Astonishing Pebble!

Despite Carl's fretful behavior Salvatore maintained his tranquil exterior, fully trusting in his immeasurable capabilities he was completely at one with his surroundings and exuded an air of utter calm. As the spears finally reached them, Carl silently scream in terror as he closed his eyes awaiting his unfair demise.

Several seconds passed before Carl opened his eyes surprised he was not dead. Looking around he was astonished to find that all of the shorts spears had somehow avoided them and where now encircling them in a perfect ring.

Seeing Salvatore completely whole and unharmed by a single short spear the Bloody Carrots gasped in amazement while one of the officers cried out in disbelief.

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

"SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!"

"Are aim was perfect and even if a few of us were off it simply impossible for every single one to miss him by such a large margin."

Blinking his good eye several times in disbelief, Orso's doubted what he was seeing.

"YOU IDIOTS, look at how they landed forming a perfect circle, it obvious that he caused them to miss!"

"What!!! But Captain, how could he possibly cause all of them to miss, I didn't even see him move?"

Having watched Salvatore very closely from the moment he had begun to issue his orders, not a single moment had he looked away. And although it seemed he had only held up Prince Carl like a shield, he was certain he had seen his hand disappear momentarily.

In fact, although it was barely perceivable he could have swore that something tiny had left then returned to his hand in the blink of an eye. Still somewhat unsure, Orso voiced his thought aloud to his officers.

"I think I saw him use a pebble."

"Wolfshit Captain, there's no way he could have use a simple pebble to redirect all of our spears."

"I didn't even see him move."

"Yeah me neither, all he did was stand there, using Prince Carl as a shield."

"He must have got lucky, a chance wind probably caused are spears to go off course."

"Yeah, that must be it, let's try it again, I refuse to believe someone can be so lucky twice in one lifetime."

Immediately the Bloody Carrots fired a second salvo of spear towards Salvatore. Responding in kind he launched the pebble again with a flicker of his thumb eliciting a series of ricochets before the pebble returned to his hand.

The spears arrived a moment after, with the only effect of increasing the number of dark spears which the spear ring around him was comprised of.

"This time I clearly saw him with my good eye use a pebble to redirect the spears in midair."

"Then what should we do sir?"

"Just keep firing, he can't stop them all if we don't give him a chance to."

"Yeah, your right."

Immediately they started to fling the short spears nonstop, soon the air was filled with an unending rain of hundreds of shorts spears.

Seeing the killing intent of the Bloody Carrots surge Salvatore decide playtime was over. While at first he was merely neutralizing their attacks in order to demonstrate how large the gap was between them strength-wise, it now seems he had overestimated their ability to perceive such a disparity, for it appeared they had foolishly overrated their own meager abilities.

In order for these foolish rabbit monsters to comprehend such a disparity it appeared his only option was to literally drive the difference into them directly on a physical level.

However he would not kill them, although he figured by the time he was done with them they would probably wished he had. Usually he would have already extinguished the life of every single Bloody Carrot that had dared to bare their fangs at him upon their arrival for the simple purpose of asserting his dominance.

However from the moment he had seen how sturdy these elite soldiers were he had changed his mind. Instead of killing them he had decided to use them as guinea pigs to experiment with a few of his newly acquired Skills, for he reasoned that surely such sturdy rabbit monsters would be able to survive no matter how torturous or agonizing the trial.

Furthermore he had also accepted Carl as his little bro, and although he had done this simply because he found him quite an amusing character, he still felt he should leave him with some protection, after all, despite the lack of respect the Bloody Carrots felt for Carl, he was still the only prince of the Rabbit Kingdom and they were honor bound to protect him and the Kingdom.
