"Hey! Hazel, where are you going?" Lyra whisper-yelled as she followed a running Hazel down the stairs. "Hazel! Stop! You're gonna get us both in so much trouble!"
Kira couldn't hear a word of anything as she was too focused on confirming her suspicion.
She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, her eyes searching for Sofia. In her mind, she hoped it was just a coincidence, because she wouldn't be able to stop herself if...
Her gaze abruptly stopped on the very person she'd been looking for. On the very person who'd killed her!
Her fists clenched in indignation as she peered at Sofia, who sat on a couch, busy chatting happily with her so-called husband and mother-in-law.
She was about to take a step forward when,
"Don't even think about it Heather." Rose's cautionary voice rang out as she appeared in front of Kira.
"Hazel please, let's go back to your room now." Lyra pleaded, and tried to grab her arm, only to be given a death stare that made her freeze momentarily in astonishment.
She'd never seen such an antagonistic look from Hazel in all the fourteen months of knowing her!
"Oh, Hazel. Come here, I want you to meet someone." A male voice called out to her.
Kira glanced at her supposed husband and the woman beside him, before giving Rose a smug look and walking over to them.
Her husband's happy expression instantly changed when he saw the lethal look on his wife's face. She really looked like she was about to murder someone right there, on the spot.
"Wait, let me guess. This is your wife Hazel?" Sofia asked, glancing at Hazel with a small smile.
"I'm I right Killian?" She asked again seeing as how Killian was a bit distracted.
"Uhh...Yes, you're right, this is her..." He said, still confusedly staring at Hazel, as her behavior was completely alien to him.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sofia." Said Hazel in a mocking yet confident tone, holding out her hand, while adamantly ignoring the hateful glares her mother-in-law was giving her.
Lyra's eyes grew wide in surprise, as she stood near the staircase. 'Since when does Hazel talk like that?!' She wondered. Her friend had always been so humble and docile...
She wasn't the only one though, as both Killian and his mother looked stunned at the very least.
Sofia didn't know why she felt a sense of danger upon shaking Hazel's hand. She felt a familiar aura exuding from her, and goosebumps covered her skin. The look in Hazel's eyes was enough for her to abruptly pull her hand away in fear.
Hazel confidently took a seat, making herself comfortable next to her husband. She elegantly crossed her long legs, a faint smile gracing her lips.
"What on Earth...?"
"What's going on with the young Miss?"
"She's really asking for trouble."
Some servants who were watching wide-eyed from the kitchen whispered to each other.
Rose on the other hand had an amused look on her face, as she gazed at Heather, wondering what the young lady was up to.
