Chapter 41: Found You
JOHN’S POV
I didn’t know what Aaron had said to Abby to make her run, but I didn’t care. Aaron stopped in front of me on the way out with his boxed pie, and I gave him a serious expression and placed my hands in my pockets.
“Sheryl told me you were out here. How’s the research going? I can’t imagine this was part of the business deal.” Aaron stared at me in a chaotic way and licked his lips.
“Let’s talk.” I took a hand from my pocket and gestured with my index finger to step outside for a moment.
He followed me out the door and off to the side of the building that held the market. I took him over to stand beside a pine tree and rubbed the corners of my lips for a moment before placing my hand back in my pocket.
“Alright, you got me out here. What did you want to say?” Aaron crossed his arms over his chest.
