Daniel began to growl and stand to his feet, but when the door opened, he became stunned. A huge man clad in a green polo shirt appeared, his weight causing the hover car to tilt and go back to its normal position when he came down.
Rubbing his messy hair, the man hollered, "You survived, but I expected you to look worse. This is a nice upgrade. "
"Shut up and get us out of here," Derek scowled and finally closed his eyes, falling into slumber. He had kept himself awake so the kid would not panic, without their discussion making Daniel feel calm.
He might have acted out of panic, and Derek wasn't in the state to handle anything, even if it was an ant.
Well, now that most ants had mutated, they couldn't be underestimated anymore, but Derek didn't have the time to think of a smaller insect.
"You must be Daniel, I've heard a lot about you" Daniel heard Gavin speak and lift Derek off his back, giving him the chance to shrink back to his small form.
