Chapter 17- Dad is unwell
"Drop that creature in your arms and go see your father", Old madam Chen ordered.
"Huh?" Delilah gave her a puzzled look, she looked towards the grand stairs before staring at the Old madam, seeming confused.
"Your father is unwell, that's why we are here", Old madam Chen explained.
Delilah's bright face paled, fear and worries crept into her heart.
She dropped the dog in her arms like it was a cup, if not for housekeeper Tang Yu's fast reflexes, the dog would have sustained some injures.
"D-Dad is sick?" Delilah managed to say, it looks like she was talking to herself.

After her mother died, her father became lonely, he refused to marry again, she'd watched her father cry many times as he stared at her mother's portrait.
One day, he suddenly collapsed, Delilah had never so been frightened that day, she almost went berserk if not for her grandmother, her aunt, Chen Lian Bo and the other family members.
The doctor reassured her that her father would be fine, that it was only mental stress, only then did Delilah's heart calmed.
Since then, just a sneeze from her father would turn her into an overbearing nurse, talk less of him being unwell.
Too bad she has no memories of her mother, it has always been a mystery to her that she cannot remember who her mother was, what she doesn't know is that she has no memories of her mother because she'd lost it.

"Yes, Delilah he…", before Old madam Chen could complete her sentence, the young lady dashed towards the grand stairs.
"*sigh*… What a girl ", said Old madam Chen as she sat on the sofa in the living room.
Housekeeper Tang Yu went on a knee to release the restless dog in his arms, whom instantly ran after its master, not minding it almost got injured a few seconds ago.
" Old madam, don't be that way, you know she's always like that whenever master is unwell", housekeeper Tang Yu chuckled as he rose watching the girl running up the stairs.
Delilah ran as fast as she could to her father's room. Due to her frail body, she was panting and sweating like someone who had just ran a marathon.
" Dad…", she said lowly as she entered the room with Rigby behind her. Tears welled up her eyes as she walked over to his bed. His face was pale, and he really looked sick, there's an IV of fluids dripinjected into his left hand.
She knelt beside his bed and took his right hand in hers. Chen Xiao forcefully opened his eyes, he turned to the direction he felt a warm pair of lips on his hand.
"Why are you crying… Am I dead?" he joked, his voice sounded gruff.
