As the Prince of Asgard, before coming of age, and due to the soul of his previous life being somewhat incompatible with the mighty body of the Aesir Protoss, his strength was feeble, and he never ventured beyond Asgard."Maybe the Sorcerer Supreme won't even bother with me until I become a huge threat to the whole planet," Caesar mused, pondering the situation briefly before deciding not to dwell on it. "After all, Asgardian gods like us have always shielded Earth."
With their ability to refract light, Caesar and Valina stealthily trailed Carol, opting to stay hidden in the shadows.
...
"All Skrulls on this planet should be eradicated. They're disgusting parasites!" Varina exclaimed, watching the Skrull attacker morph and flee. She moved to pursue but was halted by Caesar.
Varina's history intertwined with the Skrulls when she hunted Hela around the tenth century AD and encountered Sarkar. The Skrull Empire, one of the universe's three major powers, had existed far longer than imagined. It seemed Varina harbored a personal vendetta against the Skrulls, perhaps stemming from past conflicts.
"We can't reveal that yet," Caesar said, his tone pensive, before gently probing Varina, "But why condemn all Skrulls?"
Asgard isn't a mere planet but a suspended continent, crafted in the depths of the universe by the Aesir gods using potent technology and magic. Its coordinates are deeply concealed, making entry and exit arduous, with Bifrost being the usual swift means of transit.
As the Prince of Asgard, before coming of age, and due to the soul of his previous life being somewhat incompatible with the mighty body of the Aesir Protoss, his strength was feeble, and he never ventured beyond Asgard.
Thus, Caesar's knowledge of many civilizations remained limited. His insights into the Skrulls were solely derived from the memories of his past lives, firmly retained within him.
Valina spoke vehemently, "They're all repulsive, foul bugs!"
"Can you fathom? They haven't an ounce of unique technology to call their own!"
"All their advancements, all their dominion, stem solely from their shapeshifting prowess!"
"One glance, and they can effortlessly alter their form, even mimicking short-term memories!"
"Could you imagine? Perhaps your beloved, your confidant, was but a guise by some unseen Skrull? Merely to taste the joys of others?"
"Could you imagine pouring your heart and soul, countless toil and sweat, into pioneering the latest technology, only to have it pilfered effortlessly by Skrulls?"
"Even the most revered hero, the mightiest monarch, the beacon of the masses, could be swiftly supplanted by Skrulls for myriad motives? Then, gradually, they'd steer a civilization from the top down?"
"Most grievously, these cursed bugs once targeted Valkyrie and even sought to get Bifrost's secrets. Had our guardian, Rig, Heimdall's ancestor, not seen through her facade, they might have succeeded!"
"Know this: they often slay the original beings they impersonate."
"That Valkyrie is my dearest friend!"
"They're all damned!"
Upon hearing this, Caesar became increasingly wary of the Skrulls.
"These guys are just repulsive!" he muttered to himself.
Despite his distaste, Caesar didn't see eye to eye with Valina's proposition to exterminate every Skrull they encountered. He had his own perspective on the matter.
Trying to reassure Valina, Caesar spoke up, "From what I've gathered, there's no Skrull Empire left in this realm."
"Their homeworld got obliterated by the Kree Empire. Most of them perished, and only a handful managed to escape."
"They got what was coming to them, those vile creatures."
"But the ones that slipped away aren't going to be easy to hunt down, and the Kree Empire should move fast to track them down."
"Their knack for hiding is revolting! It's been a while, and they're still managing to evade capture."
Valina seemed somewhat relieved by this information, but then she inquired skeptically, "The Kree Empire wiped out the Skrull Empire?"
"I always thought the Skrulls were ahead in terms of technology, with all their stealing. Shouldn't they have been stronger than the Kree?"
"And wasn't the Kree initially like a puppet state for the Skrulls? They got a lot of their tech from them. Has their tech really advanced that much?"
"Maybe?"
"Who knows how such a massive and ancient superpower got taken down in such a short time?"
"There's probably a big secret behind it all."
"But in the end, it doesn't really matter."
"I'm just surprised to learn that the Kree started out as basically a Skrull colony."
"Maybe that's why the Kree Empire has always leaned towards military rule!"
With a sigh, Caesar concluded his thoughts.
