War time Memories ( 1 )

As he entered the tent, he found his knights, his soldiers all huddled up to keep themselves warm while having soup which was being warmed up on a bonfire.

Everyone was staring at him in silence.

It was this time he realised the distance between them and his soldiers. Every time he visited them he had one of the veteran knights who knew Carseain since he was a child and could speak to him comfortably. That was not true for the younger ones of his age group. Since, neither of them ever really put in any effort to communicate with each other , there was a gap.

This gap was always bridged by one of the older soldiers who accompanied him during his visit, but today he was alone. The gap became more conspicuous and it was deeper than he thought it would be.

Carseain froze for a moment. His mind went blank and he did not know what he should be doing. It was that moment , Len spoke up

"What brings you here, Commander?"
