( 3rd POV )
The afternoon sun bathed the small town in a golden hue, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets. Above, a figure darted across the rooftops, moving with incredible speed and precision. The boy, barely visible to anyone below, seemed to glide effortlessly, his feet barely making contact with the tiles before he leaped again. He wasn't just running—he was flashing across the rooftops, so fast that anyone who saw him would only catch a blur of greyish-white hair and the faintest hint of purple eyes.
Vanze had mastered Soru and Geppo. With each step, he propelled himself higher, his body momentarily suspended above the ground as if gravity had little hold on him. The trees and buildings around him blurred into the background, but his destination was clear: the dense, mysterious forest just outside of town, where the dangerous beasts roamed.
Suddenly, a rustling in the underbrush caught his attention. His sharp eyes zeroed in on a forest boar rummaging through the bushes, unaware of the predator above. With barely a thought, Vanze leaped into the air, his body twisting into position. His leg arched high above his head, ready to unleash his technique.
"Rankyaku!" he shouted, his voice filled with fierce determination. His kick sliced through the air with blinding speed, creating a compressed blade of wind that cut through the space between them.
The boar didn't even have time to react. The wind blade cleaved through the creature, and it collapsed on the ground instantly, lifeless.
Vanze landed softly beside his prey, surveying the scene with a smirk of satisfaction. He stood tall for an eight-year-old, his lithe but muscular frame hinting at his rigorous training. His greyish-white hair, damp from sweat, fell to his shoulders as he bent down to pat the boar, admiring his handiwork.
"A boar for Sister Mira. Getto... Hahaha," he chuckled to himself, pleased with the easy hunt. It would be a welcome gift for the woman who had cared for him like a brother.
With a simple touch, the boar vanished, stored in his personal inventory with a flash of light. "Now, time to head back," he muttered to himself. "Soru and Geppo will get me there in no time."
In an instant, Vanze disappeared, his figure blurring as he raced back toward the town.
.....
Not far from the orphanage, Vanze landed in a narrow alley, the sound of his feet barely audible on the stone pavement. He looked around cautiously, making sure no one had seen his sudden arrival.
The streets were quiet, only the faint chatter of townsfolk in the distance, and the laughter of children playing nearby. Satisfied, he summoned the boar back into existence. The creature's massive body appeared beside him once again, and Vanze hoisted it onto his shoulder with ease.
Walking toward the orphanage, Vanze could feel the curious stares from some of the children and workers. A few of the younger kids looked at him with wide eyes, their gazes shifting between him and the massive boar on his shoulder.
Some of the adults exchanged puzzled looks, but Vanze ignored them all. He'd long grown accustomed to their stares—he wasn't the same as the others, and that much was clear to anyone who knew him.
"Sister Mira! I brought back something for you!" Vanze called out as he entered the orphanage's main hall, dropping the boar gently to the ground. The thud of the body echoed through the room, drawing everyone's attention.
A door creaked open, and Sister Mira appeared, her soft blonde hair falling in loose waves around her shoulders. She was a woman in her mid-twenties, with a kind face that radiated warmth and patience. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the size of the boar, though she quickly composed herself.
"Oh my... What a big boar," she said, her voice filled with admiration as she approached Vanze. For a moment, shock flickered across her face, but it was replaced by a fond smile as she rested a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you so much, Vanze. You don't have to do this, you know. It must be hard for you."
Vanze shook his head, grinning as he met her gaze. "It's fine, Sister Mira. It's not hard at all. I enjoy hunting in the forest, and you've done so much for me all these years. This is just a small thing, really. Don't worry about it," he said, his tone light, as if hauling a massive boar through the forest was nothing more than a casual stroll.
Sister Mira chuckled softly, her eyes glinting with affection. "What a dependable young man. It's hard to believe you're only eight years old with all that strength," she teased, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "If people didn't know you, they'd be fooled into thinking you were much older."
