Red eyes

Jade slowly opened her eyes, she felt a faint pain on her head. Her breathings were ragged and uneven, her eyes quickly adapted to the sudden brightness of the room. She was sitting on a chair but neither her hands nor feet were tied.

She stood up and looked around in search of Kyle but she was the only one in the empty white room... or so she thought.

"He isn't here." A smooth and deep masculine voice came from the other side of the room.

Jade turned to the direction that the voice was coming from.

Jade frowned at the man who was leaning on the wall, his eyes were closed and some strands of his pitch black hair fell lightly on his face. Jade couldn't see his face clearly but she could see the outline of his perfectly sculptured face, his lips were thin and red.

Jade shook her head to stop herself from falling deeper into the trance of a handsome man. She raised her guards against the inhumanly beautiful man.

"Where is Kyle?" Jade asked in displeasure and anger. She couldn't understand why she hadn't been killed yet but she didn't want to think about that since Kyle's whereabouts were more important right now.

"Oh, is it Kyle now? I honestly thought it would be Francis." The man chuckled with his eyes still closed.

Jade's eyes widened, "You, you know Francis. Where is he?" Jade screamed. If this man knew who Francis was, then he should know where Francis is.

Jade wanted to walk up to him and hold him by his collar but she knew it wasn't a really wise decision. Putting in place all that had happened in this island, one could tell that this place wasn't a place filled with weaklings but people strong enough to run past bullets. No matter how Jade tried to overlook this, it was still a fact that this people might not be normal humans and the beauty of this man just strengthened that thesis.

Jade sighed, she knew she didn't stand a chance against them and it truly felt awful to be powerless.

She decided to offer a proposal, it was wrong to be selfish but at times selfishness was the only way out.

"I'll leave quietly if you give Francis and Kyle to me and I promise that I won't come back nor tell anyone about you."

"Humans, all the same. Your proposal is too one-sided, what do I gain from this?" The man's lips curved up slightly.

Jade wanted to overlook how he classified humans like he wasn't part of them. With a sense of foreboding, Jade answered, "Our sealed lips."

"I can keep it sealed forever if I just kill you... and them."

Jade knew that her proposal was really one-sided and she knew that he was right. The strange man could really keep their lips sealed forever.

"It isn't your first time hearing this kind of proposal, right?" Jade asked.

"No."

"Yes?"

"You're the first ones to have reached the island on your own free will and that is very interesting." The man stood up straight and walked towards her.

"I'll make a deal with you." He said leaned towards her and caressed her face.

Jade's breathings hitched when she felt his cold fingers on her cheeks, his bewitching voice sounded so pleasing, slowly pulling her into a trance-like state.

Jade shuddered and backed away to the other end of the room.

"What's the deal about?"

The man sat on the chair and crossed his long legs.

"You'll come with me to be studied in exchange for Francis."

"Studied?"

"Yes and you don't need to know why?"

"Tsk." Jade clicked her tongue, she had a feeling that he wouldn't explain the reason even if she asks.

"You'll let him go?"

"After the study, yes."

"Kyle?"

"He'll come with you."

"Why should I believe that you'd let us go?"

"I give you my word."

"Tsk, like the words of a trafficker means anything." Jade rolled her eyes, sarcasm dripping from her voice.

"Mine does." The man gave a short replied.

Jade glanced at him and then to his closed eyes.

"Are you blind or just scared of opening your eyes?" She asked bluntly, the lack of curiosity was evident in her voice.

"Neither." He replied curtly.

His long black lashes fluttered open and revealed a pair of ruby red gem-like eyes.

Jade's heart skipped a beat and her jaw almost fell in surprise.

"You shouldn't be too scared." He smirked and added, " Since you would be seeing it often from now on."

"Hey man, Are you human?"

"Since you'll be coming with me, I guess you should know that much. I'm not human and... The name is Luther."

Jade raised a brow, she already had suspicions but hearing him admit it sounded weird.

Red eyes? Only one mythical creature is well known as red eyed creatures... And there were vampires.

Jade's eyes widened at this realisation.

"You are a vampire?"

"Hmm." Luther made a sound of affirmation.

Jade frowned, one of the reasons for her misery was standing right in front of her but he wasn't human, then why was he kidnapping?

"Why are you kidnapping humans?"

"Why do you fish?" Luther answered her question with his.

Jade immediately realised, she frowned and turned her face to the other side.

To this beings, humans were nothing but food and who knows how many of this creatures were out there.

There was only one way to know.

"Deal... It's a deal." Jade said and looked straight into his red eyes.

Luther sighed, he stood up and walked towards her.

"Aren't you scared?" He stood a few metres away from her and asked, curiosity laced in his voice.

"Scared of what?" Jade's forhead creased.

"Me."

"Tsk, why would I be? I've escaped from you clutches once, I can do it again." Jade said firmly.

Luther smiled and said, "I'm looking forward to that."

A certain person suddenly came to Jade's mind but she didn't mention him in fear that he might be killed if it was discovered that he helped her escape.
