Chapter 23: The Festival has Arrived!!

"AAAAAAND WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE ANNUAL U.A SPORTS FESTIVAL!" Present mic shouted over the intercom as a stadium full of people cheered loudly. "We have cameras tracking our contestants throughout the obstacle course,along with many other battles." Present mic said as we pan over to class 1-A and 1-B as they are stretching and warming up for the race ahead of them. "Alright,is everyone ready?!" Mic asked as everyone shot a thumbs up to the cameras watching them. "Okay,let's begin this race in 3..2..1..GO!" Mic shouted as everyone took off. The race to the stadium and arena was on as everyone encountered the first major obstacle(s). Massive roots,the same ones from the entry exam were on the path as well as roadblocks. Fully functional and everything. "Tch,they seriously thought this would be enough to stop me!" Bakugou shouted as he used his explosions to launch himself into the air and completely blow up one of the faces of the 0-pointer robots. Bakugou kept using his explosions as jet propulsions to keep moving forwards but not before he was easily blitzed by Enel taking down three 4-pointer robots "work smarter not harder dumbass!" Enel said as he zipped by him. Max was simply using basic speed boosts and short teleportation skills and Luna was flying with her wings and burning her obstacles with her fire. "Damn class 1-A has some heavy hitters this year." one of the pro heroes watching said as we cut to Bryce and Frisk using a combined D.T attack to slice a dozen robots in half. Todoroki used a massive wall of ice to freeze the robots over,and Izuku was surprisingly keeping with Bakugou. "After that fight with Papyrus,it truly showed me just how much i need to improve,i've gotten a bit better with controlling one for all so here goes" Izuku thought to himself as he tried to course one for all throughout his entire body instead of just his arms. Izuku then is able to take down dozens of robots at a time since his entire body has been strengthened due to one for all. After some time the first people who make it to the actual obstacle course are Max ,Luna, Bryce, Papyrus, and Enel. Max was watching everyone and had no problem with the course thanks to him being able to teleport and fly. Luna did the same as nothing could touch her. Max and Luna were told before that their score is added to their grades as a bonus so they basically don't really care about the event but won't be last place by any means. "Might as well show people some true speed." Bryce said as he took out a mask it appeared as a pure red glowing kitsune mask with dark and light red patterns. "What the hecks that?" Frisk was running at the same pace as Bryce "this is a quote on quote special ability. It's a mask of condensed Determination that I've been gathering for a few years now. When I put this on it's going to be extremely painful but it's going to give me a hell of a lot of strength and speed see ya later squash." Bryce said as he put on the mask and one of the eye holes a bright red light lit up as Bryce dashed as he was enveloped in a dark red aura as he bounced off obstacles and saw Izuku. Bryce dashed next to Deku and grabbed the back of his shirt. "Here let me give you a hand." Bryce said as he threw Izuku forward.

