Marvel: The Silent Mad Dog

English is not my first language, so expect some bad grammar. I own nothing. But let me warn you, there will only be one chapter ahead. ________________________________________________________________ Rain can cause floods which can wash away the entire village. A single bolt of lightning can cause a large forest fire. A slight tremor of the earth can cause a tsunami that can reshape the whole coastline. Cruelty is just another aspect of human beings; using it to cause harm will lead to further cruelty. Human understands what cruelty means, but they also don't. They don't understand it. If they don't understand it, then they will act on it. Born in a world as a mutant, the mad dog will show its teeth and bite down at the cruel world.

~Ryu POV~

Creating a new soul by combining different fragments of souls into a new one? That seems impossible if you ask me, but then again, what do I know about magic and science?

Nothing, so maybe it's possible to create a new soul using this method.

Magic is the power that comes from the supernatural, something that science cannot describe because, according to science, magic is impossible, and to do magic is to do something impossible.

In the past, when humans didn't understand something, they would blame it's on magic, but sometimes those so-called magic would be proven fault by science in the modern-day.

Maybe, in the end, magic is just another form of science we genuinely don't understand yet.

Like...

Let's say if one day, everyone can perform feet that seem to be physically impossible, and all of these does not relate to some mutation, or anything, what if one day, an average human was be able to fly with no explanation, no mutation or anything, we would call that magic.

What would happen if everyone in the world could perform these impossible feet? Of course, people would try to find out how possible and learn everything about it.

Then, would that magic still be called ''magic'' when we know everything about it?

Probably not.

It's like when a human performs a magic trick, pulling a rabbit out of a box or a hat, if we don't know how they do it, we would call it magic, but when we all know how to do it, we would call it a magic trick, a trick that makes it look like the person is performing magic.

So, in my opinion, magic is just another branch of science that we have not understood yet because magic had been kept a secret so that nobody would know about it, which led to not many people trying to understand it.

Oh look, Mary finishes her chanting, that good then.

"So... Is he alive now?" I ask Mary who put the book down.

"No, why would he? The spell that I cast only fuse the souls into one new soul; right now, the soul is still inside the body, where it's not alive but is, and you can call it ''sleeping'', the soul would continue to ''sleep'' inside the body before it leaves the body.

When a person's heartbeat stops, they can still bring back to life because their soul is still inside the body.

For the soul to awake, what it needs, is the body also to be ''alive'', and when I mean ''alive'' I mean that the heart of the body needs to work so that it can pump the blood around the body, which is also the soul, and with it, the soul of the body would be ''awake'' again." Mary explained before looking at me.

After hearing her explanation, I look back at her even though my face might look expressionless. Still, in my mind, I have no idea what the hell did she just said; she lost me after a few seconds into her explanation, but I'm not going to let that show.

"You have no idea what I just did you?"

Ok, how the hell did she know?

"Are you some esper? Do you have a sort of mind-reading spell?"

"No, it just your expression show me clearly that you don't understand, not to mention the fact that you didn't respond to me and simply look at me."

"Ok... So what are you going to do now?" I ask, changing the topic.

Mary seemed to roll her eyes before walking toward the head of the table where the monster head resides, her hand sparking with electricity.

"Well, the first thing I need to do is restart the brain before restarting the heart.

Because if you know, the brain sends and receives chemical and electrical signals throughout the body.

Different signals control different processes, and your brain interprets each. Some make you feel tired, for example, while others make you feel pain.

To make the body ''alive''. I need the brain to function correctly first and make it work properly; I need the brain to receive information from the body first.

You see, your brain has something called grey and white matter.

Grey and white matter are two different regions of the central nervous system. In the brain, grey matter refers to the darker, outer portion, while white matter describes underneath the lighter, inner section.

Grey matter is primarily composed of neuron somas, and white matter is mainly made of axons wrapped in myelin. Grey matter is mainly responsible for processing and interpreting information, while white matter transmits that information to other parts of the nervous system.

I need to restart the brain so that these two parts can work appropriately because without it, well, the brain would not work." Mary said while having her hand on each side of the monster head while seemingly sending electricity inside its brain.

I stand there, not knowing what to do at this point, I would leave the room usually because I have already done what I need to, but at the same time, I am interested in what Mary is doing right now.

There is only a slight problem, though.

'There she goes again, explaining science stuff, while I have no idea what she is saying. She seems to love to explain sciencey stuff to other people, not caring about whether they understand or not.' I thought to myself.

I keep looking at what she is doing, and I can see that the intensity of electricity coming out from her hands seems to be increasing slowly but steadily.

At this point, you can probably hear the sound of electricity cracking from outside the room due to how intense she is producing electricity right now.

After a few moments, Mary clapped her hand together on both sides of the monster head, and the sound of electricity became so intense that I thought there was lightning striking the castle right now.

Suddenly, the monster body starts to shake violently, and Mary takes some steps back with a wide grin on her face; she seems to be starring at the monster in front of her intensely.

Even though she let her hands go, the monster body still shakes violently, and I think I can hear the sound of its two hearts beating loudly, and I can see the veins of the monster being bulging and see the blood running around the body.

Finally, something unexpected happened, I could see the monster mouth open, and the next thing that I heard was the sound of an animal roaring.

No, an animal roaring would be not how I describe it. The sound that comes out of this thing mouth seems to be something that should be impossible; it sounds out of this world because I never heard something close to it.

It's sound... out of this world, or in this case unholy, you could say.

"Heheheheheheh... HahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!! YES, I CAN SEE IT!! THE FIRST STEP OF MANKIND!! OH, IN THE NAME OF GOD! NOW I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE GOD!!

I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SAY THIS FOR A LONG TIME!!

BUT..."

Mary seemed to be composed suddenly before putting her hands up in the air and saying the next thing on top of her lungs.

"IT'S ALIVE. IT'S ALIVE!!!!"
