Chapter 10

GREY'S POV

3 days have passed since X have arrived here, I must admit, she recovers pretty fast. She can already walk alone but Doctor Marie insisted that she have to slow down. Bruises are still visible and her wounds are getting healed.

We already have taken care of Trench and his organization has shut down. We can never forget what he has done to us, and it served as a warning to all those organizations to never mess with us.

Everyone has been very busy lately doing their jobs. Especially me who took over Dwayne's job because I can't afford to make him work, his work position is dangerous, he might get himself killed just because he can't think clearly.

For now, Dwayne and Violet take turns watching X even though I already hired a personal doctor to look upon X. Sometimes they get Doctor Marie frustrated when they interfere in everything, fortunately, Nutriel was there to explain everything to the both of them.

I can't take care of her because I have a lot of things to do. But I always stop by in her room to check up on her and know her progress.

Doctor Marie is an excellent doctor, she stays here so she can always check up on X, that made Nutriel happy, they became pretty close for the reason that they are both doctors and they have the same interests.

While Violet and I - didn't have the time to talk because our schedule doesn't match. I often come home very late at night and she's already asleep at that time. I stopped sleeping beside her on our bed and started sleeping on the sofa. I know I did her wrong the first time we met but I don't want her to remember me as the same horrible man she met that night. I don't want her to think that I'm forcing myself on her. Although I still give her a peck on her cheek whenever I can when she's asleep.

That's the only thing I can do for now to earn her trust than to give her more reason to hate me. I want this to work out, not just for our unborn child but also for us. I know she'll find it in her heart to love me.

I have done her wrong and I'm going to fix the mistake I did that night.

XANDRA'S POV

"Princess! NO!" Luis's shout.

I jumped from a very high perch.

He pulled me away from there.

"Never ever do that again! It's dangerous, you might get yourself hurt!" He scolded me.

"Nobody cares if I get myself hurt. Plus, I'm always in training so it's fine." I explained.

He looked at me in disbelief.

"Well, I do. With me, you're gonna be a princess." He hugged me.

"Always remember, they might hurt you but I won't and I will always protect you because you're my sister." He kissed me on the head.

"I'm just happy that you're with me again." I happily said.

"I will always be with you, you'll never gonna lose me." After he said that he started to fade. I tried my best to hold onto him but he's gone.

"Nooooo!" I cried.

"Xandra, it's just a dream." Miss.M woke me up and comforted me.

That's the problem, it's just a dream. I miss my brother so much.

I'm completely aware that Nutriel called me a princess when he saved me, which triggers this dream. I have been dreaming about it since I became conscious.

This is devastating, dreaming of him, fading from my touch. I have never been treated the way he treated me. How could I ever forget him? It saddens me that I will never see him again. He's the nicest person I have ever met in my entire life besides Violet.

"What happened to her?" Dwayne who just got woke up asked.

"She had a bad dream." Ms.M responds.

Someone opened the door and Nutriel came in. "Oh, you're awake! Wait, it's still midnight." He said after looking at his wristwatch.

"She had a bad dream." Ms.M told him.

"So, hmm, do you mind if I borrow Ms.M for a minute? I just got home and I wanted to eat outside, so if I could-" He was interrupted by Dwayne. "Just go."

Nutriel plashes a wide smile and pulled Ms.M. outside.

"They are gone. Good thing Nutriel found someone whom he can talk to about his interest." He said smiling.

I didn't respond and just stayed quiet.

"Are you okay?" Dwayne asked.

I nodded my head.

"I wish you could talk to me again." I felt his expression changed.

"We had the chance and everything suddenly changed." His voice cracked.

"I'm still thankful that I had a chance to talk to you even just for a short time. I just wished we could go back to that very moment where I could see those cheerful eyes. I'll always wait for you to be open to me for what had happened to you 6 years ago. I have loved you for a long time X, and this won't make me give up on you. I will always let myself tear apart just for you - that's how much I love you." He said passionately, I can feel the heavy feeling he felt. After that, he left the room.

I knew he's the one that says I love you when I was saved. I can't see him but I could hear and feel him. That's how I badly know him, he speaks with his heart whenever he's talking to me.

Tears started to fall from my cheek. I wish I could love you, Dwayne, I wish I could.

You deserve better, better than me. I had these wounds that will never ever heal, and it's not visible to anyone, I'm the only one who can see them.

I have wasted so much time, time that I could have loved you and show you how much I feel for you, but I won't give up either, even if I have to stop myself from feeling this way, I will do it. I don't want you to hurt yourself trying to fix my broken pieces.

