Speed Force vs. Phoenix Force II

Jean glared at Hope who was still in tears after losing her father, before stretching her hand towards her, enveloping her in a psionic energy bubble. The next second she clenched her fist, as the bubble began to shrink.

Nearing her end, Hope closed her eyes, as a trickle of tear dropped down her face.

"Boom!" However in the next moment, the end she was courageously willing to face didn't come, and the only thing she heard a loud and resounding boom.

She opened her eyes only to see a massive thunderbolt blasting towards them at full speed. It arrived before them in a split second, before smashing into Jean with enough force to collapse a huge mansion.

A massive crater formed around a 5km radius, as the dust lifted off the ground, and danced to the movement of the wind. She was sent flying with so much force and velocity such that her body resembled a flaming meteor, as she crashed into multiple already destroyed structures.

Hope raised her head and lifted her eyes to gaze at the figure who had just appeared like a lightning bolt and miraculously saved her from deaths door.

"I'm sorry." Duke retracted his cowl, as he turned his head to the young girl and said with a small sigh.

"Make her pay." The young girl's eyes were wet with more tears as she cut an angry, helpless and hopeless figure.

Duke nodded firmly, before he took a step forward, and zoomed into the distance, leaving a crater and several lightning jolts in his wake.

Jean who had crashed in several structures immediately arose from the debris. A small smile formed on her twisted face, seeing the figure clad in lightning bolt arriving before her in a split second.

"I thought you were never going to come." Both of them began to circle each other, examining themselves with murderous intent. And after a few seconds, The Phoenix broke the silence with a shrewd laugh.

"All this was simply to get your attention, my dear brother's avatar. You're welcome.."

Duke did not speak any word, however his tightly clenched fists was enough sign to show what was going to happen next.

"You and I can rule the multiverse Duke. We can become Gods!" At this point, Duke didn't know whether it was Jean or the Phoenix within her that was speaking. All he knew was that he was going to take her down, one way or the other.

"It seems you don't appreciate the gesture." Instantly, golden flames began to burn on her body, which materialized into a pair of flaming wings behind him. The wings flapped, causing dust particles to rise and fall rhythmically.

Duke instantly began to stir up the Speed Force energy within his body. All his cells seemed began to vibrate at hyper speed, generating an internal lightning storm, coating all of his organs with electricity. At that point, he felt a massive rush of strength, something he had been holding back in his previous world. He felt electricity running through his veins, as bolts of lightning materialized on his body outwardly.

He felt like he could call on the might of lightning with a single gesture, he felt invincible. "Oh?" Feeling the sheer amount of raw and untamed energy emanating from his body, Jean raised an eyebrow, before her face twisted into a murderous frown.

"Let's see how much of that power you can actually control." She smirked, before firing a massive beam of Phoenix flame from her outstretched palm.

Duke was siphoning so much energy from the Speed Force that his entire body was covered in a 2 radius domain of lightning.

In the next second, reality itself came to a crawl before his lightning filled eyes. And in that moment, he took a step forward. "Boom!" Multiple Sonic booms resounded within a split second, showing just how much faster he was moving that Mach speed.

He sidestepped to the left and dodged the massive flame beam, before he blasting towards Jean at full speed.

"Boom!!" A loud explosion set off, which caused a massive shock and lightning wave. Once again Jean was hurled backwards with great momentum as she smashed through several structures, as Duke only skid backwards a few meters. Not giving her any chance for a breather, he blasted off at full speed, accompanied by lightning, as he ran atop a halfway collapsed building, jumped off and caught Jean who was falling to the ground by the hair, before smashing her into the ground from that height with all of his strength.

"Boom!" A massive crater formed, as Duke, still grabbing her by the hair, dragged her whole face on the ground, while moving at super speed. After a few seconds, he tossed her like a sac of potatoes, as she crashed through multiple structures.

"You dare to harm me?!! Die!!!" Contrary to Duke's expectations, Jean arose from the debris with half of her face completely mushed albeit slowly healing and roared out in anger. A massive wave of Psionic body blasted out of her body, turning most of the structures around her to dust.

Duke on the other hand simply took a deep breath, before he blasted forward at full speed, leaving a large crater and lightning bolts in his wake. And before Jean could even realize and muster her power, he appeared before her in a split second and unleashed a nasty punch right into her face without holding back.

She flew back with enough velocity to put a sports car to shame, however before she could even land, Duke appeared before her, unleashing multiple attacks; from punches to kicks to knees to elbows all within a second, at his full strength without holding back.

Jean's whole body was instantly ripped apart, however a golden light materialized, piecing her body back together to Duke's dismay.

"Argh!!!" Within that moment, she let out a fierce cry, like the cry of a an angry Phoenix, followed by a massive Psionic burst which smashed into Duke and hurled him backwards with much speed, as he crashed into the multiple structures several times before coming to a stop a few meters away.

"Cough!" His insides churned, before he erupted a cough, spilling blood from his mouth and nose.

"I did not want to harm you Duke. You chose this path for yourself." Jean mysteriously teleported before him as she chuckled and began to levitate with her palms stretched out. Immediately, all the collapsed structures began to levitate under a burst of Psionic energy, as Duke looked on in shock.

Every single structure within a 50km radius was being controlled by her telekinetically, as a small smirk appeared on her face.

She then wriggled her fingers, as all the structures began to to transform into long spears about 10 meters long, that seemed to fill up the whole sky. With a wave of her hand, the spears shot forward at top speeds, as they pierced towards Duke with frightening accuracy.