Izuku landed near the finish line and ran inside. Max and Luna tied for second as Bryce and Enel tied for third. Bryce took off the mask as he was breathing heavily while gritting his teeth. After a bit Bryce calmed down and everyone got to the finish. "Careful Bryce, it's dangerous to focus power and embody it. Especially Determination, imagine what would happen if i changed your emotions to let's say sadness or madness. The energy would collide and you will be gravely injured if not dead. Plus that stunt you pulled used a month of determination. Things like what you just did use a lot of energy to boost beyond what is normally limited. It literally broke your physical limits and received no permanent damage which is normally impossible unless you use a technique or item that is extremely compatible and has a tone of energy. I used to have a few but they never lasted much more than a day's worth of use. Just be careful and don't waste something like that" Max said as he went and got a drink. Bryce grabbed Max's shoulder. "One i know what i'm doing when it comes to the mask I know what i'm doing two even if the mask were to dissipate i can easily get the determination back since i found a quick way to make it, three even if i do die do you think i care i don't fear death like others and i'm not dying without becoming a hero-." Bryce said as he looked around and saw everyone staring in worryment. Max grabbed Bryce's arm and bent it a way so he lets go and can't move the arm. "Oh, you have an emotional imbalance, I'm surprised you have it under control to some extent. The only way for you to make another mask with the same amount of power is to siphon other's determination as you and I have a maximum output. The technique is called [Ritual] which many people in the past used to replicate powers of gods or demons inside objects that contained anguish, rage, envy, and so on. Its dangerous to do so so don't try it. Also you should fear death, those who faced it never came back the same. [Emotion Bane]" Max said as his eyes glowed red and balanced the emotions inside Bryce before letting go. "Use the mask as a last resort, not something to use casually. Imagine if you were using the mask longer. You could have killed someone out of rage. One last thing, the mask doesn't only rely on the energy you store in it, it takes quite a bit from the user as well" Max said as he took a coke out of the air and drank it. "Tch how do you know so much about my quirk anyway." Bryce said. "You aren't the first with that quirk, well back then it was magic but anyway, let's say you're not the first one with that soul inside you. Your quirk was researched quite a bit by demons and others to see if they could use others to boost their own power. I can't even replicate your effects to that degree. Your quirk is half finished" Max said. "Ugh demons sometimes I think you're from another world no sometimes I think you're from another dimension with the shit you say." Bryce said, looking away. "Oh, every word I said is true, before quirks, there were magic users but they were quite rare. One day the normal people wanted power so they kidnaped and experimented on witches and warlocks and things alike to get more power. This eventually resulted in what you know now as quirks. Magic user's were dying out as the quirk population grew too much. Also you aren't the only one with another soul. I have six additional souls in my body. Not very good when I go to sleep" Max said as he summoned another coke and offered it to Bryce. Bryce took the coke. "Dude either I'm in a dream or you really do come from another dimension. If something like that did exist it would be recorded in the history books dude."Bryce said as he calmed down and drank the coke. "History is never really that accurate. They did not want to be seen as bad people so they decided to forget the entire thing and act as if they were chosen by gods. They were fools and didn't expect their kids to have powers as well. Magic users went into hiding soon after and this is it today, i can probable explain any phenomenon" Max said as he took out his cigarette and started smoking while keeping the smoke in a bubble. "....yeah definitely another dimension." Bryce said as some people nodded. "Relax, I was born on earth…..I think." Max said as he was pondering on that himself. Bryce heard him and turned his head in disbelief. "What's the next event?" Luna asked. "If I read the manual correctly it should be something with headbands and teams." Bryce said. "This will be no problem for me," Luna said as her wings fluttered a bit. "Ummm what about your quirk?" Bryce asked with a confused expression. "Oh, i should be fine, no one can touch me, let alone take from me" Luna said as she retracted her wings. "Now i remember, it's gonna be hard for you since the teams have to have 1 person on top and 4 people holding them, at least that what i believe i remember so yeah gonna be kinda hard for your team the best thing can do is stop people from taking your team won't be able to move." Bryce said as he made little models made from determination. "One of my failed experiments can help with that" Max said as he snapped his fingers and 3 full suits of closed armor appeared with glowing blue eyes. "These were prototype armor for Luna, sadly they can only resist infinity for about 2 hours before the break but i put robot golems inside to move the armor" Max said as he was proud