QUE'S POV

I couldn't sleep and decided to look at my balcony, I could see the gate out here. I'm trying to relax with the stars looking down on me. This is such a beautiful night-

When I saw Satan coming out of her car.

The devil's back, I hurriedly run to the elevator. I have to warn all of them.

When I got down, I saw no one. Where's everyone?

She came in wearing a fur coat, fashionable gloves, and shades. Looking sophisticated as she is.

"Where's everyone, brat?" She removes her shades and I saw her watchful eyes. Eyes that can see everything.

"They are all resting," I responded.

"How's my daughter? I heard that she got kidnapped again, and why is that?" She asked me one after another.

"Mom quit pressuring Quenerie. You're putting her under pressure again." Saved by another devil, Grey came out of nowhere. I thought he's already asleep, he has been working a lot lately.

"I just asked her basic questions dear, if I asked her mathematical questions she won't be able to answer that and will start to cry like a brat she is. Ugh, that's why her mother brought her here to train but instead, she's just like Xandra who always whine." She dramatically stated.

There she goes again.

"You look exhausted my son. I guess you have been working a lot lately." She touches Grey's face.

"Yeah, I guess." He gave her a smile.

Ever since we're kids. Grey has been her favorite. She never pays attention to X.

"What brings you here?" Grey asked.

"I'm going to stay here for a while. I'll check everything in here. I think you're doing a really good job managing our businesses. You're really making me proud." She proudly stated.

I was about to leave when she mentioned my name.

"Que... where do you think you're going?" I turned to her, don't tell me she's going to make me clean at this hour.

"Since you're still awake and have a lot of energy, I think you could clean the room I'm going to stay in." She raised her brow trying to intimidate me and I lose, I nodded.

I saw how badly Grey wanted to laugh at my face. He's going to make everything worst.

"Yes, of course, I was just about to do that when I heard you're going to stay here that's why I was about to leave." I smiled at her and trying to make her believe what I just said.

"Good, you can go now." She said and shoo me.

I turn my back on them and started to walk. She's going to make me her slave again!

"So, where can I stay while that brat is cleaning my room." I heard her asked.

"Let her stay in the bathtub so she can clean herself inside and out," I said to myself.

I opened her room and it was clean. Yes, but I have to make sure.

I started to dust everywhere and sanitize everything. She has this habit of making everyone's life miserable.

I wished she never came back. I remember when I was a kid, every toy that I have and my dad gives me, it's either she throws it away or makes me break it. What a good way to break a child's memory.

My mom brought me here when I was young, my mom was strict and my dad was a consoler. That's why I took advantage of my dad's attitude towards me, and my mom took that as a challenge, so she brought me here.

And she never took me back.

They both grew up in a strict family, and they have applied it to their own family.

Fortunately, I have those 3 boys who have helped me in everything, especially when my devil aunt of mine makes me clean as a punishment. Dwayne, Lore, and Zeek would always find a way to help me, that's why I became so close to them except for Grey who only knows how to make it worst when I'm being punished. Luckily, another savior has arrived, Nutriel became one of my saviors.

I have witnessed what they have sacrificed for X when we were all young. They have been punished every time they are caught helping her secretly, especially Dwayne who always gets to sleep with bruises all over his body, and yet he didn't mind any of that.

I have thought X is weak because she always gets punished - when I first came here, when I don't do what they say, I get punished the same as them. But, they made me understand that she just has a different belief, and because of that, she's the strongest among all of us.

Even though she always gets beat-up to death, she always stands up and lives another day. She's hard to get rid of, that's what they say. Rumors have spread that their mother had planned to get rid of her because she considers her weak but X never gave up.

And X's last words to her was, "You can never get rid of me, mother, I will always, always be your living nightmare.". After that, she never ever spoken a word to her mother.

My mom neglected me, but she never did what their mother did.

What kind of mother would take her child's life?

She's a destructive mother, I guess.

I felt someone is walking closer to me from behind.

"Hey, what are you doing? You should be sleeping by now... did you get punished again? What did you do?" Lore asked questions after another.

"Yeah, I should be dreaming about unicorns and sheep but someone who came back from hell ordered me to clean her room." I annoyingly explained.

"Oh! She's back." Lore already had someone in mind. No doubt, we're talking about the same person.

"Alright, I guess..." I felt him walking away from me. I turn my back and look in his direction.

"Don't worry, I'm not leaving you here. Let's clean!" He excitedly said.

We were both pretty close to each other. And when I have something to clean and he's not doing anything, he always helps me, this became our bonding ever since.