"Boom!" He immediately blasted off at his top speed, in the opposite direction, grabbed unto Hope and escaped the onslaught. However, even after escaping her line of sight, the spears did not stop, as they pierced forward with top speed towards Duke who was running with Hope in tow.

Even after running multiple kilometers away the spears didn't stop chasing them. 'Think Duke! Think!!!' Duke berated himself, as he looked on in worry, however a few seconds later, an idea lit up in his head, as he turned around, sliding backwards for more than a few meters.

A memory of the day he saved Nat from the Hulk on the SHIELD helicarrier flashed in his thoughts. At that particular moment on the Helicarrier, he remembered how Hulk's fist was a few meters away from Nat, and someway somehow, he managed to allow his body to kind of pass through the fist of the Hulk and grab her and then escape.

"Come on, come on!!" He instantly tried to recreate the scene, by blasting forward at his top speed. A few meters away from the first spear, he began to vibrate his and Hope's bodies at hyper speed. Hope was terrified at Duke's suicidal actions, however she closed her eyes and buried her face in his chest.

Duke gritted his teeth and continued to vibrate their bodies, and right as the first spear was about to pierce his body, it went right through them and pierced the ground.

"Hahaha!" He roared in laughter as multiple spears passed through their bodies, however, his joy was cut short. He saw Jean appear a few meters before them with an evil smile.

She instantly waved her hand, sending a massive wave of Psionic energy blasting towards them. At that moment, Duke was caught in a dilemma. He didn't know if he could somehow make the energy wave pass through their bodies, but he didn't want to risk it.

He looked around and saw a small lake a few meters from him. He gritted his teeth and came to a stop abruptly, as he gently flung her into the lake, and a moment later, the energy wave blasted into his body sending him flying. "Boom!" He was hurled back like cannon ball, as he crashed into the ground a few moments later, causing a large shockwave and crater.

"Cough!" He coughed out a mouthful of blood as his face turned pale in an instant. "You're weak Duke. Then again, it's not your fault. My brother himself is a weakling." Jean continued to walk towards Duke who was sprawled on the ground, trying to crawl out the crater. Forcefully lifting himself up, he saw the Tachyon device Shari built for him in shambles as he retracted his cowl and spit out blood.

"Do you know why you're still running around Duke? " Jean walked to him and caressed his cheek. "It because we swore never to use reality to harm our avatars. Meaning I can't forcefully erase you from reality, but there other ways I can kill you and make it satisfying." She smiled and waved her hand, before walking away.

Immediately, a mummified hand burst out of the ground, as Dr. Hank's corpse tore through the soil and crawled out of the ground. Not just him, every single avenger and X men who had died today appeared including members of the illuminati such as Dr. Strange, Black Bolt, Stark and Reed Richards.

Seeing their target, they rushed to him with angry roars. "Nothing is impossible...." Duke was on the verge of surrendering. He didn't know how he could possibly kill the Phoenix. She was so strong that the gap between them was extremely glaring to him. However, he remembered something he heard from the Speed force as his eyes lit up.

"Nothing is impossible." He muttered it to himself several times as he propped himself up with his arms. He had shattered his limits several times, and he could do it again. Nothing was impossible win an endless source of energy like the Speed Force.

He closed his eyes and began to call upon more and more of the Speed Force energy within his body. Immediately, his injured body began to heal rapidly, as color returned to his face. "Hahahaha!!" Feeling the immense energy coursing through his body, he had never felt so alive; an addictive feeling which caused him to burst out in a fit of deranged laughter.

Lightning began to materialize all over his body, as he took a look at Jean who was walking away leisurely and smiled. Time instantly slowed down to a crawl, as he blasted off leaving multiple sonic booms. "Nothing is impossible!!!" He muttered to himself as he reached his top speed in just a few moments. He gritted his teeth, as he siphoned off more and more energy from the Speed Force.

Immediately, he began to accelerate, going even faster than he had ever dreamt of going. Within a second, he had arrived at the massive Pacific Ocean, as he blasted atop the surface of the ocean, stirring up massive waves with his speed continually increasing along with his momentum.

In about two seconds, he reached Africa, blasting through the Amazon forest, accompanied by a burst of lightning energy. The sparks that were formed from his immense speed lit up, causing a large fire which began to consume to the forest. He reached Everest in under a second, zooming atop the massive mountain, causing multiple

Mountain climbers to lose their balance.

Nothing was impossible had become his conviction. Under the kind of speeds he was moving, he couldn't feel his body anymore. Momentum and other forces were weighing on his shoulders so much that he felt like a leaf within a tornado.

Gritting his teeth, he clenched his left fist and transferred all off the momentum unto it as he reached New York City in about another second. All in all he had taken about 5 seconds to travel across the earth. At this point, he knew his death was imminent, and there was no way his body could survive after this stunt he had pulled off.

Hope had just gotten out of the lake when she saw a bunch of zombie Avengers including her dad rushing towards where Duke was supposed to have landed. However the next moment, she heard multiple booming sounds from the horizon, as she turned around, and there she saw something she would never forget.

Although her eyes were unable to capture what she had she had seen clearly, at least if she was to describe it she would say she saw a massive lightning bolt blasting forwards with immense ferocity.

Jean noticed something wrong and turned around, and there, she saw a figure clad in lightning bolts run through all the zombie Avengers destroying them by just the force coming off his body.

She immediately used Psionic energy to construct a massive shield before her and braced for impact. Duke who had run through all of the zombie Avengers turning their bodies into mush appeared before Jean in less than a second, as he summoned all the momentum and energy he had gathered before throwing a crazy punch with his left fist.
