Despite Roland's constant questions, Emily replied that it was classified information and couldn't be discussed in a vehicle. With no other choice, Roland could only curb his seemingly endless questions. He watched as the airplanes they arrived in were taken away whilst the number of vehicles that headed to the second gate increased, making him frown.
"Those dead birds will attract several beasts, and supply isn't stable, so we could make do with bird meat instead of letting them rot or bring beasts to our zone"
Emily saw Roland's expression and explained, she was right, for Roland had to begin to think there was a problem.
After a while, they reached the tall walls; the gate made a deep booming sound and slowly opened. Once they crossed the gate, Roland first sighted fully armed soldiers and vehicles, the same kind he saw outside, but these were fewer and from the spaces, Roland figured they belonged to the vehicles outside.
