Starting as a Bodyguard

Early in the morning Dimitri woke up from a gentle knock from the door. He had a good sleep. So his mind is clear as water now. All of his tiredness has gone now.

"Sir Dimitri, it's morning now. We should prepare to go out."

Dimitri heard the gentle voice of Ms. Susan. He woke up lazily and opened the door.

Dimitri then noticed that Ms. Susan's eyes were wide from something. Her face kinda turned red and she hurriedly looked back.

Dimitri then noticed that he didn't put his shirt on. His upper part of the body was without any clothes. It was his habit from earth. So he didn't wear his shirt at the time of sleeping.

Dimitri suddenly felt embarrassed and closed the door. The situation was quite awkward. He put his shirt on and opened the door.

To avoid the embarrassing moment Dimitri said, "Good morning Ms Susan. Are we going out now?" He was acting like nothing happened.

Ms Susan composed herself and replied with a nod. Then she sent him quite a simple breakfast. Then she hurriedly left.

Watching her leaving like that was quite funny from Dimitri's perspective.

Although Dimitri was not hungry, he tried the food after simply washing up. This breakfast couldn't be simpler, a bread with potato fry. But it's quite tasty. He finished it quite fast.

Dimitri then left the room and found out that Ms Susan is ready for the journey and a huge backpack can be seen on her back. It should be quite heavy. But Ms Susan seems okay with it.

Dimitri asked the system, " Can you check her level?"

"Ding, Ms Susan is a level 2 mortal. She is even twice stronger than you when you were on earth." Dimitri heard the mocking voice of the system.

"System, do you have emotion? My gut feelings tell me that you have human-like emotions." Dimitri was curious about it.

System replied, "It's all the host's imagination. System is upright and only follows the system rule. System doesn't know how to mock others."

Dimitri gave up after hearing the system's reply. System was clearly lying, he thought.

This conversation with his system lasted only a few seconds. Dimitri then got close to Ms Susan and asked her for the backpack. It's quite unpleasant to look at a young lady with that kind of huge backpack.

Ms Susan was a bit confused after hearing that.

Dimitri then asked, "Do you know anything about storage artifacts?"

Ms Susan nodded her head and replied, " Cultivators used them to store their belongings. I heard this artifact cost a lot." From Susan's perspective it seems Sir Dimitri has this kind of artifact.

Dimitri Then took the bag from her back and stored it into system storage. He has a kinda smug look on his face and tells Susan that he has a storage artifact.

Ms Susan was not a dmb person. But she looked a bit suspicious. Storage artifacts are quite costly and from what she knows Mr Dimitri has lost everything on the way. So, where he suddenly got this storage artifact from!

Dimitri suddenly realized that he messed up. He shouldn't have any storage artifact with him from the story he made up and told Aunt Su and Ms Susan. He quickly made up a ready made story and told her this storage ring is quite special and he got it on the. There was nothing inside it.

Susan nodded her head but she didn't completely believe his story. She was worried about her father's condition and did;t want to wait any longer. So, stop asking anything further. Having a storage artifact is quite convenient for their journeys.

DImitri breathed a sigh of relief after avoiding another awkward situation. "It seems he had to be more careful in future. Ms Susan is pretty quick witted." If her father was not ill then she should have been more suspicious about him.

Anyway he got away easily.

Ms Susan looked at her father and closed the door. Both of them then started walking. Both of them were silent. Dimitri was not good at making conversation. So, he silently followed her. After walking a couple of minutes Ms Susan stopped in front of a house and knocked on the door. Then Aunt Su opened the door and she handed her house key to her. They made a quick conversion and Aunt Su looked toward Dimitri once. Dimitri nodded his head from afar and greeted her silently.

After a few minutes Ms Susan looked toward Dimitri and started walking towards the city gate. Dimitri started following her again. He quickened his walking speed and started walking beside her. The distance between them is only one feet.

"Ms Susan, Don't worry we will definitely bring back the herb and your father will get well soon."

Susan nodded her face with a kind smile on her face, "I have to rely on sir Dimitri until we find the herb."

Dimitri didn't speak anymore and gave her a slight smile to assure her.

"It seems Mr Dimitri is willing to help me. He doesn't have any ulterior motive. Having a storage ring is quite suspicious but everyone has secrets. I have to rely on him for this journey." Susan didn't help thinking about herself.

They got close to the city gate. The city gate still looks huge from Dimitri's view. Although he read many cultivation novels about the cultivation world it still surprised him.

Both of them passed the city gate without any problem. Dimitri looked toward the massive forest a few kilometers away in front of him. It gave him a creepy feeling. His level is enough to venture into the outer area of the forest. It shouldn't be dangerous for him. Ms Susan as a normal person is not afraid, he as a cultivator couldn't chicken away.

At the same time Ms Susan took a deep breath and looked toward the forest. She has never been there. It's her first time going out of the city. She has no idea what she would do if she didn't have someone to accompany her. Having Mr Dimitri with her gave her courage to save her father. She was really grateful toward this young man.

Susan looked toward Dimitri and both of them made eye contact. They started walking toward the forest. It should take them thirty to forty minutes to reach the forest area.

That's how Dimitri's first mission as a bodyguard began. "What future holds he doesn't know. Now he can only complete the mission and get the reward. He also can help Ms Susan to save her father. He is unable to be filial to his parents so helping others will reduce his physiological burden."

A question suddenly came to his mind. He was dubfolded for a second. He quickly asked, "System, do you have any medicine which can help Susan's father to recover from his illness?"
