Disqualified Human and Hope Maniac

- Dazai Osamu's Perspective -

It has been a month after Mori-san detain me in his clinic (to prevent me from committing suicide). That doctor is really disgusting. Obviously found me "useful" for his plans but hypocritically acting like he's doing it out of care.

"I finally manage to go out. Where should I go (for suicide)~"

I really don't understand why everyone is working hard to live. Life is so boring and painful, how can they persists?

I walk in the unfamiliar alleys of Yokohama as I spot the magnificent Tsurumi River afar. Um, let's go (drown) here today! I quickly approach the river side and throw myself in the water. As I fall backwards, the scenery of a clear sky above enters my sight as water integrated with my body. As I drift down the river, sudden 'splash' happens fall near me causing me to sink together. My body instinctive reach out for stability propping myself up.

"Ah... I didn't succeed again. Tsk."

"Hahaha, sorry. I hit you, didn't I? I didn't know that the bridge here would have a banana peel lying around. I was really careless."

A young man probably around my age speaks to me as he came on the land while checking his wet clothes. Banana peel? I scan the area on the river and spotted a peel of a yellow fruit floating. From the tone of the teenager, it doesn't seem to be lying. I turn my gaze on him and thought boringly, the guy didn't seem to be "normal". Although I confirm that he wasn't lying about falling into the river, I'm vigilant for his sudden appearance.

"Huh. Whatever. Looks like suicided on the won't work today. I'm troubled."

"Suicide? Why?"

The young man questioned me. I usually won't bother answering such question but I'm interested about his origins so I continue.

"Because life is boring. I don't get why people can bare the time staying alive. Don't they feel suffocated?"

I answer while making the disdainful face to ignite the disgust from the opponent. But the other party didn't seem to respond on my expectation and simply answered.

"Hmm... I don't know much about other people but if it's me... for hope? I guess... Although, someone like me might be quite unbearable to exists but I really want to witness a brighter hope!"

The young man suddenly started talking about the goodness of hope and a long narration for his expectations to "people" that will bring him hope.

[Abnormal]

Dazai sense this man's deep addiction for hope. His institution tells him that he better stay away before he got "caught" into his business.

"Ah. Sorry, talking to someone like me must be very boring."

The young man notice the silence on Dazai's side and finally stop his rant. Dazai ignored his words and turn back. The young man didn't seem to be displease of his rude attitude and continue to stare at his disappearing back.

Shinazugawa Sanemi is preparing to move from slums today. The base of DOLLARS has been settled and all he needs was for (someone) to pick him up. Four years on slum and Orihaya Izaya's fake documents basically solves his identity problems. The stay here also get him acquainted to Akutagawa siblings that appears in the plot.

The relationship between Akutagawa's group and Sanemi can be called in harmony. They're not close to the point of teaming up but basic respect for people living in the same area is still given. Sanemi also encounter several children among them that needed help and he usually doesn't mind lending a hand.

Sanemi doesn't really have much to prepare, basic necessities would be arrange in the base and his place in slum is not really a prosperous one. A knock on the door caught his attention.

"You're here."

"Ah. Should I say, nice to meet you? I just came to pick you up."

"Well, I don't really need to pack things. Just a pretense on the outside to know that I moved. I'll drop by at a place though."

Sanemi is a little dissatisfied with Imai Subaru for picking him up. This is not because he didn't like Subaru but rather it was quite worrying for Subaru who is not a fighting faction to enter slum. But it can't be help because they wanted to create the impression of being "invited" out.

Sanemi and Subaru walks outside Sanemi's residence. Sanemi leads the way as he plan to stop by Akutagawa's place before moving.

*knock* *knock*

Akutagawa Gin became vigilant for the sudden knock on the door, she send a signals to her brother and slowly open the door with a small gap.

"Shinazugawa-san?"

"Ah."

The one outside was surprisingly Shinazugawa Sanemi who rarely visits their place. Knowing that it was an acquaintance, she further the open the door and welcome the visitor. Her brother, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, also get closer.

"No need. I'm only here to say goodbye and those extra-things on my house, you can have it."

"Eh? Will Shinazugawa-san leave here?"

It was Ryunosuke who asks this time. He's quite respectful for Sanemi who brought them a lot of help like a few years ago when his body was weak due to a minor disease, there's also the effect of worship in Sanemi's powerful swordsmanship.

"Ah. I'll leave an address to you, go there if you really need help."

Only then did Ryunosuke and Gin notice a kid beside Sanemi. The blue haired child in glasses had a serious expression standing on the side seemingly waiting for Sanemi to finish. The two didn't refuse and reach out for the paper handed over by Sanemi. The address can be use not only for seeking help but also for checking Sanemi out. They've been indebt to him thus there's a desire to pay him back if possible.

Sanemi and Subaru didn't stay for long and bid their farewell to the siblings.

*Cling~cling~*

The pleasant sound of the bell rang and the door for the bar [DOLLARS] opened.

"Welcome."

"Finally here. The bar looks like it's ready to open."

Decim welcomes the arrival of his two companions, Sanemi and Subaru. He looks befitting in his usual bartender outfit in the counter with the background storage cabinet filled with various wines.

"I'm still tiding things up. Several wine bottle is need to be move in cellar further inside."

"I'll help after bath."

Sanemi walks upstairs without any need to guide, leaving Decim and Subaru on the 1st floor. Subaru didn't say much and starts to help Decim unload the unopened boxes.
