After this revolution, Adelaide felt even more powerful and important. She now had the confidence to overthrow her father. But she still made sure not to underestimate him. If she did this, she was sure she'd have no problems whatsoever.
Sometimes, Adelaide wondered why she was so keen on destroying the king. Then she reminded herself that it was because of him that she had to endure all the shit that was thrown at her. He was the cause of her lack of self-esteem, trust issues, panic attacks, anxiety, and depression.
He deserved all the most terrible things about to happen to him.
Adelaide sighed, not able to find the courage to get out of her bed. She supposed talking to Filippa would help soothe her pain. If she didn't, Filippa would force her to do so anyway. Tears pricked at the corner of her eyes.
What did Adelaide do to ever deserve this? Sure, she did find the meaning of life, learn to appreciate what she had, and finally find a best friend, but this emotional wound she had would never heal this way. She was so thankful to her family for being patient with her, especially her mother.
Now that Adelaide was taking some time to reflect, she realised just how lonely she truly was. It didn't help that she felt like her sadness was invalid. She knew she had more than enough people for her, yet she was being ungrateful.
"No matter what, I vow to take revenge and right what has been wronged because it is my destiny to do so."
The King had no idea what was coming for him, and Adelaide couldn't wait to see the look on his face when Karma came to collect his debt.
