Chapter 16: Adventures exam pt.2

"Kira Riverstone?" The Woman called for her to follow to the exam room.

Kira approached the examiners with her head held high, ready to prove herself.

The first challenge was to demonstrate her magical source potential. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and let her magic flow. The room was filled with the sound of rushing water as a column of water erupted from the ground beneath her feet.

She raised her hands and manipulated the water, shaping it into a variety of forms: a ball, a blade, and even a whip. The examiners watched in amazement as Kira's water magic was executed with precision and grace.

Next, the examiners tested her knowledge of strategy and magic theory. They presented her with a scenario in which she had to navigate a treacherous forest filled with dangerous creatures. Kira listened carefully, analyzing the situation and formulating a plan.

She used her knowledge of elemental magic to create barriers and traps, setting up a perimeter that would keep the creatures at bay. Her strategic planning was flawless and her execution was even better.

The next challenge tested her dungeoneering abilities. Kira was transported to a dark and eerie dungeon, filled with traps and puzzles.

She utilized her staff of elemental magic mastery, channeling earth magic to create stone bridges and walls, wind magic to detect traps and move objects, and fire magic to light her path. As she moved deeper into the dungeon, the challenges became more difficult, but Kira remained calm and composed, using her mastery of elemental magic to solve each puzzle and overcome each obstacle.

Finally, it was time for the combat challenge. Kira was pitted against a group of fierce monsters, including goblins, trolls and even a giant spider. She began by summoning a wave of water to sweep away the goblins and knock the trolls off balance. She followed up with a series of powerful earth spells, unleashing a torrent of stone spears and a powerful wind vortex that engulfed the giant spider. Kira's combat abilities were top-notch and her use of elemental magic was truly masterful.

As Kira completed her exam, the examiners had no doubt that she was a force to be reckoned with. Her skill and mastery of elemental magic were awe-inspiring, and she had passed the level two exam with flying colors. The Adventures Association would be lucky to have her as a member.

Several other examinees were called and little by little the room where Arin had not a few examinees left. He began to doze off until he hear a name called that put him on high alert.

"Marcus Elding?" She said surveying the room then from the back corner stood up Arin's Rival. Arin now surprised that he did not notice him.

They locked eyes as Marcus passed by Arin on the way to his assessment.

Awhile later the woman finally come back and calls for Arin.

"Arin Lightwood?" She announced. Arin perked up as he heard his name called and begun to follow her down the hall.

They began to pass the Exam Halls starting with the level one halls, After them they begun to pass the level two halls which Arin was confused to why they did not pick one.

Then they arrived at the end of the hall and to a large ornate door with a large ornate gargoyle on the front. Above the door was the words Elite Examination Room.

Arin begun to think to himself IM IN THE LEVEL THREE TEST!?!

Arin stepped into the exam room, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew that this level of exam was going to be tough, but he was determined to pass. As he looked around the room, he could see that the examiners had set up a complex series of obstacles for him to overcome, and he braced himself for the challenge ahead.

The first test was a test of his magical source potential. Arin focused his mind and began to inscribe a rune on the ground in front of him. As he channeled his magical energy into the rune, it began to glow with a brilliant light until it exploded. Suddenly, a barrage of magical attacks rained down on him, and Arin used his runes to defend himself, conjuring a field of stone bullets to deflect the attacks.

The second test was a test of his strategy and magic theory. Arin had to use his knowledge of runes and his quick thinking to navigate a maze filled with traps and obstacles. He had to carefully find hidden mechanisms on the walls and floors to open doors and deactivate traps, all while avoiding deadly enemies that lurked around every corner.

The third test was a test of his dungeoneering skills. Arin found himself in a dark, twisting dungeon, and he had to use his runes to light the way and find his way to the end. Along the way, he had to battle a variety of monsters, including goblins, orcs, and even a pair of trolls. But with the help of Azazelith, who fought alongside him, he was able to emerge victorious.

The fourth and final test was a test of his combat ability. Arin found himself in a large arena, facing off against a powerful opponent. He inscribed a rune on his hand, and a radiant blast of energy shot out, striking the enemy and knocking him back. Azazelith, meanwhile, darted around the battlefield, striking with the dagger Arin gave her and evading enemy attacks with her quick reflexes.

As the battle raged on, Arin felt his magical energy beginning to drain. He knew that he had to end the fight quickly before he ran out of power. With a fierce cry, he unleashed a powerful flame serpent spell, summoning a massive serpent of fire that coiled around his enemy, burning him to a crisp.

With the last of his magical energy spent, Arin collapsed to the ground, exhausted but triumphant Azazelith came over and helped him up checking him over for wounds.

The examiners approached him, congratulating him on a job well done. Arin could hardly believe it, but he had passed the level three adventures exam, proving himself to be one of the most powerful mages in the capital he hugged Azazelith which made her freeze in her tracks. " Thank you for your help i would not have been able to do with without you." he said

She did not let him see her face but she was smiling for but a fleeting moment then she realized what she was doing and shook the emotions off her face going back to the stone cold allure she normally had.

As the three adventurers, Luke, Kira, and Arin, step out of the exam room, they are greeted by the woman at the front desk with a beaming smile. "Congratulations, adventurers!" she exclaims, clapping her hands together. "I am pleased to inform you that you have all passed your exams with flying colors."

The woman pulls out a stack of parchment and begins to sort through them, her eyes scanning the pages until she finds the ones she's looking for. "Luke Blackwood, based on your outstanding performance, I'm pleased to award you the rank of Silver." She hands him a silver badge with the emblem of the Adventures Association.

