Chapter 16: First Place

"Ooooh! Kazuki has already reached one of the circles!" Present Mic shouted aloud. "What can you say, Mummy Man?" Hearing no answer from Aizawa Present Mic continued watching the screen.

"Look, all you support companies around the whole country!" Mei stretched her hands.

Kazuki sighed and continued to use his quirk propelling himself to the sky.

"A lot of different are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraser Head?" Present Mic asked Aizawa.

Shoto used his ice quirk to slide his feet at the rope. 

"Oooh! The leader has already finished the second obstacle!" Present Mic said.

Kazuki continued running, he looked back to see Todoroki trying to catch up to him. "Hmm?" Kazuki also noticed another figure, it was none other than Bakugo.

"Damn it!" Bakugo shouted aloud.

"My older brother is probably watching," Iida said. "I can't let him see me act uncool!" Iida balanced his feet and used his quirk to slide on the rope, his hips shaking while both his hands spread out.

"That's so uncool!" Present Mic shouted seeing Iida's move.

"That guy in first place is way ahead." One of the spectators said.

"His quirk is really strong." Another spectator said.

"Yeah, you saw that? He just punched the Robo Inferno into bits!" Another spectator commented.

"But the second one is also strong." A spectator said. "That's the flame hero, Endeavor's son."

"Goooooo Kazuki!" Furui continued chanting. "You can do it, son!"

"Ooh! It seems like we have a supportive father in the crowd cheering for his son Kazuuuuki!" Present Mic shouted aloud and the camera moved to Furui.

"Kazuki!" Furui pulled his clothes revealing a Kazuki's face imprinted on a white T-shirt.

"Ooooohhhh! Talk about parental loveeee!" Present Mic shouted aloud.

"Dad...." Hinata kept tugging on Furui's shirt. "Stop your embarrassing us..."

Kazuki halted and arrived at the final barrier. 'Mines.' 

"And now we've arrived at the final barrier! A minefield!" Present Mic shouted. "It's set up where you can tell where the mines are if you look carefully! So you have to exploit your eyes and legs!"

"By the way, these landmines are for games, so they're not that powerful." Present Mic added. "But, they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants!"

Kazuki once again turned around. 'I need to use a bit more wind pressure to get to the other side.' Kazuki jumped high up and flicked his fingers pushing his body.

Todoroki also arrived. He carefully placed his feet. 'I see. This is an obstacle that puts those in the lead at a disadvantage.'

Bang!

"Kehe." Bakugo used his bombs to make him fly. "This doesn't affect me."

Kazuki who saw that there were many people on the landmines held his hand and took out a rock. "Watch your steps!" He said and flicked his hand shooting the pebble at one of the landmines.

Boom!

"W-Wow!" One of the students lost his footing and stepped on the landmine. "Shit!"

"Oooohhhhhh Kazuki used a tactical approach!" Present Mic shouted causing the crowd to explode.

"Tch! You bastard!" Bakugo shot to the sky. 

Kazuki continued to fly high up.

"You!" Bakugo managed to close the gap between them. "Die!" Bakugo touched Kazuki's chest and exploded.

"Ooooh! We have a new no.1! Rejoice mass media, it's the kind of development you guys love!" Present Mic shouted.

"Woahhhhhhhh!" The crowd exclaimed.

Kazuki staggered for a bit. He glared and rushed once again catching up to Bakugo.

"Ooooh, what's this?! Kazuki doesn't give up and starts sprinting to get his 1st place once again!" Present Mic shouted. "Hey, Hey the rest of the pack are also speeding up!"

Kazuki grabbed Bakugo's hand, and with a bit of force, he threw Bakugo back and ran off. 'I can't lose!' He shoots himself up in the air regaining his lead.

"Kazuki!! Goooo!" Furui continues shouting.

Boom!

"Tch?" Bakugo stood up and glanced at the back.

Todoroki turned his head watching the huge explosion.

"There's a huge explosion at the back?!" Present Mic shouted. "What's with that force?!"

A figure flew from up high.

Allmight stood up his hands pumped.

"Oooooh! Was it an accident, or did he do it on purpose?! Class A's Izuku Midoriya is in hot pursuit with that blast! He's taken the second lead!" Present Mic stood up and shouted.

"Wooooahhhhhh!" The arena burst in excitement.

'I flew just like I'd planned. But there's so much force! And I didn't think about landing!' Midoriya's face contorted.

"Deku!" Bakugo used his quirk and flew. "Don't get ahead of me!"

Shoto created a path using his ice. 'This'll give those in the back a path. But I don't have time to worry about what's behind me!'

"Wooooahhh Kazuki is still in the lead! Meanwhile, the former second Todoroki and Bakugo are now sprinting trying to regain their spot! The fight's not over yet!" Present Mic shouted enticing the crowd.

'Grab the chance you got to get in front of these two! Even if I can't keep up with Kazuki, I must at least!' Midoriya thought. He held the rope on the shield. 'Just the two of them! I must take the lead!' He pulled the rope and once again slammed the shield.

Boom!

Another explosion occurred, Midoriya rolled a couple of times but continued to run. He glanced up above, his eyes met with Kazuki. 'I have a chance!' Midoriya continued running.

"Ooooooh! Midoriya has taken the second lead! Would you believe it?! Midoriya has now occupied the second place!" Present Mic shouted putting his foot on the table.

'Tch.' Kazuki looked behind him, Midoriya was sprinting. "As expected."

Todoroki and Bakugo rushed and were now at Midoriya's back.

"Eraser Head! Your class is amazinnnnngggg!" Present Mic shouted aloud. "What're you teaching them?!"

"I didn't do anything. They got each other fired up on their own." Aizawa raised a smile underneath the bandages.

Kazuki landed on the ground and ran using his quirk. He glanced back at Midoriya, he jumped, and turned his body around. "Sorry Midoriya." He flicked his hand and created strong pressure pushing Midoriya as well as Todoroki and Bakugo.

Midoriya managed to hold on, he gritted his teeth and ran with all his might.

Todoroki and Bakugo sprinted as well.

Kazuki continued running, he was near the exit.

"UA sports festival, first-year stage! Right now the first person in the stadium is that man!" Present Mic shouted with all his voice. "Kazuki Uchiku!!"

Kazuki broke down in a sweat. He had a proud smile on his face. He raised his right hand into a fist.

"Wooooooahhhhhh!" The crowd exclaimed.

"Kazukiiiii!" Furui shouted at the top of his lungs. "Kazukiiiii!"

"Dad...." Hinata covered her face. 'This is too embarrassing!'

"Followed by Izuku Midoriya!" Present Mic added. "Next, Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo!"

"M-Midoriya!" Izuku's mother who watched the sports festival on the TV bursted into tears.
