He got reincarnated back in time - 4 years after the game’s release! Armed with a few years of advanced knowledge from his previous life, he decided to once again take the gamble. Forced by his gang to play the game he decided to reach the top. This is the story of Jules - a man who threw himself back intending to rule above everyone but with many being already 4 years ahead of him, will he succeed?
Lark nodded and asked, "Boss, what about the first village? Will they elect a headhunter like the new group?"
Glitch rubbed his chin and said, "It depends on different situations. Most likely, the village will split apart into different hunter groups, and each of these groups will have one or two head hunters."
Glitch pointed to the first small vertical line. "You see, this vertical line represents the action of that first hunter that led to the creation of the head hunter title."
Lark pointed back to the straight line. "But boss, why is the development line flat? I think each of these groups will create their own separate methods, so shouldn't the line need to have some kind of upward trend?"
"You are not wrong about the small development that each of the groups is going to have, but keep in mind that no matter how advanced they become, the top position of that group will still be a headhunter. Can you guess who could be the second genius here?"
Lark looked at the second small vertical line. Compared to the other few big vertical lines, it was the smallest, but he noticed the boss made it thicker than others. It hit him that maybe the work of this genius would not be that big, but it would open more paths.
He thought for some time and said, "Boss, I think a group of Shakhans could not survive only on hunting ability. They need to have different abilities to create a functional group. I think this second group's genius is not an individual, but the entire group."
Glitch clapped. "Damn, I did not expect you to say this. You are absolutely right. Out of all the groups, only those who realized this would survive. You know what will happen to the surviving group."
Lark shook his head and said it in an uncertain tone. "They will form a new village."
"That is true, but the main thing is that each of these newly created villages will have multiple positions and titles that are not related to hunting."
Glitch grabbed the stick, made a circle to the side, and wrote H and V on it. "This is the first village with only hunters and normal villagers."
Lark nodded his head. "Yeah."
Glitch then made multiple circles around the first circle and made arrows from the main circle to the other circle. "These arrows are your headhunters."
Lark pointed to the other circles. "And these are the new villages."
Glitch nodded his head. "Yeah. Now that these fresh groups have to create a village on their own, they will require many other skills. Like builders, managers, guards, and more. The longer the village survives, the more diverse the titles they will create. But no matter how diverse they became, do you know what the highest title they can have?"
Lark did not have to think much and said, "The village head."
Glitch gave a fist bump to the little guy's shoulder. "Bingo."
Lark looked down at his shoulder. He still did not understand the fist bump, but he smiled in satisfaction.
He once again looked at the graphs. Now he understood why this graph did not have any upward trend. "Boss, these straight lines represent the top position in the space village, right?"
"Yup."
Lark rubbed his chin with the back of his hand. "Boss, I understand that in the study path, everything revolves around knowledge. No matter how dumb a creature is, if they just learn the already-known stuff, they would still contribute to the spread of the knowledge. While on the path of hierarchy, everything depends on the social standing of the species. No matter how much they diversify in other paths, the top of the hierarchy will remain the same."
Glitch nodded his head. "Yeah, you can think that if someone died after becoming the village head, would that position disappear?" He shook his head and said, "Nope. The others in the village may have conflict, but in the end, the villagers will just choose a new leader. This way, once a space village has a hierarchy, there will always be someone on that level."
Glitch added. "Out of the three paths, the path of hierarchy is the most balanced in terms of the stable generation of top powerhouses in the space village."
Lark nodded in understanding, but then he noticed the circle with the question mark, so he asked. "Boss, but what will be the intermediate grade this time?"
Glitch glanced at his assistant and smiled. This was his biggest achievement. Never in his past life had an assistant asked him for reasoning. They either followed his order, ignored it, or just did their separate things.
He smiled at this fresh change and knew that this time he was on the right track.
Glitch did not show on his face and said, "Well, you already knew this path works on standing. So here, instead of developing intermediate grades based on the number of spells, we could mark it based on the number of ranks a creature needs to climb."
Lark looked uncertain and said, "But, boss, won't there be too many intermediate grades this way? After all, there will be many new titles in the new villages."
"Nah, we could only focus on the key title. Let's equate each of them to the hunter title. So the first will be a simple creature with no title, then they will become a hunter, then maybe a senior hunter or a team leader. This depends on the situation. The last on this list will be the headhunter, one of the absolute top positions in the village, and you know the top one already."
"Village head."
"Yeah."
Lark asked, "But boss, what if they do not become the elite grade even after becoming the village head?"
Glitch pointed to the graph. "Well, then we have to wait for a new top rank to emerge that will most likely form when these villages fight against one another."
Lark looked at the graph. Now he understood what it meant for the path of hierarchy to be based on titles. "The next will be the leader of multiple villages, right?"
"Yeah." He also added. "What I am telling you is just one way, and there are multiple different ways for rulers to increase the speed of their space village by using the experiment lab and species library."
Lark nodded his head. He knew each ruler had an important role in the Space Village's development.
He looked at Glitch in relief. At least his boss is smart and knows a lot of things. He asked, "Boss, what are these path geniuses? They can't be pioneers, right?"
Glitch shook his head. "This path is full of legends and heroes. A hero who challenges the current system and creates a new one. It's slow, but with each new legend, more and more hierarchy will be added to the space village. In this path, the ruler's role is more of an observer who needs to find and support these candidates toward their legends."
Lark scratched his head. "Boss, is the ruler of this path unable to take part directly, such as becoming a legend themselves or something?"
Glitch shook his head. "No. A ruler cannot stay in the space village for long. So they should change things from outside, though the same could not be said about the assistant."
Lark looked at him with wide eyes. He did not know what this little guy was thinking, but it was easy to guess.
He patted the little guy's head and asked, "There is no point in learning much about other paths. It's much better if we focus on our path, right?"
Lark nodded his head and took a deep breath. He knew this was the most important information for him. After some time, he nodded his head and said, "Okay, boss, I am ready. Let's talk about our path. The path of evolution."
