Zhang Li Xue was unaware of her good result. When she asked her aunt about her test paper, her aunt only told her that she might have the chance to pass the test.
Hearing her aunt's answer, Zhang Li Xue decided to work harder so that she could achieve her target.
Her parents saw how their little girl had studied well and did not have the heart to reject her request to take the test and attend school a year earlier.
However, both Li Qin Yao and Zhang Yu Han had agreed that they would not let their daughter skip a grade in school.
As her parents, they still hoped that Li Xue would be able to grow up slowly and happily. They did not want to put any pressure on her to study hard.
Of course, Zhang Li Xue was unaware of her parents' decision. The little girl continued to work hard each day just so she could have her basketball team sooner.
Zhang Li Xue's progress in her study was noticed by her teacher and her classmates.
Her teacher would often praise her and her friends loved to be around her. Each time they have something they did not understand, the kids would look for Li Xue before they went to look for their teacher.
"Li Xue, you are so smart." Fang Su Jin, her desk mate was watching Zhang Li Xue solving some mathematic problems in awe. "I am your desk mate. Tell me, why am I not as smart as you?"
"You are also very smart," Zhang Li Xue spoke. "Our teacher complimented your drawing today. Su Jin, your drawing is better than mine."
The little girl sighed. "But I'm not good at counting. My mom often scolds me because of this."
Zhang Li Xue was pitying her friend. Now that she thought about it, her mother never scolded her whenever she did not know how to solve any problem.
"Actually, it wasn't that hard," Zhang Li Xue said. "If you do enough practice, you will be good at it."
Fang Su Jin let out another sigh. Her desk mate was too diligent in doing her mathematic practices. However, she was too lazy. Each time she looked at the numbers, Fang Su Jin would feel her head spinning.
Zhang Li Xue noticed the look on her friend's face. She patted Fang Su Jin's arms and smiled. "Don't worry. I can teach you. Let's work hard together, alright?"
At this time, Meng Hao ran around the class to tell everyone that their classroom teacher was coming. The atmosphere suddenly became quieter.
Soon, the door was pushed open and their classroom teacher entered.
"Alright, before I begin, I have something to announce," the kindergarten teacher spoke. "Next month will be the kindergarten's anniversary. On that day, we will be inviting your parents to the kindergarten so that they can see how you are learning in school."
The classroom was noisy after the announcement.
There were a few children who were excited over this news and there were a few who were not so happy. Some of them were worried that they might be scolded after they returned home. After all, most of them came to the kindergarten to meet their friends and play around instead of studying properly.
"Calm down, everyone. I am not finished yet." The teacher waited until everyone had stopped talking before she spoke again. "On that day, I am planning to let everyone go up the stage and perform for your parents. What do you think?"
The other kids began to whisper among themselves. Many of them were excited upon hearing that they were going to perform.
Some of them began to suggest what they wanted to do on the day. In the end, everyone agreed that they wanted to perform a song.
The teacher gave a few selections of songs and the children voted on which one they wanted to perform.
Zhang Li Xue sat in her seat while listening to her friends talking about the upcoming performance.
After school ended, Zhang Li Xue ran over to the gate to meet up with her aunt.
Her eyes lit up when she caught the sight of Bai Qi heading in the same direction.
A mischievous smile curled on her face. Zhang Li Xue walked slowly and finally jumped in front of the boy, intending to scare him.
Seeing that Bai Qi was staring back at her with his eyes wide made her laugh. "Bai Qi, are you surprised?"
"You scared me." Bai Qi finally snapped out of his thought. He had a lot of thoughts in his mind and had not noticed the girl creeping toward him.
"It's good that you're scared." Zhang Li Xue laughed happily, knowing that she managed to scare him. Her eyes turned crescent and her small teeth could be seen.
Bai Qi saw the girl's bright smile and the twinkle in her eyes. Instantly, his face turned red.
Each time during their basketball practice, Zhang Li Xue often had a serious look on her face. It was rare for him to see the little fairy smiling brightly at him.
"You're quite late today."
Many of the students had left earlier. Zhang Li Xue had not expected that she would into her friend at this time.
"Mmm... our class came out later than usual," Bai Qi said. "The teacher announced about the kindergarten's anniversary and our class was discussing what they wanted to do."
Zhang Li Xue's eyes brightened up. "Earlier, our teacher was discussing the same thing. In the end, everyone decided to perform a song. What would your class do?"
Bai Qi lowered his head. "Our teacher wanted us to perform a play."
Zhang Li Xue became excited once she realized that she had never watched a play before. "I wanted to see your class's performance too. Do you think our teacher will allow it?"
"You should be able to watch it," Bai Qi said. "Everyone is going to gather in the gymnasium on that day."
Zhang Li Xue nodded. Then, she looked at Bai Qi inquiringly. "What are you and your classmates going to perform?
"Little red riding hood."
Her eyes lit up. "I like that story. What are you going to do?"
Bai Qi pursed his lips as he thought of the role assignment earlier. "This time, I'm going to be a tree."
I read your response in the previous chapter and decided to write more on their childhood before a time skip.
