nord's strongest contender. The [Thunder Berserker] Thor!! His opponent, representing Humanity is from the East Blue and the freest man in the world that became the new generation [King of the Pirates] Monkey D. Luffy!!!"

Everyone in the human crowd was surprised to see the fictional character Monkey D. Luffy in the flesh as some of the manga and anime fans who knew him smiled at this.

They all thought it was going to be an Enel all over again but in real life.

Geir looked in awe seeing Luffy not giving a damn as Brunhild laughs at this moment and his reason for fighting, "Heh heh heh heh… I have to say his reason for joining us effortlessly is something I didn't think he would agree to."

Alex nodded his head in agreement as he says to Brunhild with a mischiefs smile on his face as he spoke, "Yeah Luffy isn't someone to willingly follow a death match but until I told him that his favorite thing was on the line then he joined on the spot."

Geir then slumps her shoulders down as she recalls how they managed to recruit Luffy into their fight with a depressed face, "Ugh… why did he have to be motivated by that item above all else than the fate for humanity."

The human and Valkyrie laughed at that young one expression.

*VROMM*

A loud sound from Heimdall indicated the start of Ragnarok.

Heimdall then begins the match with his words as the two fighters stared each other down, "Now! Finally, the battle between the two fighters begins…"

However, only confusion entered the room as the two fighters Thor and Luffy only looked at each other none of them spoke…

The man in question finally speaks to Thor as he raises his eyes at his opponent Thor as he greets him in his usual manner, "Shishishi… nice to meet you the names Monkey D. Luffy I was brought here to beat your ass!"

Just like that Thor looks at Luffy like an insect as Luffy shows his glare as he says to him in an angry tone and his reason to join the fight, "Better prepare yourself because I won't forgive anyone for destroying the delicious MEAT of this world!!! MEAT!!!!"

Just like that Luffy's arm stretched surprising the Gods as Thor hit back with his hammer with all of his effort in strength as it matched Luffy's fist that was coated in [Armament Haki] ….

*BOOOM*

A large shockwave entered the arena as Thor was actually surprised to see himself get blown back indicating that Luffy's absurd strength surprised him!

Luffy then got himself up from the shockwave they created as he yells at him, "Don't think this would be easy hammer guy! Because I haven't gotten serious yet!! [Second Gear]!"

Seeing stream coming off of Luffy's body as he readies his [Armament Haki] as Thor was seeing this slighting grin seeing Luffy and thinks to himself, 'Maybe this won't be disappointing after all…'

With that, they both fought to see who wins…

The [Thunder Berserker] or the [King of the Pirates]?
