Chapter 15: Leap of Faith...or Death.

As he climbed the stairs, Suijin reflected on what he'd been doing, running around trying to find bots to defeat, meeting interesting people who he may be seeing in the school, warranted he gets in.

Finding others who formed a team with him as the lead...semi-leader...He shuddered a bit as Mina came to mind, but back to his exploits, he practically bribed some people to go and protect others.

And now he was climbing up some not-so-safe, and hazardous stairs to reach a roof, reaching this building hadn't been easy, since now his goal wasn't to kill the bots but to avoid them.

He opened the door to the roof and felt the air pushing against his skin. Suijin was on the tallest building in the area, overlooking this entire entrance ground.

He could see the chaos that was unfolding around him, various bots were being defeated, with a high-speed kick to the body, tangled up in vines, or blatantly punched in the head.

He noticed a group of people who had grown to a significant size in such a short period. They congregated north of him, and after amassing such a force, they were more efficient in their efforts to help people who needed assistance.

With a guilty conscience, he averted his gaze to the main attraction that had been on his mind since he first arrived here.

A boy, small from his perspective, and a colossal villain bot were engaged in combat, 'That's the zero pointer.'

The boy would blow up pieces of metal on the bot before being blasted off himself, while in mid-air, explosions were fired off from his palms, and his small body was propelled by them back onto the bot.

"DIE, YOU DAMNED PIECE OF METAL!"

'Loud as well,'

Suijin looked at the carnage below the 0-pointer as well. Metal that was blasted off fell onto the ground, raising a metallic hell, reminiscent of a scrap yard.

But the boy didn't seem to mind as he continued to blast the zero pointer. 'Glad I chose this area, away from that.'

STOMP

STOMP

STOMP

STOMP

In the distance, a stampede was coming towards his building, and in front of it, his eyes made out a tired and annoyed Mina along with Yuga who also wasn't looking too hot.

'Wonder who called the incompatibility between the two and the situation?'

He looked and saw that in about forty-two seconds, the street that Mina was running down and the one Tsu was on would merge.

Street View

"Mi amor, Please save—" A slight pain stimulant on his arm quickly closed his mouth and had him turning around and firing his naval lazars once more.

Ribbit

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm just—AHHHH"

Mina crouched down, avoiding a lamppost thrown at her and by extension, Yuga. The lamp collided with an old, rusted building, which collapsed as a result of the impact, sending a minor rumble through the ground.

CLAP

"Wow, Impressive! That's great reaction time and flexibility."

"I'm used to sparring with my friend, whose quirk makes him a little too rough to take hits from. In addition, I've regularly taken dance classes since I was a child."

Tsu nodded while continuing to hop along, she'd heard Mina's heavy breathing and Yuga's face that screamed, 'I'm going to pass out/vomit/or die soon.'

"I can take him."

"I'll be fine, Huff we're almost at the building, and having someone who can respond quickly to changes in the plan is required."

.

.

"Why won't you move."

Suijin had his front foot on the ledge of the building, he'd tried moving his body toward that sweet spot that was required for the plan to succeed but it wouldn't budge.

"Fear?" he asked himself, "The boy who's won constant awards for his charisma and outspokenness."

RUMBLE

Once again, his eyes were drawn to the scene, he opened them up all around him, not just in front of him, and took in everyone's view.

'Would it really be unfounded? People my age can go toe to toe with villain bots that topple buildings, Those whose personalities make up the qualities of a hero are shining. Where does little Suijin fit in there.'

The look, of that person he passed by before, the Desperation in his eyes played back in his mind.

'I didn't leave for my plan.'

"I left because I was scared."

Huff

"That's it, that's what's been bothering me today. The fear that I would become him, stuck in a weak state and helpless, completely at the mercy of others. That's what I was afraid of—" He said in self-reflectance.

"—That's why I looked away, Does someone like that truly deserve the shot at becoming a hero? This position that millions are vying for would be wasted on them, right?"

Sigh

Before he could think any further, Suijin's building shook, The vibrations being sent out by that one examinee's fight with the Zero Pointer were enough to shift the already fragile foundation

CRASH

With the bottom of the building collapsing, the entire place was evidently coming down, and Suijin's mind and body finally both agreed that he wouldn't go down with it.

Tap

Tap

Tap

The weather decided to start a light drizzle at that moment as well, and so the sound of Suijin, who'd run all the way back to the entrance to the roof, and his footsteps made an audible sound.

Tap

Tap

Tap

His mind wasn't in sync with his body and yet for the first time ever he felt like he knew what was going to occur, no hesitance, no questioning, only the inevitable reality.

'I may die!"

Jump

Despite such thoughts, he jumped off the roof just in time as it collapsed. The rain had already formed puddles, which, with his sight, allowed him to view himself at this height.

His hands flailed around, helplessly looking for something to grab onto, not wanting to witness his imminent death, he turned around.

'Is this it?'

Mina and Tsu, who were running towards him, saw a dust-covered Suijin, jump off of a falling building and right into his death.

'This wasn't in the plans right?'
