In The Night

----Lucas POV----

Lucas moved to the kitchen deciding to take the advice of the system since he wanted to move his cooking skills up right away he didn't want people coming in tomorrow and say his food was trash. When he got into the kitchen he was surprised by the beautiful stainless steel appliances the system had told him that they were sent to a place that wasn't modernly advanced but the kitchen he was in looked beyond professional. Looking at the fridge he opened it up to see fresh lettuce that was kind of glowing, tomatoes that were red and plump, a big block of cheese and many different condiments like mayo, mustard, and ketchup, "System why are the drinks not in here??" he asked he could see potato's in the corner and plenty of flour.

"Lucas you have not gained anything that needs to be put in here the meat provide by the system is freshly delivered for every time you need it, the meat for your burgers come from a Rare Golden Cow that is born from special breeding out of every cow it is one in a million the system has special breed these cow for you to have the best meat quality. The cows drink spring water that is untouched by man that has no dirt it is cleaner and richer than any water in the world, while it eats grass that has been mana enriched to strengthen the meat to make it taste better. As for the Drinks besides the coffee that you have to hand make the Lemonade and Root Beer have been put into the soda guns at the bar for you to use, they are both equally delicious but for now lets get cooking." The voice of the system said in his head making him nod he couldn't really compare the gold cow meat since he hasn't had it so he would just have to wait.

Going to the cutting board he brought lettuce and tomato from the fridge along with the meat grinder since he figured it wouldn't come pre-made for him, after asking the system for a big chunk of meat a slab of beautiful red meat was set in front of him already washed and ready to go. Not wasting time he took a meat tenderizer and started pounding the meat to get it to its full potential, in his past life he didn't really cook much but he did watch a lot of cooking shows so he was going based off that knowledge and the recipes the system gave him to make it his own. Once he felt it was right he put it into the grinder that was electronic and started chopping the lettuce and tomato, going through the motions he realized even if he hasn't done this before the system was helping him slowly get use to it and getting his cutting technique better.

After all of it was done and ready he went and grabbed the spices that the system left for him in a cabinet, taking out the onion powder and garlic salt that was in there he started to lather the meat with it evenly mixing it together, "Hey system will you provide the buns or do I have to make those myself too?" Lucas asked hoping he didn't have to go through the trouble of making bread everyday.

"The system will provide the bread." it responded after staying silent for awhile it must have realized he wouldn't have much time to actually cook if he had to make so much bread everyday. In the corner of the room a bag full of buns appeared out of nowhere but he payed that no mind and just laid some out so when he was done cooking he could place it.

Not much later Lucas had finished the setup of everything and after coating a pan with a little olive oil he started making burgers like a man possessed, before he knew it twenty-five burgers were done and sitting in front of him. Looking them over he realized that as he swept his eyes from the first done until the last that they gradually got better until the last seven were all the same in smell and appearance, he was going to start on more but was stopped by the system telling him he had mastered the burger and didn't need to try again. Patting himself on the back he then started to make French fries since he didn't make any with the burgers, "System can you tell me if there is anything special about the potatoes?"

"Answering Lucas, the potatoes were made in a mana field that has been untouched for over a hundred years the soil was nurtured making the potatoes grow beyond maturity but letting them retain the pure essence in them. They have been washed more than five times in the divine lake that holds the most purity essence letting anyone who eats them recover any aliments they might have. This also means that no matter what they are combined with they will stay as if no one has ever handled them, the system advises that you don't not under any circumstances use anything to go with the fries like ketchup. EAT THEM NATURALLY!" the soft voice of the system said.

"Why should the be eaten natural?" Lucas asked scratching his head not knowing why it would ask something so ridiculous.

"They do not require anything else." it replied not saying anything more.

Lucas didn't ask more and just got to work there was no frier in the room so he put the pans he used into the dishwasher which cleaned them instantly before coating each pan with more oil than he did with the burgers. Before heating though he brought out his Mythic Owl Knife to cut and skin the potatoes, the knife was a perfect fit in his hand with the clear white handle that had orange streaks in it with a carving of and owl in the blade. He just touched the blade to a potato and it cut clean through with no resistance making him smile, he made quick work with the system guidance again and cut more than a hundred potatoes making his wrist hurt some but he felt satisfied that the portions were the same now. Frying them were a lot easier so and he didn't have to do much before they were golden brown, putting some on each plate with a burger the aroma made his mouth water it smelled heavenly in here now.

---Third Person POV---

Outside Lucas shop the streets were still full of people he was put into the dead center of Natin where many other shops were his was the only restaurant around though, when he had put the fries on the plate the smell had got out making many people stop and look at his little shop. Some even tried to look inside but the system was preventing anyone from looking inside, when they realized they couldn't see inside they tried looking at the sign reading 'Lucas Cooking!" the name had changed after Lucas gave his name to the system. After finding out that the place was closed everyone began to leave but they were all talking about visiting it tomorrow to see what the place was like, across from the shop though a small figure was huddle with a blanket covering their body.

"*Growl*" the stomach of the person went off tortured by the amazing smell of the food coming from the store across the street, the figure had been sleep in the alley near it for a week now and never saw anyone come in or out of the place and it was always closed so they were shocked to smell the food. "When did they start cooking for there?" the voice said staring intently at the shop.

Moving their body the figure walked in front of the shop before moving to the side in the alleyway next to it hoping to get some scrapes that they would throw away at the end of the day. Curling next to the wall it drifted off to sleep with a small smile on its face dreaming of the pleasant meals that they were going to have in the future, people passing by didn't say anything to the figure in fact the avoided it all together and just kept walking pretending the person wasn't even there.

---Lucas POV---

Lucas wasn't aware of the mess he just made outside instead he was trying not to cry because he was just informed by the system that he had to throw away everything he just made he only got to eat four meals a day free but since business hasn't started yet the system wasn't allowing him to eat more today. With grinding teeth he threw the last plate into the black hole that was in the trash can watching the last plate of pancakes disappear making him cry out in pain. After it was all gone he was aloud to taste the Lemonade and Root Bear but the system was charging him if he wanted to get any coffee since the beans were so expensive not even he could afford one if it wasn't provided by the system.

Going to the bar he asked for the specifics of the Lemonade and Root Beer since this was way different from what he knew back on earth, there the Root Beer kind of burned when it went down this one was just refreshing and woke him up. "The Root Beer and Lemonade are both made from the virgin Lake a place where the water is only handled by virgin maidens who have spent more than thirty years as one making the water as pure as it can be. The bubbles of the Root Beer aren't as aggressive as on earth due to it being handled wrong there the system automatically made it the best it can be any improvements would just destroy it. While the lemons used by the Lemonade are fresh picked right when they become ripe not a second longer than or shorter making them the perfect lemon used for the Lemonade." The soft voice of the system said while he nodded getting use to theses helpful but somewhat vague answers since he wanted to know everything about them.

After he finished drinking Lucas was tired from everything he had done tonight so he called it a night heading upstairs for tonight since he wasn't that tired, the room had a large king sized bed and the moment he threw himself on to it he was tired but he held himself back and showered first. Throwing on a pair of shorts he found that were the perfect size he went back to his bed and laid down, he put his hands behind his head thinking everything through about what has been going on. He was happy to not be thrown into nothingness but he was also wondering why he got this path out of every possibility sure he was happy to have a relaxed life but he also didn't think that it would be that simple here. Ignoring the doubts in his head he slowly fell asleep to the air conditioned room.