Vanze laughed heartily at her words, a deep, joyful sound that filled the room. "Sometimes, being different is a good thing. With the way I look, I could probably skip past any age restrictions, you know!" he joked, winking at her.
Mira smiled, her expression softening as she looked at him. "You've changed, Vanze, but in the best way. I'm proud of you, and I think... she would be too." Her voice trailed off, the weight of her words settling between them.
Vanze's smile faded slightly, but it was replaced by a quiet, understanding nod. He knew exactly who she was referring to—his grandmother, the woman who had raised him until her passing. "Thanks, Sister Mira," he replied softly.
He shifted his stance, sensing that it was time to leave. "Well, I've still got a few things to take care of today. I'll see you later, Sister."
Mira waved him off, watching him with a knowing smile. "Take care, Vanze. And don't push yourself too hard."
Vanze gave her a casual wave as he disappeared back into the streets. He returned to the same alley where he had landed earlier and, with a single leap, soared into the air. His body blurred again as he flashed from rooftop to rooftop, heading toward the beach where he had spent countless hours training.
Not far away, on a secluded beach accessible only through the dense forest, a figure emerged from the trees. Leaping through the air, the boy landed on the sand in an unusual, weird pose.
( Vanze POV )
I landed with a loud thud, knees bent, arms outstretched. "And... that's what I call a superhero landing," I muttered to myself with a grin, before bursting into laughter. "Hahahaha! Just like Deadpool." But, as cool as it felt, my knees screamed in discomfort. 'Yep, never doing that again.'
[ You look ridiculous, Vanze. It's a good thing there's no one around to see you. ]
"Woah, no need to be harsh, Sis." I sighed, glancing up as if I could see Seele hovering in the sky, her voice echoing in my mind. Was she always this moody, or was she going through some kind of soul period?
Two years had passed since Seele, a part of my soul given form, began to live inside my head. At first, we struggled to get along, but over time, she became like a sibling—my only companion, really. The people on this island looked at me like I was a freak, so Seele was all I had. And despite our constant bickering, I wouldn't trade our banter for anything.
[ Anyway, congrats on finishing the two-year quest, Vanze. ]
"Oh, right! I almost forgot about that." I shook my head, trying to remember the last time I even checked my system interface. "I haven't opened the system since I took on that quest."
[ Do you want to check your status first, Vanze? ]
"Of course! I'm curious to see the result of my training after all this time. Show it to me, Seele."

'Now, that's what I call progress. If I remember right, my stats were mostly F when I started this training. I've come a long way. I couldn't help but smirk at the improvements.
[ For a self-taught, two-year training regimen, it's impressive. You even managed to comprehend Kenbunshoku Haki on your own last year. ]
"Yeah, I wasn't even trying to learn Kenbunshoku at first. I just thought, 'What happens if I close my eyes and focus my senses with Kamigigan activated?' And boom! I could suddenly sense everything within a ten-meter radius." It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least. Even Seele seemed impressed back then.
[ The original KG user could still 'see' even with his eyes closed, so it's not too surprising. ]
"Thanks to Kamigigan and adaptability, mastering Kenbunshoku has been easier than I thought. Now I can perceive everything within a thirty-meter radius."
I leaned back against a tree, glancing at the forest behind me, feeling the subtle vibrations of life even with my eyes closed. The wind rustled through the trees, the distant chirping of birds filled the air, and the earth beneath me hummed with energy.
But every time I activated Kamigigan, my eyes glowed with that eerie, complex pattern. Seele said that as I mastered it, the pattern would fade, leaving just the glow. Until then, maybe I should invest in some sunglasses... or a blindfold.
Chotto matte... Am I heading towards Gojo Satoru's template? Damn, I don't want to die by getting chopped in half.
[ It's a shame you can't extend the range of your Haki any further, Vanze. ]
"It's fine. Haki will strengthen as I grow and train more." I shrugged. There was no rush. At eight years old, I still had plenty of time to develop these skills. Right now, my focus was on mastering Rokushiki. I'd already learned four techniques, leaving only Kami-e and Tekkai for later. No big deal.
