Devouring (PROLOG chapter 4)

After all this time it lived in that darkness, billions of years went by for that consciousness in the blink of an eye.

It went through the memories of that existence multiple times and learned pretty much everything that existence knew, all his spells his techniques his knowledge of the universe and within that knowledge it found out where it currently was.

The dead magus called that place the void, a place outside of reality itself isolated from its laws and rules, nothing should exist here and that being too full of himself tried to enter and find out the secrets of that place.

It also found out that this being was called magus of laws, he mastered the laws of reality, was powerful enough to destroy worlds with a simple spell, killed God's as if they were ants, but even with all that power it underestimated the void and died trying to enter it.

All that was left of him was that small spec of light representing its consciousness that was devoured by the white sun without being able to resist in the slightest.

Because the consciousness had a lot of free time and couldn't really do anything besides waiting to grow stronger, it tried to use the methods of the devoured consciousness to master laws, but sadly with no avail.

After a few trillion years it gave up it was simply impossible to learn laws without feeling them nearby, it was like trying to learn how to swim without water you would know how to do it in theory, but that didn't mean you could do it without practice.

So without any laws nearby, it couldn't really do anything.

But only a few million years after that a thought came through its mind, if it couldn't learn the laws of the outside, maybe it could learn the laws of the void it was currently in.

The most challenging part was probably that it couldn't sense it even though it was so surrounded by it, so the only thing that came to its mind was to try to devour a part of it like it has done with that magus.

But how ? For some reason that void ignored it completely, it thought a bit about that problem and came up with a solution.

It would wait for something else to enter the void and appear near it, then it would wait until the void tried to devour it just to devour that thing first and with it the part of void that was responsible for its erasure.

It would probably take a while but as it didn't come up with any other solutions it decided to do what it could best, waiting for something to happen.

And then only a few billion years later, another spec of light appeared near it. The void immediately tried to devour it, but this time the consciousness was prepared.

It was constantly sensing its surroundings, ready to strike as soon as something appeared.

And as soon as the void got ready to devour it, a shining white sun opened a part of itself and pulled that spec of light as well as the void covering it inside it before it closed the hole again.

The small part of the void just finished devouring its target ready to dissolve again, just to realize it was trapped within a white light.

The void immediately tried to escape, only to find out that it was pushed away as soon as it tried to go near the white wall, but this was not all it also realized it was shrinking and became weaker as It was slowly being devoured by that white sun.

This whole process lasted for a few seconds and after that the void was gone, all that was left was a white sun now adored with some small black lines all around it.
