My icy heart! It's melting

Now

“And Action!” It feels surreal to hear those words, almost like a vague memory from ages ago, but this isn’t a memory, this is a reality. This is the moment I’ve waited for so long, it feels like I’ve gone back in time and just walk into the set of ‘beautiful lies’ again.

I start walking towards the edge of the building staring down to the buzzing traffic. The scene I’m playing now is where Ray, me, tries to commit suicide. This won’t happen because suddenly a very handsome man walks down the street notices Ray and waves at her, she is mesmerised that somebody noticed her for the first time in ages and decides to run to the young gentlemen and, ofcourse, they fall in love. End.

I stand and look down the street, and there he is. Vincent, well in this case, Ashbury. He walks with a cup of coffee in his hands and a leather messenger bag. He looks exactly like himself, I remember this kind of Vincent, he always used to have such a bag and he would have three books that he would carry around town. I remember when I asked him why he did that and he told me ‘Because whenever I need a moment of comfort or inspiration I will always have a book with me that will help me, but now I don’t do it so often anymore.’ ‘Why?’ I had asked, ‘Because I have you now darling.’ I remember I blushed at the comment.

Vincent waves at me and my acting skills start.

I ran as fast as I could down the stairs and the camera’s were following me. I reached the ground floor, pushed the door and ran towards him. This could be harder than I imagined. Vincent and I didn’t even talk properly this entire time and now I need to act like a woman who can’t get him out of her head? The things I do for the job I love.

“Sir! Excuse me! Sir!” I shout as I come closer to him. He walks fast, probably because he needs to for his character but normally his long legs take him twice as far as mine. He turns around and looks at me, confused.

“Miss?” I look him up and down. I widen my eyes as I stare into his. He still looks as confused as ever.

“Miss?” He repeats again as written in the script.

“I’m sorry to bother you sir, but I’m the one from the roof, you’ve just waved at me.” Such a stupid character I play.

“I remember you. But why are you here? Following me?”

“I just wanted to let you know, thank you.” Before I started walking away.

“Welcome to our studio!” The young woman who rested in a chair in front of us said. Vincent and I were both invited to join ‘Hansin’, it’s a show that's pretty popular in England. A big crowd is watching me and Vincent as the cameras start filming. ‘Beautiful lies’ is coming out in a few more months but it’s caused quite the stir already. This is only the start of the beginning.

“Thank you, we are very grateful to be here.” I answer politely. Vincent and I spoke on the way here, I promised that I would do most of the talking (he gets irritated far too fast) which means that I will have to talk, as much as I hate conversations and interactions I can’t fear it forever especially not with the career I’ve chosen. The woman slimed delightfully at my answer before she looked at Vincent who was sitting peacefully with an emotionless appearance.

“So, Beautiful lies is coming out when?” A few people shouted ‘yes! When?’ and I heard a few ‘I hope it’s soon’. I can’t give any private information about the release or plot.

“Be prepared to wait.” Vincent said shamelessly. I snapped my head in his direction before giving him a glare. We made a deal, I do most of the talking and you sit down so that everyone drools over him and won’t turn all their attention towards me.

“Oh,” The woman let out a forced laugh before continuing, “You are both quite unknown actors who’ve stirred the pot already. Tell me, how did it happen so quickly?”

“Well, me and Vincent are indeed new to the acting business and we don’t have a lot of experience, but I guess we are just lucky to get the main roles in a movie with an amazing plot.” I feel Vincent’s burning gaze set on me as I speak those words, but then again if he’s not happy with what I say then at least look like you agree or say something yourself.

“I guess you are. So tell me about yourselves.” Vincent and I were both prepared that something like this would happen. They want something they can gossip about, make little scams. I nudged Vincent in the shoulder to force him to go first. He looked at me but I pretended to look at the audience.

“Well, I am Vincent Dayholt, I’m 18, turning 19 in a few weeks. I play Jack Goodwile in Beautiful lies. I like reading, playing the piano, and exploring new things. -”

“Are you happy playing your character, Vincent?” The woman interfered. Vincent stiffened beside me.

“Yes, very happy. I like the story, the co-actors and the money, ofcourse.” The audience let out a laugh, the woman did too.

“Do you have a relationship at the moment?” I froze and so did Vincent. I told him that questions like this would be asked, but he said that it wouldn’t happen or that he wouldn’t let it go that far. Vincent spinned his ring around his index finger.

“I don’t think that any of yo-”

“Vincent is very secretive about his love life.” I say interrupting Vincent. I don’t want to be disgraced in front of the television. Vincent and I share a glance and I slowly shake my head and drink water out of my glass that is resting on the glass table, Vincent does too.

“Oh, is he? Vincent doesn’t seem like a mysterious guy.” Oh she’s crossing the line slowly.Once I asked Vincent if he was in a relationship but he shrugged off the question and continued doing his thing. He never liked talking about it and I respected that.

“I am, now ask my co-actor a few questions as well.” The woman turned red before she tripped over a few words before finally turning some of her attention towards me, still she couldn’t keep her eyes off him.

After an excruciating hour we finally stood up from our seats and walked back towards the black range rover. People had surrounded us while our bodyguards tried their best to keep them in control. Vincent opened the door for me while I scooted in the back seat. A few people slammed on the windows and a few tried to film us, luckily the windows were blinded so they couldn’t see us.

“Thank god that they can’t see us.” Vincent murmured. He sits close to me, our thighs are touching and I can hear him breathing next to me.

Lately Vincent has been the kindest to me, he helps me learn my lines, he talks with the director when I’m struggling to film a scene, he talks to me about nice things to get my head of something. And I don’t know if it’s because of the character I’m portraying but I’m proud to say that I am one of those thousands of girls who like Vincent Dayholt.