[ You also have 188× random tickets and 1× blue ticket. ]
"Hmm, that's a lot. I know I get one every month for free, but one more every week after I finish the training regime from the quest is overwhelming." No wonder I'm rich now.
[ So, do you want to pull the gacha, Vanze? ]
"Of course, let's do a 10-pull, Seele."
[ Ding!

'Good guy... Everything is from white rarity. Is my luck really that bad, Seele?' I groaned, looking at the random haul. Sure, the berries and sea king meat were useful, but a hair color spray? Really?
[ What do you expect, Vanze? It's random. ]
'I don't believe it, again!'

"YES! Finally, I got something good! Hahaha!" I cheered, fist-pumping the air. "How about we do another 10-pull, Seele?"
[ Are you sure, Vanze? Your eyes are red, you're sweating, and you have the expression of a crazed gambler. ]
"That's nonsense! One more won't hurt." I laughed off her concern, feeling the adrenaline coursing through me. Gacha was just too addicting.
[ Ding!

I exhaled, relief flooding me. "Huft... even if most of this stuff is junk, at least I got something useful." I eyed Lucy's underwear with an arched brow. "Women's underwear? What in the actual f—?"
[ I can see you're confused, Vanze. Should I sort your inventory? ]
"Please do." I groaned, burying my face in my hands. I swear, I'm not that kind of pervert.

Blue:
1x Jack Sparrow's Compass
1x Busoshoku Haki skill (beginner) ]
'Much better.' I smirked, glancing at the trendy black sunglasses I'd pulled earlier. Maybe Gojo's aesthetic wasn't so bad after all.
'Oh right, Seele, can you give an explanation for the blue ones? I know what those two things are, but a detailed explanation would be appreciated.'
[ Blue:
Jack Sparrow's Compass
It's an unusual navigational instrument for most people. Unlike an ordinary compass, Jack's compass pointed to what the owner wanted most, rather than mere magnetic north.
Busoshoku Haki skill (beginner)
It is a form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible piece of armor around themself, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities. It can damage a Logia user. (Note: It can only make the user use hardening in some part of the user's body, the user need to train it to make it stronger later.) ]
'First is Jack's compass, it's really a jackpot, but will it work in this world, Seele?'
[ Of course it will, it is a good item especially in this world. The items that come from the gacha will mostly work fine even if it's in a different world. It'll help you a lot. ]
'Really...?' Let's just test it later, but for now I don't need to be worried if I want to find something.
'The last is Busoshoku Haki. It's quite a straightforward explanation, so I can only use a little hardening for now then?'
[ Yes, it depends on your stamina and body after all. It will move to your skill set after you use it later. ]
'It's fine.' Let's wait until I'm ten or twelve before starting to learn Busoshoku Haki, I'm too young and I couldn't keep up with its consumption for now. Anyways, I need to master the last two Rokushiki first.
'How many tickets do I have left, Seele?'
[ You also have 138× random tickets and 1× blue ticket left. You used 50 tickets just now. ]
'I still have a lot, but let stop for now. Even if I pull all of it now, I won't get anyting but supplies. Well, except for blue one.'
[ Alright, your choice. ]
I stretched, my stomach rumbling loudly. "Time to take a break. Why not grill some sea king meat while I'm at it?" I got to work gathering firewood, the fresh scent of the forest mingling with the saltiness of the sea breeze in the distance. Sea king meat was rare and packed with nutrition, perfect for refueling after an intense gacha session.
.....
Lying flat on the warm, sun-soaked sand, I let out a deep, satisfied belch. "Burp... Ah, now that's what I call high-quality meat, hahaha." The waves crashed softly in the background, a rhythmic lullaby to the peaceful beach I'd made my home.
After devouring two whole kilograms of sea king meat, my body felt heavy, and my stomach was so full I could hardly move. I stretched out lazily, the salty breeze brushing against my face. "Ugh... I won't be able to move for a while. Too much meat..."
