She Was Beautiful And Everyone Was Blind

There she was sitting at the last bench near the window and focused herself entirely on the thing she was doing. A small smile came over his face as he was delighted to see her again.

He quickly walked and took the bench before her. As he adjusted himself on the seat, he observed her but he didn't see her looking at him.

So, he said "Hi!"

As she looked up, he noticed her beautiful eyes which were hidden because of those square brimmed glasses. Aww! If she hadn't worn those glasses, she would have been the one famous for her beautiful brown eyes.

Her eyes glistened with happiness for a second and they turned gloomy, later on. And eventually, he got no response from her. And she went back to writing again.

To grab her attention, he cleared her throat and said in the sweetest voice he could ever make.

"Hey, I am Kim Young Min. And you?" He stretched out his hand for a hand shake.

And that was when he saw her smile beautifully. Her eyes glistened like before and he saw how beautiful she was with that smile. Her eyes turned crescent as she replied back with her beautiful smile.

"Hi! I am Son Mina."

As he heard her soft mellow voice, he was perplexed. Her voice was so beautiful just like a nightingale and he wanted to hear her more.

Everyone was blind to think of her as disgusting.

But not so long after the introduction, he saw her looking to the front.

Four guys who looked no less than hooligans entered the classroom. As they marched inside, everyone gave way to them being afraid.

These guys were very rich people and also the sons of the contributors to this university. So, of course there was a double reason for people to be afraid. And they walked straightforwardly towards Son Mina.

"We warned you, Son Mina. Why are you back here?" The guy who was in the center asked with rage visible in his eyes.

Seeing no response from her, that guy snatched her book and threw it on the floor. "Answer me!! The whole university is ashamed of having your presence. Are you not ashamed? How can a fat, ugly girl like you even come in the first place? Do you not have any conscience?"

Still, he didn't receive any response from her and this boiled him even further. He walked closer to her, held her by her chin and forced her to look upward at him.

"Look at me when you hear me speak."

"Ah!" Young Min heard Mina winced and he became annoyed.

Although he was tolerating himself until now, he could no longer tolerate when she winced.

"She is not your slave."

As Young Min said that, the furious guy felt anger rushing all over his body. "What?"

Young Min stuffed his hands inside either of his pockets and shrugged his shoulders "She is not your slave to do as you say."

The guy chuckled as he heard his remark. And soon, the entire class began to laugh. It was a very funny moment for the people present there. He walked towards Young Min and rested his hand on his shoulder.

With a sweet yet dominating voice, he said "You seem to be new here. So, just stop what you are doing. No one stands up for her or supports her. So, make sure you do the same."

Young Min sneered and removed his hand from his shoulder.

"I apologize but I would stand for her. If no one stands for her, then I should be the one to take a stand for her. She is not the one who should be removed from the university, people like you... should be removed from the university." Young Min pointed at him and continued...

"Not only from the university, I should say that people like you should be banned from the society. So, what if she is fat and ugly at least, she doesn't have a mindset like you. At least, she thinks thoughtfully about others and treats them well. She is unlike you who... treats someone good only and until you need them and later on, you treat them just like garbage.

So, from today onwards, I will make sure that Son Mina, gets treated fairly and I shall be the one who would support her every time." He smiled while looking at Mina and made her sit back on her chair.

That same guy lifted his hand to punch when one of the other boys behind him stopped him. "Don't put yourself in trouble. I know him. Let's just go for now!" They all walked out of the classroom with the same furious looks in their eyes.

As the four guys left, the atmosphere turned back to normal and everyone began to gossip of how the new guy took stand for the girl whom they despised. Some repented on their actions and apologized to Son Mina.

When Mina smiled, Young Min also smiled. He no longer felt like being in class so he walked out to get some fresh air.

He climbed the stairs to the terrace and took out a cigarette from his pocket. As he began to blow huge puffs of smoke in the air, he heard the similar soft mellow voice.

"Thank you!"

He turned around and there she was. He blushed for a second and quickly threw the cigarette on the floor. He stomped it with his feet and fanned with his hand to remove the smell surrounding him.

But no matter what he did, he was caught by her.

As he saw her eyes still on him, he scratched the back of his neck and tried to control his blush.

"Th...That is nothing. You should also voice out. It is not a good thing to stay silent."

He completed his sentence and stole a glance at her. She was still seeing him. Her eyes were just fixed.

He saw her coming close and he instinctively took steps back. And then he saw her stop just three steps away from him. And he heard her speak "I will. Now that I know that someone is with me, I will not stay silent..."

As he heard a long pause, he looked at her only to notice her having a crease on her forehead.

"And... you should stop smoking. It is not good for your health!" He saw her smile and f*ck himself... Her smile was just enough to make him feel those fluttering butterflies in his stomach, AGAIN.

He lowered his head to hide his shy face and gave a nod. Later, he heard the sound of footsteps.

"Come back to class after you are done." He saw her disappear down the stairs after that.
