059, a war hammer on the tip of the tongue

Zaire's Secret Base

In a lounge completely covered with gleaming metal, the lights were bright.

A metal bed was tossed into the corner.

The electromagnetic stove hummed rhythmically.

Above it, in a frying pan, freshly thawed Glox beast steak sizzled in the greasy butter.

At this moment, Zaire was crouched by the bed, focused.

He drank from a can of Stagg beast milk, patiently waiting for the steak to cook.

Perhaps a side effect of his powerful metabolism.

Ordinary food was no longer enough to meet Zaire's daily needs.

So, he gradually started experimenting with foods that were harmless and wouldn't pollute the environment: Warhammer provisions.

This opened up a whole new world for Zaire.

Apart from the occasional 'cannibalistic' products used as a joke, most Warhammer foods could be considered exotic delicacies.

Not long ago, after much hesitation, Zaire gritted his teeth and tried one—and found himself hopelessly hooked.

Maybe, there was no such thing as junk among the scraps recovered through his salvage function.

It was just that Zaire hadn't figured out how to make full use of it yet.

Ten minutes later.

With his mouth still greasy, Zaire finished his midnight snack.

He stood up, satisfied, and paced slowly around the lounge to help digest.

As he wandered, he absentmindedly activated the simulator.

After some thought, he pulled out the long-awaited Solar Void Combat Armor.

Boom!

The heavy combat armor floated in the air before landing heavily on the metal floor.

"Heh heh…"

Smiling, Zaire crouched down, continuously running his hands over the armor, as if to feel the hard texture with his fingertips.

Then, without any guidance, he began to put on the combat armor before him.

A few minutes later, casually grabbing his chainsword, he strode out of the lounge as if charging into battle.

He jumped into the training field and went wild.

This reckless behavior, seemingly just to burn off excess energy, continued until he was interrupted by an Iron Man, returning to the base hall with a large load of building materials.

Before long, the Man of iron, standing two meters tall, positioned itself at the edge of the training field.

Its two metal arms folded in front of it like a poised butler.

At this moment, the blue light in the Iron eyes flickered slightly.

It addressed Zaire, who was still wielding the chainsword:

"Good evening, honored Omnissiah."

"Good evening, my friend," Zaire replied, stopping his swings.

He removed the enclosed helmet of the combat armor and tucked it under his arm.

With beads of sweat on his forehead, Zaire walked over to the Man of iron, smiling.

"Uh... friend, don't you think it's time you had a name? It doesn't feel right to keep calling you by your serial number."

In response, the Man of Iron bowed slightly, and even its mechanical voice seemed to carry a hint of longing:

"My lord, names are mere labels, especially for mechanical beings... but if you wish, you may call me 'David.'"

"David?"

Zaire blinked in surprise, then nodded in approval.

"Alright, from today onwards, you'll be David… By the way, how's the investigation I asked you to handle?"

After confirming the name, Zaire's tone shifted abruptly, and the previously relaxed atmosphere grew tense.

The Man of iron, now David, bowed its head slightly, as if retrieving information from its metal cranium.

Then it spoke succinctly:

"The Hydra secret bases are scattered across the globe, with one at both the North and South Poles… Europe has the most contact points, and there are quite a few in the Americas. The news of Kingpin's death and the power shift in New York's gangs seems to have put Hydra on alert, as their traces have almost vanished from the entire network…"

"However, I've already identified some real identities from previous contacts. The closest to us are several federal government senators, mid-level military officers, and a few high-ranking generals."

The blue light in David's eyes flickered as he continued:

"As for S.H.I.E.L.D., they appear to have a separate internal communication network, so I could only gather limited information. However, with the names you provided, I've identified some low-ranking Hydra operatives."

"For now, this is all the data we have on Hydra."

Upon hearing the report, Zaire narrowed his eyes and sneered.

"Cut off one head, and two more grow… I'd like to see how many heads this group of heretics has for me to chop!"

Before finishing his thought, Zaire said, "Let's not alert them just yet. We need to map out their entire organization structure… Unlike the Orks, simply cutting off their leaders might not be enough."

He then asked, "What about Roxxon Industries? What's their situation?"

David's eyes flickered again, his metal head tilting slightly.

"My analysis suggests Roxxon Industries and Hydra are not partner organizations, or at least they only have overlapping interests in certain areas…"

"Roxxon seems to be solely interested in profit from Terra, with tendrils reaching into the entertainment industry, media, and politics. Their goals differ from Hydra's world domination. While cooperation between them is possible, their ultimate aims diverge significantly."

"There are also rumors that Roxxon's CEO, Dario Agger, may not be human…"

"Hm?"

Zaire's brow furrowed as he softly muttered, "Alien influence?"

He narrowed his eyes, sinking into deep thought.

Sensing this, David fell silent and waited patiently.

A few minutes later, Zaire spoke.

"Then we'll deal with Roxxon first… Heretic forces can wait, and we'll take them down all at once. But for aliens, I don't want to wait even a minute longer!"

David bowed slowly, his metal head glinting under the lights.

"Understood, my lord… Roxxon Industries will pay dearly."

With that reassurance, Zaire nodded.

Without looking back, he headed toward the lounge.

As he walked away, his voice echoed back to David.

"David, this is your domain now—don't let me down…"

"I just need to know where to go and who to cut, got it?"

The blue light in David's eyes suddenly brightened significantly.

"As you command… Omnissiah!"