"Kira Riverstone," the woman continues, turning her attention to the water mage. "You also performed exceptionally well, and I am happy to award you the rank of Silver." Kira beams with pride as she takes her silver badge.

Finally, the woman turns to Arin Lightwood, her eyes filled with admiration. "Arin, your performance on the Elite Exam was exceptional. I have not seen marks like yours in over a decade." She hands him a badge with an emerald gem in the center. "It is my pleasure to award you the rank of Emerald."

The three adventurers exchange excited glances as they admire their new badges. They've worked hard to get to this point, and now they're officially ranked adventurers, ready to take on whatever challenges come their way.

As they turn to leave, the woman calls after them. "Good luck on your future adventures! Remember, safety first, and always be prepared."

The group asked the lady at the front about where they could sign up as a official adventuring team.

The woman at the front desk smiled and listened attentively to their question. "Well, congratulations on officially becoming ranked adventurers! If you're interested in forming an adventuring team, you're in the right place. The fee to register is 100 gold per person, and you'll need to designate a leader for your team who will be responsible for your actions."

Arin, Luke, and Kira nodded in agreement, eager to take the next step.

"As for the team name, you'll need to decide on that yourselves," the woman continued. "Now, if you'll follow me, I can show you to the registration desk."

After the woman at the front desk finished explaining about the team registration and office, Arin, Luke and Kira gathered around to discuss who would be the team leader and what name they would give their team.

"I'm happy to take on the role of team leader," Arin said with a confident smile. "I have the most experience and I think I can lead us well."

Kira nodded in agreement. "I think that's a great idea. You've always been the one to take charge in our previous missions."

Luke chimed in, "I don't mind taking on the role of the strategist. I'll make sure we're prepared for any situation and that we're always on the right track."

Arin gave Luke a nod of approval. "That's a great idea. And Kira, you can be our combat specialist. You have a variety of magic skills and your staff skills are impeccable."

Kira beamed with pride at the compliment. "Thank you, Arin. I'll make sure to keep us all safe and sound."

They all took a moment to ponder the name of their team.

"How about 'The Lightning Knights'?" suggested Luke.

Arin furrowed his brow in thought. "I don't know, it's a bit generic. How about 'The Arcane Vanguard'?"

Kira nodded in agreement. "I like that. It has a nice ring to it."

"Agreed," said Luke. "The Arcane Vanguard it is."

With their team leader and name decided, they made their way to the team registration desk to officially register as a team.

The woman at the desk smiled at them and asked, "Hello again, what can I help you with?"

"We're here to register as an official adventuring team," Arin said, handing over the necessary documents and 300 gold for the registration fee.

The woman took the documents and gold, quickly processing their registration. "Congratulations, your team is now officially registered with the Adventures Association," she said, handing them their official team badge.

The badge was adorned with their team name, "The Arcane Vanguard," and had a bright arcane infused jewel in the center. The woman then led them to the third floor to show them the available team offices.

They passed by a small room with basic amenities such as a desk, chairs, and a bookshelf. The monthly fee for this room was 200 gold. The medium-sized room had a larger desk, a few couches, a stocked kitchenette, and a window with a view of the city. The fee for this room was 600 gold per month.

The largest room was truly impressive. It had two floors, with a spiral staircase leading up to a loft area that held a bedroom with two large beds. The main area had a full kitchen, a comfortable seating area, a large conference table, and a balcony with a panoramic view of the city. The monthly fee for this room was 2000 gold.

They went back down and looked at different floor plans and they finally came to one they liked

"This one has a conference room, weapons storage room, and a private library. It also comes with a magic item workshop, a stocked kitchenette, and a window with a view of the city. Is that something you're interested in?"

The trio looked at each other, silently weighing their options. "That sounds perfect," said Kira, "We'll take it."

After filling out the necessary paperwork and paying the rent, the receptionist reminded them that their badges were now linked to their team office. "Congratulations on becoming official adventurers and welcome to the Adventurers Association," she said with a smile.

As they made their way up to their new office, Arin, Luke, and Kira couldn't help but feel excited about their future adventures as The Arcane Vanguard.

Arin, Luke, and Kira made their way to the third floor of the headquarters, passing by a variety of team offices along the way. They saw the door of the "Elysian Crusaders," with its polished silver nameplate that shone in the light. Further down the hall, they noticed the "Elemental Enigmas," with their name painted in bright green letters on a wooden sign.

As they approached their own team's office, they saw the nameplate on the door that read "The Arcane Vanguard." Arin took out his key and unlocked the door, swinging it open with a creak. Inside, they were greeted by a spacious room with large windows that looked out over the bustling city below.

To the left, they saw a large conference table with comfortable chairs around it, perfect for team meetings and strategy sessions. On the opposite wall, they noticed a weapons storage room, with racks of swords, bows, and other weapons neatly organized and hung up. The team members could easily grab their preferred weapons and gear before heading out on missions.

In the far corner of the room, there was a private library with a vast collection of books on magic theory, history, and strategy. Luke grinned at the sight, already eager to peruse the shelves and add to his knowledge.

Near the center of the room, they spotted a well-stocked kitchenette, complete with a magic ice box, a decent sized range, and large pantry. It was perfect for quick snacks or meals during long missions.

Lastly, they noticed a large workbench with a variety of tools and materials for creating and modifying magic items, which was an essential addition for the team's magic item expert, Arin.

Overall, the office of the Arcane Vanguard was impressive, and the team members were excited to have such an excellent space to work and plan their adventures.
