Pain!
Abruptly awakened from a nightmare, Linan felt a piercing headache.
His vision was blurry, his consciousness fragmented into a chaotic mess.
Dazed, he struggled to get up from the bed, but his numb limbs kept him frozen in place.
Opening his eyes, Linan raised his arm and pressed his temples hard, trying to coax his scattered consciousness back into his body.
"Am I still alive?"
Instinctively, he reached for his chest.
His chest was covered by a thin layer of fabric.
Unlike he imagined, there were no bloody wounds or shattered bones and no gushing blood.
All he touched was skin emitting residual warmth.
Confirming that he was still alive, Linan breathed a sigh of relief, flexing his stiff body to get off the bed.
The surroundings were quiet, moonlight streaming through the window, casting a silver glow on the floor.
Linan surveyed the unfamiliar room, his eyes filled with confusion.
Why was he here?!
Struggling to recall past memories, he tried to piece together what had happened.
Unbearable memories flooded back into his mind, flashes of scenes racing through his thoughts.
In a narrow, confined space, filled with cold air and the chilling silence of the night, he, fully armed, cautiously guarded the darkness.
There was something more terrifying than a wild beast.
Suddenly!
A figure darted out of the shadows, a creature covered in a layer of horny "armor," with protruding spinal bones.
The creature spewed corrosive acid from its mouth, instantly corroding the weapon in his hand.
Cool-headed despite the ambush, Linan dropped his rifle, drew his tactical knife from his waist in one smooth motion.
The sharp blade, propelled by his powerful muscles, instantly severed the neck of the attacking creature.
Bending down, Linan stared expressionlessly at the dying creature struggling.
Just as he was about to finish it off, a silently creeping facehugger (a young alien) appeared in his blind spot, seizing the opportunity when he relaxed, and leaped towards his face.
The above was the last image lingering in Linan's mind before losing consciousness.
"Was I facehugged by that facehugger?"
He reached out again to touch his chest, murmuring to himself.
Although he fought aliens, he was not a person from the alien world.
Born on Earth, Linan had the attribute of being an "orphan," leading a dull and uninteresting life.
Originally selfish and indifferent, he impulsively did the only good thing in his life—helping an old lady who was a victim of a staged accident cross the road against a red light.
The result was being hit by an oncoming truck.
Upon waking up, he found himself transmigrated to the "Alien" world, becoming a mercenary employed by the infamous company, Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
Since he was here, he quickly adapted to his identity as a mercenary.
Accustomed to killing, he thought his life would ultimately end with a bullet.
Unexpectedly, the reckless Weyland-Yutani Corporation captured the aliens from the spaceship and established a base to research these natural "killing machines."
The aliens escaped, wreaking havoc, turning the entire research base into a hellish landscape.
And himself, employed by Weyland-Yutani Corporation, was ordered to exterminate the aliens.
His last lingering memory was being ambushed by a facehugger popping out of the shadows.
Exhaling a breath, Linan forced himself to focus on the present.
Examining the furnishings in the room—old computers, scattered books, and a desk lamp still connected by wires.
These outdated yet familiar items seemed to belong to the twenty-first century?
The world he was in, the "Alien" world, was in the midst of the colonial era of the twenty-second century, where such outdated items no longer existed.
Linan looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar things, his mind momentarily bewildered.
"Did I come back?"
From the "Alien" world, back to his own world?!
Hesitating, Linan walked over to the calendar on the wall.
The large "20xx" on the calendar caught his eye.
He really came back!
You should know that in the "Alien" world, even moon colonization hadn't begun by the early twenty-first century!
Feeling incredibly complicated, Linan stared at the calendar in silence for a long time.
If he were still in the "Alien" world, being facehugged by a facehugger, the outcome wouldn't be pleasant.
Facehuggers would pierce through the chest area of their hosts upon maturation.
At the moment of "chestburster," the host's arteries would be torn, chest muscles turned into a mess, and the fragile chest bone would instantly fracture.
Having witnessed this scene firsthand, he knew how painful it was for the host.
Since he had transmigrated back, it meant he wouldn't experience such pain.
Perhaps he had already died in that world.
"Let's just consider it a dream!"
Linan shook his head, exhaling a breath.
"Peter?!"
Just as he was caught up in complex emotions, a woman's voice suddenly came from downstairs.
"Peter, are you still not done with your exam paper? If you don't eat your banana bread soon, your uncle will eat it all."
"?"
Linan listened to the unfamiliar voice, stunned in place.
Suddenly, his mind raced and he felt something was off.
With a bad premonition in his heart, he quickly walked to the mirror in the room.
White Caucasian skin, a youthful face, hazel eyes, and brownish-yellow hair.
Looking at the face in the mirror that didn't belong to him, Linan was dumbfounded.
At the same time, memories that didn't belong to him surged into his mind like a tide.
After a while, absorbing the memories, Lin An slowly reached out to touch his face.
It turned out he hadn't come back.
From the "Alien" world, he transmigrated once again, this time into the world of Marvel comics, becoming a high school student named "Peter Parker."
Peter Parker, Spider-Man.
Although he wasn't a fan of Marvel comics, he still knew the name Spider-Man.
A superhero?
Looking away from the mirror, the expression on Linan's face kept changing.
How could such a selfish and cold-hearted jerk like himself become a superhero?
Accompanied by death, constantly killing others, and finally ending his life with a bullet from the enemy, that was his destiny!
"Peter?! Don't make me come up there and drag you down!"
Another urgent voice came from downstairs.
"I'm coming down, Aunt May."
Linan called downstairs, quickly adjusting his mood and heading downstairs.
Downstairs.
Aunt May was carrying a tray, and upon seeing Linan coming downstairs, her eyebrows twitched slightly as she said to her husband at the dining table, "Our smart boy has been burning the midnight oil."
Uncle Ben pushed his glasses up, "Sometimes he's just like his dad, easily lost in his own world. Maybe that's not a bad thing. By the way, can I have another slice of this banana bread?"
Since Peter hadn't been bitten by a spider yet, poor Uncle Ben hadn't been sacrificed yet.
Observing a moment of silence for Uncle Ben,
Linan pretended to be nonchalant and walked to the dining table.
"Snap!"
Aunt May slapped Uncle Ben's outstretched hand, saying disapprovingly, "This is specially prepared for Peter, containing rich potassium elements. I read in a book about alternative therapies that eating potassium-rich foods is the best way to combat allergies, and bananas have the most potassium."
"Allergies?"
Uncle Ben blinked, puzzled. "What is Peter allergic to? I don't remember."
"Environmental allergies. Peter has social anxiety, remember? He can't integrate well into the school environment."
"Uh..."
Uncle Ben fell silent.
What kind of mystical therapy is this?!
Linan reached out to grab a piece of banana bread, intending to taste Aunt May's dark cuisine.
Suddenly!
A sharp pain struck his chest, his throat felt a stabbing pain, and nausea attacked his nerves.
"Ugh!"
A swelling sensation spread from his chest to his whole body, as if some creature was wriggling inside!
Terrified, Linan's heart surged with horror!
How could this be?!
He clearly transmigrated into Peter Parker's body, so why was there still an alien embryo gestating inside him, implanted by the facehugger?!
Was the transmigration system playing tricks on him?
Or did something happen?
"Peter, are you okay?"
Seeing Peter's pale face, Aunt May asked with concern.
"I'm fine, sorry, I just remembered something."
Linan shook his head and quickly walked upstairs.
At the dining table, Aunt May and Uncle Ben watched Linan leave, exchanging glances.
Aunt May put down the tray, a hint of worry on her face.
