Chapter 40
On her way back to home, Camellia felt that she must act faster than her original plan. It is almost a week already since the first attack and the war had never stop since the first day it start. Camellia tried her best to remember all her memories in the past few weeks. As far as she can remember, there is nothing strange happen to her. Of course except the part where she help the injured wolf up the mountain. She never have any interaction with outsiders of her village. She keep on questioning herself.
"Did I happen to forgot something? Did I make anything that makes them …? Did I offend someone other than Riana? Why do they want me to be the king's bride? How did they know about me?" wonder Camellia to herself. She keep argue with all the possibilities happen to her.
Not enough with the questioning herself on her way back, she also had the same one running around her mind as soon as she wakes up the next morning. And of course the dream still come visiting her mind that night. Those damn erotic dream only make Camellia's body shiver and shudder every time she remember them. She can't believe that it makes her panties wet from uncountable times already. With those two things keep bugging her mind, Camellia felt exhausted and her energy draining as if she just done climbing the mountain.
In the early morning, Camellia wake up with chaotic mind. She greet her parents full with energy although she isn't in her best condition. She had make up her mind to do it no matter what obstacles she need to face. With their living condition, they can't possibly living in fear all the time. They need to work and bring money to the house. So, the only way out Camellia can see at the moment is that she need to stop the war by sacrifice herself. She have to.
Camellia continue staying inside her house as she want to spend as much time as she can with both of her parents. She want to finish knitting the sweaters and scarves for them. She only need to knit around another two balls of yarn for her father's sweater. And then she will spend around another five or six hours without leaving her sit to knit two winter scarves for her mom and dad. She did not even leave the couch for toilet break until the launch time arrived. She rushing to make them as perfect as she could so that it will keep her love ones warm during the cold season.
After all morning knitting balls of yarn, Camellia finally done making a sweater and two piece of the winter scarf for her parents. She plan to let them both try it on after having the hot meals cooked her mom. Her heart thumping loudly as when she remember it will be the last day before she left.
She will miss the taste of the meals make by her mom. And hear the jokes make by her dad. She blame the one who make amends, asking for her to be the bride of the king she never care about. She will miss everything around her. She will treasure every single last minutes and seconds left with her family of three before she leave.
Camellia almost burst crying while chewing and swallowing the food in front of her. She doesn't want to make her behaviour seems suspicious. So, she just hold herself back from letting the tears in her eyes flow out.
At the end of the meal, Camellia chewing the last bite of food in her mouth. Lifting up the glass of water before take a few gulp of the liquid in the glass. Camellia clear her throat and interrupt the elders' conversation.
"Mom, dad, I have something important to tell you guys about." Start Camellia smoothly with her determined and serious face. The room become tense as she said that very sentence. Her mom stop talking with her dad. All eyes on her that moments, stare at her in silence as if give her permission to continue. When the room getting tense, Camellia smile sweetly and told both of the truth. She want to break the happy news for them. She want to make it as if it is an announcement surprise for them.
"Hihihi… just kidding. Drop your serious faces. Nothing important actually. I just want to tell you both that I have done knitting some winter clothes for you guys." Said Camellia when she can see the nervousness of her parents on their face.
"Why? What's wrong with your reaction? Did I make something wrong? I just wish to see you both try them on later, I can alter and make some adjustment on them if it needed. I want you both wear them during the winter season. Will you make my wish come true?" Continue Camellia full with eagerly and earnestly. When there is no answer from both of them, Camellia make a pout with her mouth and her eyes round as the cat's eyes in the 'Puss in the Boots' movie.
"Lia, darling. You make us worry over nothing. I thought it is something… I don't know… weird? Important? And of course I will try on the clothes made by my daughter." Camellia mom's said, showing a small smile on her face. It make both of the elders release a heavy breath. They almost feel like having a heart attack with the sudden act Camellia put on.
"Hahaha… Of course child. Of course, I will put it on without hesitation if it is from you too. I'm willing to wear them everyday if possible." Said her dad after laughing to himself in order to ease the tense atmosphere in the room. He want to make the room lively back and lighten the mood of seriousness in the room by replacing them with his laugh.
"Hihihi… thanks mom, dad. I appreciate if you willing to do so. Oh… And I want to spend my time in the room after these. I want to read some books and take a nap for a while. I'm tired from knitting non-stop just now. Can I do that, mom?" ask Camellia with her big hopeful eyes.
Unknown to them, the plan made by Camellia will make them both left speechless and regret with their choice to stay hiding in the house. The shocking news will make them refuse to believe that they make a wrong decision and should just left the house and village along with their only child in the first place.
