The Attack(chapter 4)

After arriving home, Henry sighed as he thought, "Well, that was something." Just as the ninja figures in red had suspected, Henry did see them and the body in just a second but pretended he hadn't seen anything, going about his business. "Well, it was a good choice anyway. Not only was the guy dead, but if I wanted to stick my nose into places it didn't belong, especially in this world where fucked-up shit is just starting to awaken, it's a sure way to die," he mused to himself as he looked through the ingredients he bought this morning. "Plus, the people in red seemed to be some sort of assassin or secret organization. I don't want to be on anyone's radar." However, that might have been too late. he sighed as he prepared different portions of elderberries and ginseng.

The reason why he prepared these materials was that both of them had effects that could help reduce fatigue or increase energy levels. "Hopefully I can get the desired product and make a potion that helps my fatigue," he thought. He was making these potions because he wanted something to help him recover faster from a day of hard labor, even though it was aided by 1st tier strength tonic. As an alchemist, of course, he wanted to have more time for making things rather than just sleeping.

 Chapter 4

Still inside his home, with all the blinds down and the windows and doors closed, Henry had his hands stretched out, his eyes glowing. Between his outstretched hands were two different green liquids, which were melting together before they mixed and churned, forming a strangely blue color for some reason. After they finished mixing, Henry opened his eyes and kept the liquid afloat with mana before pouring it into a small test tube. "I really need to make specialized storage for these. I can't always keep them in a cooler. What if I need them immediately?" he thought to himself as he remembered the figures in red clothing. "I need to prepare just in case i get a visit" he sighed and then looked at the status panel of the new item he created.

"20% increase in energy level and 20% reduction in fatigue," he smiled, though there were bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. "Well, let's see." He then drank the whole potion, which was just a couple of ounces, and immediately felt the difference. He was feeling energized, but most importantly, less fatigued. "Oh, this is good." Henry was more than happy with the result. He got up to do some stretches and was very pleased. "Now, every time I am tired, I just take a sip of this and will be ready to go, gosh i am starting to love popping drugs" he mused as he then took a look at his planters, where a status panel appeared in front of one of the plants.

[ Grade: 1st (Growing) ]

Seeing the status panel, Henry was more than happy with the condition of the plant as he thought, "Well, with a real-time feed on how the plants are growing, I should be able to optimize it and get it to 2nd grade, which hopefully with my skill, I should make 3rd grade potions." He then checked on all of them and, much to his relief, they were all growing very nicely. After checking on his plants, still tired, Henry, who was developing an addiction to making potions, immediately used all of his leftover beetroot and ginseng and separated them into portions. He washed each portion and trimmed them, leaving him with the parts he wanted to use.

He did this to save time since it would be easier to turn the prepared material into liquid as the potion synthesis skill not only cleans the materials, it purifies them which takes time and therefore increases the risk of failure, which he then mixed, turning it into a potion. But much to his disappointment, he only got grade 1 potions. Of course, he wasn't going to throw them away. "Well, I still have 17 more portions left," he thought, so he spent the next couple of hours constantly running out of mana, then sleeping for 100 minutes to recover his mana which sleeping wasn't required he just had to not activate his mana to recover but he wanted to sleep. He would then wake up and use 100% of his mana again, until he finished with all 17 remaining portions. Out of those 17 portions, 14 were grade 1 and 2 were grade 2, which had the following stats:

The remaining portion was used to make the one he was currently holding, which was a small test tube containing a reddish liquid. "Hhhhhhhh, I am an alchemist," Henry yelled in his mind. It was late at night, so he would rather not get reported and evicted; otherwise, he couldn't care less whether his neighbors woke up. He had finally created a 3rd grade strength tonic.

"50% muscle strength, 50% blood flow improvement, and 50% increase in endurance, and the effect lasts longer." It was safe to say that he was more than happy as he held the small tube. Although he was tired, he was not that tired as he had been popping some Vitality Elixir, getting rid of his fatigue. Just as he was admiring his greatest creation so far, as if the world suddenly stopped, Henry, who was busy admiring his creation, suddenly felt something. His body moved by instinct as he suddenly fell forward onto his table, as something passed over his head—something fast, something sharp, and something that would have definitely killed him.