The sea stretched out endlessly in front of me, a brilliant blue expanse, the horizon melding with the sky. The afternoon sun was beginning to dip, casting a golden glow across the water, making everything seem calmer, like the world itself was exhaling.
The island was quiet, except for the soft sounds of the sea and the occasional distant call of a bird. It was serene, but even this tranquility couldn't stop my mind from wandering.
As I lay there, a thought crossed my mind. "Now that I think about it... my training has slowed down since six months ago." I sighed, glancing down at my hands, still feeling the residual strength from my last workout. "Everything was so easy, even hunting those beasts deep in the forest doesn't challenge me anymore."
I wanted to push myself, to train harder, but what was left? Punching through big stones or smashing reefs? Nothing around here was big enough to test my limits anymore.
[ Your strength now is enough to destroy your own town if you keep spamming Rankyaku, Vanze, ] Seele chimed in, her voice cool and matter-of-fact in my mind.
I gave an exaggerated sigh and a deadpan expression, as if she could see it. "Why would you say that as an example, Seele?"
[ I'm just saying, if you stay here, your strength will stagnate. ]
I stared up at the sky, watching as a few clouds drifted lazily by. She's right, I thought, feeling the truth of her words sink in. I could feel it deep down—I was outgrowing this island. But something inside me wasn't ready to leave yet. It wasn't the time. "Sigh... whatever. Let's head back home for now."
I got to my feet slowly, the weight of the meal still sitting in my stomach. The walk back into town was quiet, the air heavy with the smell of saltwater and earth. The path leading away from the beach wound through a small cluster of trees before opening into the town I called home. Small and medium sized wooden houses lined the streets, rooftops close enough that I could leap from one to another without much effort.
As soon as I hit the rooftops, I took off, jumping from one to the next with ease, feeling the wind whip past my face. It had become something of a habit for me, moving this way. It was faster and, frankly, more fun than walking through the streets.
'Is there really no one who notices me jumping around the rooftops like this? Or is it just some kind of anime logic?' I muttered in my mind, the question gnawing at me as I flew across the town unnoticed.
[ With how fast you're moving, I doubt anyone could notice you, ] Seele replied in her usual calm tone. [ Even the marines that pass through here from the neighboring island are only at Nezumi or Morgan's level. Only someone with Haki could possibly sense you. ]
'Yeah... you're probably right.' I glanced around at the peaceful town below. The chances of someone here having Haki were slim to none. 'If anyone did have it, I'd have been caught ages ago.' The nearby marine base was little more than a stopover for low-ranking officers. No one even close to Smoker's level ever came through. If real pirates attacked this town, we'd be in serious trouble.
Just as I was about to jump to the next rooftop, I paused. Something caught my attention. My Haki picked up distant voices, faint but clear enough to make out. They were coming from an alleyway not far from where I was.
I crouched down on the near rooftop, focusing my senses on the conversation below. Two men were speaking in hushed tones.
"Are you sure about what you're saying?" one of the men asked, his voice low and cautious.
"Yes," the other replied confidently. "The boss heard it straight from a marine at the base. He has to change his course because of it."
"It must be something big if the navy's giving out notices like that, huh?" The first man sounded nervous.
"Maybe. All I know is that the warships are heading for O'hara."
I froze. O'hara?
"Well, not our problem," the first man said dismissively. "As long as our journey goes smoothly, we're fine. The boss said not to mention this to anyone. Only our merchant crew knows."
"Yeah, yeah. Let's get back to the ship before sunset, or the boss'll cut our pay." After that, their voices faded, and I couldn't pick up any more information. They were gone.
My mind raced. O'hara, warships, secrecy... and it's the year 1502. Everything suddenly clicked into place. "Oh fuck..." I whispered to myself, feeling a chill run down my spine as the realization hit me.
[ The O'hara Buster Call, ] Seele's voice echoed in my mind, confirming my guess.
I clenched my fists, standing on the rooftop as the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows across the town. The O'hara Buster Call is happening soon. Shit... What should I do?
