Digging up bones

Right after Nemo teleported out of the alpha's boss room, He arrived at floor 11. While not as busy as the first ten floors, it was still pretty packed.

After walking for about twenty minutes along the proverbial backroads He arrived at his first skeleton away from the crowd.

The skeleton was a decayed yellow and its bones had a few cracks. It was also carrying a rusty sword.

Skeletons were usually only novices at using their weapons, but they did not feel pain and would not stop until they're dust and stones.

Luckily Nemo's rings allowed for the creation of twin maces which gave him an advantage against skeletons. he also chose his beast form as the increased physical ability would be worth far more than magic when used against skeletons.

The skeleton, like all of them, was slow and clumsy.

The skeleton's swing was over extended and thus easy to dodge or parry. Nemo simply swiveled to the side and lowered his center of gravity from the blow, which flowed into his strike. He may have not counted on the increased physical ability that came with level two and put too much power into his blow seeing as though its ribcage was now powder floating in the wind.

A magic stone dropped out of the dust.

Nemo picks up the magic stone and absorbed it.

'Become touched by undeath'

Grants the following: talent for necromancy, elimination of vital points and bodily functions, increased durability, and unlimited stamina. The form takes more damage from blunt, holy, and light-based sources.

After Nemo absorbed the magic stone, he transformed.

His eyes turned completely pitch black.

His entire body from the tips of his toes to the end of his hair turned bone white.

After he turned back into his human form, he saw his new tattoo. Nemo now had a calavera under his right eye.

'The last remnant of what once was'

The form allows access to weaker versions of other forms' abilities. The form also provides derived abilities from absorbed essences. Currently includes the following:

• Beast: Enhanced Senses and Physical Abilities

• Human: Combat Instinct

• Instrument Golem: Sound and Metal Talent

• Skeleton: Necromancy Talent

After a while of Nemo slaughtering the skeletons, the dungeon lights turned red.

The light then swirled and turned into a neon red figure.

The figure was a mockery of the human form, it was too distorted, too stretched out, too angular. It had a massive grin on its face that seemed to mock and hate all that exists in the world. It also radiated power unlike anything I have ever seen.

"Hello there little one." (Red figure)

"What are you?" (Nemo)

"What I am is complicated, but you could consider me the spirit of the dungeon. You see the dungeon was created by Ouranos many years ago to stop the monsters spawning here from continuing to overrun the world. It stopped the war between adventurers and monsters. I came about when all the bloodshed, despair, and pain accumulated over the years in the dungeon coalesced into a being." (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"So, you run the dungeon?" (Nemo)

"The dungeon runs itself, but I can affect it in a myriad of ways. The cost of my power in the dungeon is that it's my prison" (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"Okaaaay." (Nemo)

"You must be wondering why I am disclosing that, aren't you?" (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"Just a bit." (Nemo)

"You see the thing is I've been waiting for a person like you." (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"Not interested in a relationship at the moment." (Nemo)

His brow and mouth started twitching at that but did not do anything.

'That's very informative. He needs me for something. It was worth the risk to find out that he won't do anything to me as long as I go along with him.' (Nemo)

"Not like that. You see the thing is that I'm effectively a god of dungeons which allows me to take someone else's divinity. So, if you become a god of monsters, we can become close enough existences to each other. I can possess your body and be released from this prison." (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"So, what's in it for me?" (Nemo)

"You win our little agreement. You get to become a god of dungeons and monsters, that's pretty powerful. Powerful enough to take down such a powerful god like Hades." (Spirit of the Dungeon)

"And if I lose "our little agreement" I release a being that I've come to believe is a true monster upon this world. However, I have the feeling if I refuse you will kill me and my revenge will die with me, so we have an agreement. How would we go about this agreement?" (Nemo)