of his work. Max and the droids lifted up Luna easily. "Well I should be the leader of my team due to my abilities." Bryce said as he looked around. "Ok how about Enel, Cally, Sans, and Paps." Bryce said as he thoroughly thought out his team. As Bryce gathered his team Max went around and gathered people for his team,and same with everyone else. A few minutes passed as everyone was ready. "Okay people,this will be a cavalry battle,the person on top has a head band worth points,your job is to get as many headbands and points as possible,if your cavalry gives out then you will be disqualified,and won't move on to the last part of the festival" Mic said as everyone was ready. Bryce sat atop his cavalry. Enel made up the front charge,Papyrus and Sans made up the sides,and Cally made up the rear. "Okay,ready..GO!" Mic shouted as everyone began to move and grab at each other's headbands. "Ok Cally if anyone comes from the back use your light abilities to blind them. Sans and Paps if you see people from the sides and they get to close use your blasters asa shield and enel you wont need to really worry since i'm on top but if im looking away don't be afraid to give someone a shock, ill spread my determination throughout you all so we'll be faster." Bryce said as his calvary started to glow slightly red. "And time for the next part of my plan. "Bryce said as he mass produced some glowing hands of the colors red, orange and green, yo enel the hands conduct electricity do you mind shocking a few?" Bryce asked. Enel spread electricity throughout the ground as a few teams unfortunately stepped on some metal plating and were shocked. "Bryce,go in and grab those headbands,i'll try to get us closer" Enel said as he motioned for the team to start moving in the direction of the downed teams. "I ment shock my dt and other hands but that works too." Bryce said as he made some hands fly towards the teams that got shocked. "Out of the way you damn extras!" Bakugou shouted as his team was barreling towards the downed teams. "Here it comes,Sans,Pap,we'll need a wall of defense," Enel shouted as Bakugou got ever closer. Sans and Paps summoned some blasters and maneuvered them as a wall. Bakugou however had his team launch him off of them and into the air. "Let's see if this works" Bakugo thought as he flew above Bryce's team and landed right back on his team and ended up taking the headbands from the downed team. "You gotta be quicker than that!" Bakugo shouted smugly while laughing. Bryce then made even more hands that swarmed Bakugos team "no i just gotta be smarter." Akido said smugly. "Next up,Half n Half's team" Enel said as he took a deep breath and shot a large burst of electricity through the ground which then was molded into lightning spears which came up high enough to block Todoroki's ice attack. "We'll need some firepower to take this team's headbands" Enel said as he nudged Bryce. "Heh alright." Bryce said before using his bravery aspect turning him oranges with gauntlets and a thick black line coming from each of his eyes, Bryce then held up his hand and a powerful orange beam shot out. "Good shit!" Enel said as the blast was blocked by a bright red barrier. "Two can play at that game Bryce!" Frisk said as he summoned multiple red knives that swarmed around Bryce's team. "The moment you break one,3 more will show up" Frisk said as Enel had an idea. "Bryce,I just had an idea" Enel whispers as Bryce nods. "Let's do this!" Bryce says as electricity starts to crackle around the team,Bryce then floods Enel with D.T and uses it like a current between himself and Enel. As this happens the lightning turns bright red as the entire team gains a red glow. "Let's send their team flying Bryce!" Enel said as he could feel his blood pumping faster and faster. "Okay ,combination move: Determined Shock!" Bryce shouts as the red electricity is then fired at Todoroki's team,sending their entire team toppling down. Bryce then snatched the headbands they had and now Bryce's team had 5 headbands in total. Each having 100 points, which puts them in second place,right behind Max's team at 6,000 points but since Max's team is only playing for fun since they are not really supposed to participate because of their quirks Bryce's team is technically in first. "Only one left, and low and behold it's Max's team" Enel said as he heard Jirou cheering him on from the sidelines. "Looks like you've got a fan Enel" Bryce said mockingly as Enel blushed "yeah,yeah, let's just get this over with" Enel said. "Firstly lets go the other way and steal some other teams headbands. We literally can't get close to them without getting trapped." Akido said as he looked at everyone else. "Hey how are you 3 doing down there?" Akido asked as he saw everyone sweating. "We're doing great." the three said with a smile. "That's good to hear." Akido said as his aura got brighter "now let's get out of here." Akido said as he motioned the group to turn around. Max and Luna did what they were told and got the minimum requirement to pass this stage and then backed into a corner so Luna won't freeze others by getting in the way. Bryce's team then took down the rest of the teams and as the time ran out the points were tallied up. "Looks like most of you made it to the next round. Next up, The tournament Battle. Give us a moment to set up the tournament brackets." Mic said as everyone went to their gender assigned locker room and rested a bit.
